very nice review, thanks. I have made composting toilets that are at the height of a standard toilet with sawdust in the bucket. no smell either. Best

We looked into all the options and requirements John. The professionally made compost toilets are ok.. To much bother to take camping and you still have the problem of the urine and all the paper. That is why the national parks require a wast holing tank. its all the toilet paper blowing around the bush. And many will not let you have fires. So you can't burn it. This was a very easy solution to the problem and works great for where we live.

I bought the Porta Potti 365 early last year and it is ok but will leak water from the top tank filler. And yes I agree that the oval shape is definitely nicer than the square shape for us guys

We did not have our top tank spill out of the filler cap yet. The next trip will be a lot rougher tracks so it will be interesting. Not that it matters in the back of the Ute. Yes the shape of the toilet made a huge difference in the comfort of using the toilet for me that is for sure.

@@petersmith6423 Your going to love it. Just follow the Directions with the additives and please use the environmentally friendly additives. We do and we love the fact that we can dig a hole and empty it when out in the bush. Or tip it down any toilet regardless of the type so septic system they are using. We tip ours into our own toilet at home and have never had a problem. Yes they stink a bit when you empty them. Just just a part of life. Shit stinks.

Looked all over for the 565 Curve with the piston pump in the U.S. and came up empty. Sure hope it doesn't result in an earlier trip to the landfill than it otherwise would.

yes they got replaced by the electric pump unit. Over here in Australia they put a 3 year warranty on them. The reason i went with the hand pump is. Its will not run out of battery power when needed most, and i don't have to cart lotts of AA batteries with me. But if there is a problem parts are very easy to get.

LOL Yes somebody is sure to complain and say i said the word shit stinks and then called it sugar and spice. Can't make em all happy and i gave up trying many years ago. I tell it how it is and if they don't like it they know how to turn my video off.

@@JustinCaseSolarPower Well I got hit yesterday with the KZfaq thought police. They did not like my son Thomas in the videos. They were concerned that people may make "Inappropriate comments" about Children in videos! What? Yep.... so lets go after the children and not the people making sick comments. Stupid. Just stupid. What is worse is I have NEVER had any poor comments about my son! Or much else other than how dare i mentions God or anything to do with Farming life. They turned off ALL comments on ALL of my videos and de monitzed many of them. The other ones were how to render Lard. Pig Fat. IF you work for KZfaq then your food comes from Wal Mart in Styrofoam not from an honest farm. Things like this make me want to shut it all down. What a bunch of idiots.

The fact that the white toilet has the oblong seat would be a selling point with me. I have a potable toilet as well and it's very uncomfortable to use.

the Thetford Porta Potti 565 is the way to go. I have not come across anther brand in Australia quite like it. at the start of the video you can see a door at the base of itl. That is a toilet paper holder. I did not mention that in the video. If you have to use one, and we do in a lot of places we go. Then this shape and brand is the way to go. Also comes with a 3 year warranty. Rest just have 12 months.

Thank you, Just passing on what i have learned through experience with the 2 units. The e-bay toilet was the first one of these sort of toilets i used. I am very pleased i got the other one as i was thinking all these sorts of toilets were not very good. Then we got the THETFORD PORTA POTTI 565 MANUAL TOILET, It was like turning on a light for the first time. WOW that was good. If you know what i mean

We have been using portable toilets for many years and I can certainly say that one size does not fit all. The EBay one looks a lot like one we bought called a Kookaburra. Way too small for us more generously proportioned people. We have a Fiama that I don't like much and it is also too small. We loved our old square style Porta Potti 165s that we used for a very long time. The new PP we bought has the new stye pump which might turn out to be good but I have a feeling the seat hole isn't as big as the old models. One day I will get the tape measure out and check. I don't think I'll be doing a product video on our portas, they don't look anywhere near as clean :) We stopped using chemicals in our toilets years ago so we can dump them anywhere. Thankfully they ride in a trailer so any pong doesn't become an issue. Our new Porta Potti does still leak from the water filler unlike your rounded model. Best advice, don't go with a cheapie, save up and get a proper portable dunny.

Yes this new one we have is very comfy to sit on and use. If the weather holds and the bush fires don't start where we want to go we should be heading out mid to late next week. The trailer is now finished and we are Ready set go.

Some people don't and some people use to little. The new Chemicals from Thetford help with gas build up in the tank now. We just got back from a nice camping trip and the toilet did not burp at all this trip.
