My parents had a new stereo as that, during my teens, in the late 1970s, but theirs worked instantly, it just had to be plugged in. Nothing complicated. The receiver had an 8 track player and radio; the record player was a seperate mechanism. All of it played from two speakers. It had a good sound. Mom still has it, and it all still plays.

I wish we would’ve kept our record player. We had a some really nice records, some from the 60’s and 70’s. I should’ve kept it when my dad announced he was going to chuck it.

That's interesting. When I was 14 my parents gave me their old Hallicrafters multiband radio that they'd had since the '40s. I used to listen to short-wave broadcasts on it from all over the world. But that's probably not interesting. Also we had a coal furnace. The truck used to come by every month in the winter and dump coal into the cellar through the window. But that's probably not interesting.

@@ericminch I always wanted one of those "World Band" radios. When I lived closer to the beach in the early 1970's my buddies across the street had one, and one day while he had it tuned just right, he picked up a radio station in Havana!

This episode is ridiculous. Brenda needed to throw both Patty and Sandy out. Sandy had the nerve to let Patty stay in the apartment w/o consulting Brenda first. It was Brenda's apartment. Why is Brenda sleeping in the guest bed? Brenda has been shown numerous times sleeping in the bed behind the curtains. I know it's done to be able to do the skit but I so dislike it when they treat the audience like a mindless twit with no memory.

MTM in all their shows had characters with no backbone who lets ppl walk all over them and it was supposed to be comedy. Brenda, Mary, and even Bob at times ...it's frustrating to watch not funny at all.

As annoying as Sandy can be, think about this...she got on thirty something and Brenda never got on a regular show again.I can't stand anyone who talks alot, but luckily I never knew anyone like Sandy's blond pal.I thought it was funny...'I thought it was a bicentennial minute' when Brenda first saw Sandy with her pal.I was a freshman in high school during 1976 when those bicentennial minutes were on tv.

Michelle Post Brenda never got on a regular show again??? She's been Marge Simpson for around 100 years. (I might be exaggerating a little)
