RICE for HOMELESS FAMILY in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

Күн бұрынThis day started off as a normal shopping day but turned into a small charity project. In Negombo center I was approached by a man with his kid that asked me to buy him rice. Now, I'm well aware of the kind of scammers that resell the rice after giving it to them so I decided to buy him a restaurant meal instead. I wasn't sure wether to trust this man or not but I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
A bit later he approached me again and invited me into his house. I couldn't really say no, so I decided to go with him. He showed me his living situation which was really bad. He and his family lived in an abandoned building in very bad conditions so I decided to go and buy some more rice.

@@charlesjay8818 I agree with you. As visitors, we need to know how to act properly. Instead of asking for money, we should find ways to earn it. It's not just a little annoying, it's not a good way to behave. If we are disable, we can work and earn a living. Many people are waiting for something to be given to them without trying to work for it. This is why Sri Lanka has this issue. If I treat you nicely, you'll speak positively about me, no matter how you make money. Let's think about it that way. Thank you!

I doubt than anyone will watch this video and think of not coming to Sri Lanka. And Tim could have just ignored him and walked away, but he decided to give him money.... some rice..... and go to his home. This man was NOT a troublesome begger, Tim asked for it

But annoying tourists like that is not acceptable. But when they feel you are a good person, they keep asking more. That's why. I think you understand. Bless you Tim! ❤🇱🇰 FYI: Don't go to fancy looking barber shops. They costs a lot even for Locals. Normal barber shop may charge you around LKR200 for a decent beard trimming.

@@editz2813 here in a normal barber shop, we pay around inr 50-60 for hair cutting. For beard only, it's may vary between 40-50 inr.

@@editz2813 In Sri Lanka lifestyle is expensive I took a haircut last month..It was 500..It vary from place to place..Two months before I took for 350 in another place..There is no fixed price for it since service changes from person to person place to place and to different quality
