We got a few of these in at work, the full metal construction is extremely nice, wasn't overly impressed with the touch pad though honestly.

9 years later and this works like a charm! i recently got one due my dad job and it can even run some recent games lie friday night funking (half of them, those who dont exagerate in graphics) and touhou luna nights.

I just bought one for my mom to upgrade her 5430. Hers is a high res config with an i5 4310u cpu, 8 gb ram and so forth. She'll also love the lighted keyboard and the ability to still use her dock and keep with Windows 7 until I can move her slowly to something like Mint Linux. Really decent device.

I like latitudes because they are super easy to to upgrade. Solid build and great keyboard. I just wished they offers a better IPS display like some of the Lenovo's

Dropped my e7440 a couple days ago and my wireless on off switch broke off with the wireless switch turned off is tgere an internal solution to get my wireless back on?If not cani substitute the internal wireless with a usb wireless network adapter? PLease respond back

In laptops i3, i5 and i7 doesn't matter. What matters is the last characters, i.e. U, HQ, MQ, HX etc.

Generally yes, more specifically the deciding factor is the TDP, since these days manufacturers can choose from a TDP window - many Thinkpads have 7xxxU CPUs configured up to 25W but they can be configured down to ~7.5W IIRC

@@insanemedullaoblongata3292 it's pretty durable, I have been using it for about a year and after slapping it down on the table, floor, wall, (don't ask me why lmao) it still works fine. Just don't hit it on the left half of the keyboard or the whole screen will freeze and the speakers will go haywire. Just restart it if it happens.

Yeah I might get a refurb that has an I5 4th gen, Windows 10 Pro, 8 gigs of RAM, 256 SSD, I think it's probably better than anything knew you're going to find. And it's only $303. But for that price, worth it for sure. I don't like todays laptop (so so, some junk) "quality".

using this as my business laptop. It is ok for office work and web browsing if you have 8gb of ram and SSD. I like this keyboard better then the new ones on the thinkpad and dell machines ... this is last series that they had this style of keyboard... screen is superbad tho ...

Depends how much you're gonna pay but yes. I've got an hp elite book with a first gen i7 and it's still fine. Dell make better laptops.

This laptop is not that outdated. But you wont be able to buy new ones anymore. I just purchase a nice refurbished one on eBay today. I am going to do a memory/SSD upgrade when I receive it.

A Kingston lock port? ...you mean a Kensington lock, right? At 2 minutes and 15 seconds into the video you said that. Just thought I'd correct you on that. It is called a Kensington lock, not a Kingston lock.

I personally dont like DELL due to its hardware issues. It is prone to a lot of laptop related issues

stuck or beeps on boot. and other mostly booting errors. beeping on boot suggest that their is some hardware errors. that is prolly why I think DELL has the worst hardware in comparison with its competitors.
