Has anyone else watched the Snyder Cut yet? It was a HUGE improvement over the abomination we got in 2017 and is definitely the best DCEU movie directed by Zack Snyder I’ve seen. It still doesn’t excuse the problems I have with Batman v Superman, but it helps me tolerate it only the tiniest bit now. Overall, I’d give it a 7-8/10. Well done Zack. Well done man. Fun fact about Firefly: He actually does exist in the DCEU... you just need to look at BvS tie-in comic to see him... I’m sure KGBeast is a pretty cool villain, but Firefly would honestly stand out more with his wings and flamethrower and Beast was written as a generic thug leader in Batman v Superman(the original version). You can have more interesting fight choreography with a flying arsonist. Also, it helps give attention to some of Batman’s more ridiculous sounding villains and not just the popular ones. Wouldn’t Firefly have been cool to see on the big screen?

Here’s an idea I have for the Martha scene: Instead of saying “Save Martha” Superman says “You’re no better than Joe Chill”. We learn that after he found out Batman’s true identity, Clark did some heavy digging on Bruce Wayne trying to find a motivation for becoming Batman, and that’s when he comes across the info on the murder of the Wayne’s. He also learns that a few months before Batman first made his appearance, Bruce returned after being missing for a few years. What do you think of this idea?

When you go back to the Transformers rewrites one way you could handle the Dinobots. Is for them to be created as berserker warriors by Shockwave however he needs help to complete them so he has Wheeljack kidnapped and forces him to help. This it would be a nice way of of combining the G1 and the aligned origins of the Dinobots. Just a suggestion of course.

How long would you say this rewrite would be if it was the actual movie? Cause Warner Brothers probably wasn’t really confident with a 3 hour runtime in 2016, yet those extra 30 minutes greatly improved it. Obviously it wouldn’t be rated R because they probably wanted to get kids in the cinema to see the movie, but I’m curious as to what the runtime would be.

Really digging these ideas, especially killing Robin & Lucius. Showing the Waynes' murder AGAIN and leaving Robin's death as this ambiguous mystery seems like such a waste. Snyder & co had such a hard-on for showing this darker and more grizzled Batman, but actually showing the traumatic events that pushed him to this point (rather than the old one everyone's seen before) would go a long way towards making his character beats land.

I honestly loved the original version (the Ultimate Edition) of BVS and ngl, I'm a huge fan of Snyder's work on DC since his cut of Justice League is coming in 11 days. However, I am interested to see how this re-write will go and after this is done, I'mma give my honest thoughts about it.

A great rewrite (and to be honest, better than BanditInc's from a few years ago), but I'm not sure how I feel about the ending line of Superman telling Batman to bury the Bat, or don't go to your light in the sky. Though I know they're both in the movie, but the first feels a bit off for the boy scout who believes in preserving life and hasn't gone after Bats because he's stayed in his own city. The second doesn't make sense since his whole opening line is that Batman will not operate in Metropolis, Superman's city, so telling him he will not even go to help people in Gotham (where the Bat Signal shines) feels like a contradiction to opening point. If I may offer an alternative: "You may have your way of doing things, but this is my city. Word of advice? Stay out of it."

When you eventually get around to rewriting Age of Ultron, do you plan on adding another hero, like Black Panther or will it mostly be the same cast?

There has been a lot of debates about who should be Lex Luther, even though my favorite pick is controversial, I think Idris Elba would be an amazing Lex Luther. People might not pick him because of his race and he has hair, but who cares. The Lex we got had hair and I love samuel L jacksons performance as Nick Fury, even though Fury was white in the comics. So yeah, Idris Elba's my main pick for Lex Luther.

Marvel fixed the lead up to the ensemble film problem. Infinity War and Endgame worked without compromising the solo movies. The solo movies were much more than just leading up to the next ensemble film. With thr amount of projects they have planned hopefully this won't be an issue anymore. I think Avengers worked pretty well and the only movie that really suffered because it had to lead into it was Iron Man 2. Age of Ultron definitely had some issues though. S.H.I.E.L.D. being gone should have been more important for example.

If you were gonna do Suicide Squad I had an idea for the villain, instead of Enchantress perhaps without Superman people create Superboy Prime, a clone. That way you could have a villain that would rip them all to shreads without any issue.

Honestly I have no idea why the film is as divisive as it is. If it was going to qualify as a masterpiece, you would think that meant they did a very solid portrayal of the characters in comparison to their comic book counterparts, Still, you touched on this topic, but when it comes to understanding the DCEU characters, I think the writers failed at understanding who Superman and Batman really were, because never really felt like the original characters, but more or less distorted warped concepts of who the characters are. As far as I can tell, Batman was always a psychopath to tortured and killed criminals, the character is so dark without any sense of levity. Even if he did reach that place because of the Kryptonian fight or something else, I still can't sympathize with him because I never had context on what kind of a hero he was before then. I trust your rewrite but I don't see what makes this version of Batman, anything like the Batman I knew. Same with Superman, I am not sure about Affleck's casting as Batman, but in terms of Henry Cavill, I think he was the right man for the job. But his character never really felt like Superman to me, not in Man of Steel and not in BvS. Mostly because I don't think the writers understood who the character was at all. Superman isn't perfect, but he does have a very strong set of moral values that was instilled by his parents, he ultimately represents hope and forgiveness. I don't know if the DCEU was planning on doing like 5,6, or even 10 movies before Superman came off as a true Superman. To me, I can't relate to Cavill's Superman either because he never really earned the Superman mantle to me. The Superman I knew from the DCAU and the comics would have never fought Zod in Metropolis and let all of that collateral damage happen. I know it's pretty unfair to compare these live action versions to the very well written DC Animated Universe versions, considering how well written and casted those shows were. But those animated versions wrote Superman and Batman pretty perfectly right away, and to me they set the standard that all other versions of the characters need to live up to IMO. I am not trying to trash the opinions of fans who defend this movie, but I honestly don't understand on a fundamental level why it's worthy of the praise it's getting. It doesn't make sense to me. Still I am very much looking forward to how you'll approach your rewrite. I am a fan of the main theme you chose which is trust. It's very similar to the main theme of the DCAU's world's finest crossover. Where Batman and Superman had to learn to trust each other in order to defeat Lex Luthor and the Joker. Also in that storyline, they were rivals, no blood enemies. They weren't trying to kill each other like they did in this film. Just saying, but I am sure your already aware of that since you used a World's finest clip in your video. BTW- Billy Zane or Mark Strong would have been my personal pick for Lex Luthor. Or have Billy Zane voice the character in an animated spin off (his voice is smooth as silk). Also Kevin Porter from the Batman fan films would have been my pick for Batman but unfortunately he's way too obscure. Seriously look up his work, he is an amazing live action Batman.
