Only in his particular case, it was in a good way : ) ❤ In general, it's just a typical and common reaction FOR ANY HUMAN BEING to have when they're extremely shocked by something whether it's good OR bad.

Love both young and old Rhaenyra’s high Valyrian. Emma’s is beautiful to be sure. I rewatched Emilia’s Unsullied scene and damn she’s convincing. She was the first and gold standard.

@@juni039 Young Rhaenyra sounded like she just learned the language, while Daenerys sounded like she was reading from a book, she didn't master the Khs & Zhs, but that's to be expected as the language had evolved for hundreds of years and she hardly used it, although it's her vernacular language, she had nobody to speak it with.

@@Angel36930 I adore Millie in the role, but when she spoke Valyrian, there were some instances where to my ear she seemed like she was speaking a second language. The scene where she’s getting the egg back from Daemon comes to mind, there’s one line where she says ‘vronkron’ , I forget the rest of the sentence, and the whole sentence just sounds clunky. And overall her vowels were sharper and stood out more, so her words didn’t flow together so easily as Emma’s do. Edit: also Emma is the only actor in this series who can roll their ‘r’s this well

As a modern day example take the British Royal Family: Queen Elizabeth II inherited the throne from her father and her husband was always referred to as “Prince Consort Philip” or just “Prince Philip”, but never “King Philip”. King Charles III inherited his throne and because he is “king” his wife, Camilla, is referred to as “Queen Consort Camilla” or just “Queen Camilla” or just “The Queen” because there is a single queen at a time unlike princes. Rhaenyra and Daemon faked his death. Rhaenyra and Daemon both understand about Laenor's being gay and how unhappy he was being stuck in a marriage that's just for show. In ep 7 when no one else except Laenor's boyfriend is listening, Daemon secretly says to Laenor "There are places across the Narrow Sea where it doesn't matter what a man's name is. Only how much gold he has". So, in Laenor's POV, it's a show of respect on Daemon's and Rhaenyra's part that they'd rather see Laenor happy with his boyfriend where Laenor's being gay won't be a taboo matter and that they will both have the privacy that they both currently don't have and Laenor is happy that Daemon and Rhaenyra would both rather Laenor be free to love the person HE CHOOSES instead of continuing to be trapped in a marriage to Rhaenyra that's just for show than just kill him and for Rhaenyra to be married to who SHE LOVES, Daemon, instead of her also being in a marriage that's just for show and from Rhaenyra's POV, Laenor is showing Rhaenyra that SAME respect in HER DIRECTION in return.
