Part 2 Product Review of Gold Hog's Flow Pan and new Con Box Conversion Kit. This episode we take out the Flow Pan with Con Box Conversion Kit to the creek for a field test.
Gold Hog is getting ready to release the new Con Box Conversion Kit to their Flow Pan. This is to replace the Hog Pan which is used to classify material down and leave only the heavy material (and GOLD) to clean up later. Nice! I believe she left the flowpan in the flow of the river a bit too long. It only takes seconds to clear the pan once it's in the flow. That's why you had gold in the tailings.

my flowpay just came in mail oh baby. Took it out and did maybe 30 shovels. It captured very fine gold, the kind that floats! nothing bigger where I was but it worked as well as doc said it would, Worth the hundred I spent for it nice product

2:44 "You don't need any classifiers." 2:50 [Very next scene] Shows Kathleen *_classifying_* by hand! To truly know how well these do, how long did it take to process the whole bucket? Compare that number to how long it takes to process a bucket with a "regular" gold pan.

The Gold Hog videos on the thing (flow pan) have the prospector/user (Doc) MOVING it in the stream (back and forth with the stream flow) for the final cleanup and not just letting the stream's water flow alone do the work (like a river sluice). Not quite what you guys were doing. That might help clearing out the dross. Probably takes some playing with. Glad to see someone besides Doc testing the stuff, though. New products never seem to be quite as easy to use as the manufacturer makes it look.

It definitely takes some practice for sure but like with any piece of prospecting equipment you just need to dial in your gear and get proficient with it. Thanks for watching.

So correct me if I am wrong: In an area with good stream flow, go with the original Flow Pan. In an area with no or minimal flow, go with Flow Pan and Con Box.

Great point...the flow pan was designed to be used in an area with good stream flow. I've seen it used in no water flow and it does work but doesnt process the material as well. We will show it when we do the controlled test at home.

The field test I would love to see but can't find on youtube is the flow pan vs. a regular gold pan and classifier. I classify to 1/4" and then pan down the material down to basically just the cons and leave them in the pan and repeat the process maybe 10 or 15 times before I pan out all the cons and suck them up into a snuffer bottle. I would love to see how fast that process is vs. the flow pan using the same amount of material.

From down under learn how to tap the side a bit more and use gravity to rid the soil from the good stuff, sometimes the Ol pan gets a better job on finding the good stuff, Don't be so trustworthy of new tech and take your time. Patience gets people frustrated and they just want to go go go and they lose 10-20 percent of the colour. Take your time and go bucket by bucket. Keep it slow is the way to gold my great grandad used to say

It should have riffles on one of its walls. So nothing falls out when your panning. Slick wall kinda scetchy. Maybe glued yukon matt?

Wandering Buffalos Prospecting yeah if someones fancy enough they could weild 2 or 3 small aluminum riffles with those aluminum weilding rods that melt with propain. Rivet gun would work 2. If no tig available.

About 2:30 in to this video you "discard" your classifiers to the bank behind the camera. Where did you get that DEEP classifier that's shaped sort of like the cooling tower on a nuke plant? I'd LOVE to have one of those!

It will capture flour gold but you will have to change the technique a bit. You wouldn't be as aggressive when working the material.

No...Shad is from Columbus, OH. He served in Lima Company, 3rd battalion 25th Marine Regiment in Iraq in 2005. His unit lost 22 Marines and a Navy Corpsman during the deployment in Al Anbar Province. One of the hardest hit units during the Iraq war.

@@icehole51 this was filmed near Mansfield, Ohio. However, we do most of our prospecting in southern Ohio where you can find coarse gold and even small pickers.

Not a sales pitch. If you watched till the end we compare pros and cons to both so the consumer makes a choice. Then we gave both away. Thanks for the feedback.
