What the Stars did tonight holding the Avalanche to 1 goal was mighty impressive. An amazing accomplishment. Pressure is now on Colorado to win Game 4 or it could be over with in 5.

Stars team you saw in this game could take on the Oilers/Rangers as well. If they can do this to Avs on their home ice, they can do this to anybody.

This Dallas team is insanely scary. They play fantastic defense. Otter comes through. And they can score when they need to, and have multiple guys who can score. Makes sense that they will win the Cup.

I honestly think that was one of our best games of these playoffs thus far. Just absolutely smothered Colorado in the end. Hopefully we can bring that game into Game 4 and try to take both on the road! GO STARS!

The deeper the series goes, the more the Stars adjust and improve. I agree that a 1 goal lead tonight felt more secure than the previous 3-0 and 4-0 leads because the Stars were really locked in on the board battles and puck support. They've been good at that all series but tonight they were also pressuring the Avs top players well and not giving them room to create. Oh, and Otter was rock solid. We held the Avs to 1 goal on their home ice, that's huge.

It just felt as if the stars had a quicker step tonight. Really won all of the hard battles in the game particularly in the third period

There is a big difference between playing Colorado and playing Vegas. Even after Dallas lost game 1, I felt like this was going to be a much easier series than the Vegas series. Colorado doesn't play that suffocating style like Vegas did. Dallas seems to have much more room on the ice in this series. This series is far from over, but if Dallas plays their game and not get complacent, they should win this series

Being the "Comeback kids" every game is not a good winning strategy. Avs need to score FIRST because Stars rolling all 4 lines and Avs playing thier top line into oblivion chasing the lead.

It was a great win for the stars against the avs, tnt, and the broadcast team. I would like to see them win more faceoffs , it appeared that the avs won a lot in the offensive zone , and created chances that made me nervous.

I’ve never seen the Avs have such a lack of execution. And this isn’t against Winnipeg anymore, this is against a Stars team with a MUCH better roster than the Avs have. Bad passes, horrible clearances, zero urgency on the power play, and complete laziness from our top guys. Amateur stuff that’s happening in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Sure we had a lot of possession but EVERY scoring chance the Stars get is dangerous. We just aren’t coherent as a team and don’t have enough talent to get over it like we did in 2022. This is 2021 vs Vegas all over again. MacKinnon, Makar, and Rantanen not even bothering to look like they care says a lot about this team’s leadership without Landeskog. Mittelstadt is a complete nothing burger. Rantanen in particular has been absolute GARBAGE. This series really should be 3-0 but we absolutely robbed Dallas blind of that Game 1. Bednar can’t coach against DeBoer to save his life.

As a Minnesotan, Jake Oettinger might be on pace to being one of the greatest net minders in the history of our state. (Especially when guys like Frank Brimsek and Jon Casey are viewed highly here as well).

Dallas is such a good defensive team, Avs will be desperate in game 4 but so far they have done well. A couple of semi-heart attack collapses aside, they could and probably should be up 3-0 in this series. Georgiev just aint it chief.

Seguin is not a member of the fourth line, that is just how it worked out on that goal. It is Smith, Steel, and Dadonov. Agree that they are making a difference. Maybe sitting Faksa helps? I cannot figure out what they are doing playing Lundkvist 3 minutes a game. Not only do they have Pouliot on the team, but Bayreuther and Petrovic in Texas who all have played hundreds of NHL games. What is the point of having a guy play 3 minutes and be a known issue when you can get 10-12 minutes out of an NHL vet? Seems like a crazy strategy.

Knights were a tougher matchup than Avs

The way Dallas played tonight reminded me of the 1999 cup team.Suffocating defense, opportunistic offense and contributions from all lines.

The crowd was really quiet in the third, particularly with a few minutes to go. If Stars play like they did in the third they can win the cup

Kinda reminded me of the winning shutdown teams of Hitchcock days.

A beautiful defensive effort by the Stars, they controlled the boards and kept the Avs to the outside, even though Jamie Benn does not score like he did earlier in his career, he demonstrated why he is still valuable on a roster. If they can play like this in two more games, they win the series.....simple.😊

Shannon you are totally right! While watching the game, I said to myself that this looks like how the Stars play. Dallas did more and generated better quality chances with their possessions than Colorado. I think Dallas had more time with the puck to craft better chances, unlike Colorado who had to throw it at the net, because Dallas did a great job at suffocating entry into their zone and blocking shots. This game reminded me of Dallas versus Vegas last year in the WCF, when Vegas was shutting down Dallas at zone entry and blocking shots. And we all know how that ended up.

I kept telling my wife the same thing. I wasn't worried about this game at all. It's the exact kind of game that the Stars own. LFG.

The line with Steele was fantastic . They played great with the lead in the 3rd I was very impressed .

You’re right about Dallas. I always get never when they get a 3+ goal lead because I’ve seen them choke it away so many times. It’s the tightly played, low scoring gaming that I feel most confident in them. Hopefully they can keep it up for the rest of the series!

I agree 100% with you. I was more comfortable when they were leading 2-1 than when they were leading 3-0 and 4-0. They definitely played their game. And Oettinger looks dialed in

Great summary of a great game! One thing that’s annoying me a TON is the entire TNT broadcast crew (the honorable King Lundqvist being the lone exception) shamelessly cheering for Colorado. They vehemently called for the Avs to headhunt Jamie Benn after a hard but legal hit, begged “Nate Dog McKinnon” to spark the comeback last night, and repeatedly use “fortunate” and “unfortunate” exclusively to rejoice or lament Colorado’s last play. Have a shred of integrity and at least TRY to sound impartial even though we all know better. I can’t wait to end the Avs’ season and listen to them cry for a couple of days (before they start cheering for the Stars’ next opponent).

Not just an "unfortunately," the intermission show kept saying "hopefully" in regards to Colorado scoring on their power play coming back

Back checkers for Dal were good , Col in dal zone weaves and dodges or quick pass to skating teammate...when the player dodge away the back checker got him

Turned off the game after the first Stars goal. It seemed safe to conclude after about 5 minutes that if the Avalanche did not score first, the Stars were taking this one. Frankly, that was just some straight up poorly coached hockey from what I saw on the part of the Avalanche during the first period. A real chaotic mess of "hard work".

Some of the security is feeling comfortable with Oettenger. Whereas Georgiev you wonder if he is going to make the big save( he hasn't played badly, still)

Hopefully the Avs find a solution for, or at least a way to chip through, Dallas' blue line defense. It was pretty impressive last night. But the Avs have the talent, and I expect they'll be pretty dang motivated in game 4. Go Avs!

The Stars have depth which translates to stability on all 4 lines. That helps with shift time and ultimately fresher players. Stars in 6.
