Story One: That thief deserved to get caught and humiliated. Story Two: Jail. That psycho should be in jail or a mental institution, especially if this happened before. Story Three: Dump that woman ASAP, preferably around people you can trust, and make sure you have means of recording evidence inconspicuously. Just in case she's a psycho that tries to spin this into a BS MeToo parade. Story Four: IF he's still helping his family, then she should learn to compromise (ignoring the fact that compromise is an essential part of ANY relationship, so long as it's not one-sided and toxic). But the fact that he seems to be dragging his feet on the issue over pride hurts his stance a bit. If he's not still helping his family, then he should buck up. Either way ultimatums should be a LAST resort. Story Five: Get him help and talk to the mother. Being upset is understandable, but to THAT degree? Yeah, no, he should get help. While I can understand the mother wanting to be better than how she was, I think a simple sit down and talk will do better than "telling her off" because that seems to have only spurred her into trying to "be better" even more.

It doesnt matter if you have the right to do it, if you are trying to force something like that, that will kill all motivation to do it. Both have to want to move in together, and if one loses that want from a ultimatum, the other can only blame themselves.

Story 2: I remember my ex. she was controlling and manipulative. i remember as kids i helped her break that habit till we moved and i couldn't reinforce it. i came back to visit not only to find her married. but also have a side girlfriend and wanting me in it. which i almost stupidly did till i saw how she puppeteers the two poor souls (who both had schizophrenia and other mental issues) when i wanted out she called me a child when i was strong enough to see that what she was doing wasn't right and i wanted nothing to do with it ...

Last story: Yeah, my mom does that too. It's actually a joke for my siblings and me to be scared whenever my mom says "I just thought that..." because she's about to butt in and do whatever she wants regardless of what we have said. It has taken YEARS of family therapy to get her to back off as much as she has. Whatever reason the OP's mom doesn't respect boundaries is, ignoring it will only have the mom continue to do what she thinks is best no matter what she's told. Good luck to OP; and yeah, the husband definitely needs some anger management from the sound of it.

No, the husband doesn't need anger management what he needs is for his wife to open her mouth. One reaction after dealing with something isn't anger issues it's a boiling point of frustration. If he had anger issues he wouldn't have waited for her to leave and I'm sure the wife would not have been surprised at his reaction. Ya'll need to pay attention to context clues.

I think narrator got it 100% right, the guy is insecure about his finances and 'ability to provide'. That is why throughout the entire story he leaves out the very important detail that GF is willing to pay the difference and even says the the GF is unwilling to compromise on location.

The 3rd story honestly upset me since I’ve been in a similar relationship, I was dating a guy for about 2 and half years and any time we’d go out I’d ask him if there was anything he wanted to do or go and he would say no or idk, and when we decided on something and have a good time he would later text me complaining that we didn’t do what he wanted to do and I remember at one point asking ‘why didn’t you say anything?’ but I don’t remember what he said, it’s been about 3 years at this point, so yeah. There were other times I would go out with family to like a movie or the pool and he would ask we I was doing only to guilt trip me because I didn’t bring him along or if I didn’t respond in a certain amount of time to his text he would get upset. He wanted to me with me 24/7 and didn’t want me doing anything without him.

Story 3- I was in a 3 year relationship & same here, I could go no where do nothing & after 3 years I was so isolated and depressed, ended up with severe migraine headaches. So I made up my mind and finally left and within a week no more headaches & I actually went out with friend's I hadn't seen in years! She's not clingy, she's a narcissist that's successfully emotionally abusing you, time abusing you, and isolating you from your friends and family. You said your parents live in the same city not even that far away. Call your parents and tell them everything, tell them you want out, call the police as a citizen stand-by while you move out since you won't be able to get her to go somewhere without you long enough to leave. You have options. Move back in with your parents.

For that second story, jail seriously will not rehabilitate or mentally help that man at all. He was clearly going through something mentally, perhaps a fugue, psychosis, a delusion, even a sickness, something of the sort. Jail time will only make that much worse. Him asking if he's going to jail genuinely sounds like he might have been confused in some way of what was even going on, and could have even been convinced that he was really sleepwalking. Maybe I'm reading into it too much, sure, but that behavior isn't prompted by JUST being drunk. And as he had stated, he had done something similar when he was younger. It really does sound like he had something psychological going on.

I totally agree, a former roommate of mine usually mixed total crazy food combos while sleepwalking, another one once "used the bathroom"(weird american way to say he pissed...😁) right outside of our frontdoor instead of in said bathroom next to it, luckily in the middle of the night... There are even some cases where people got away with murder cuz of them proven to be sleepwalking, also "sexomnia" is a rare but more then weird desease that in fact exists!

At one point at one of my jobs a lady would come every Friday claiming we messed up her order from the time before and demanding a new one to be made. She never had a receipt and we never had her name for a remake. She also came around the time and always spoke to the same associate. My manager at the time told her after the second time that we would not be remaking and giving her the order again because she knew for a fact that it was made correctly since she made it.

Happened to a friend of mine, she didn't know her new husband was epileptic until the poop incident on their honeymoon. She called 9-1-1. About story 3: that sounds like a toxic relationship if the woman is acting that badly if things don't go her way and the OP should break it off, a relationship like that requires compromise on both sides yet the woman obviously thinks that only the OP should sacrifice the things he likes for it

Story 4: I do believe he said he had a job since he mentioned how he feel while going to "WORK". Still i do believe in this case, both isn't for each other because the guy has the mental image of been a burden and don't want her to help with the paidment because he want to archive that for himself. But this is the case where he want to walk and the GF wants to run a marathon. They isn't made for each other either. The ultimatum was unnecessary if their communication and understatement is that piss poor. This is a BOTH sucks case, but for the reasons of neither is right or wrong in this situation. Mainly because he doesn't want her to paid her fair share too, but she want to progress in the relationship and he just stagnate it with that mentality.

The guy is in a poor financial situation and helping out his family due to health reasons and here she is all set in life that she has to force upon her idea of "being loved" whether or not the guy asked for it. The narrator just jumped into defending the girl just because she wanted to pay more? That's not how things work. Did she even consider how he would be feeling with everything that is happening to him before giving ultimatums? Like the years they spent together meant nothing should he choose not to move in immediately? He didnt say he didnt want to its just he couldnt pay for it now and is waiting for a job opportunity. He isnt jobless because he doesnt like going to work wtf. They all say its his pride, but you cant demand and empose things that you want to someone who isnt comfortable with it. What if it was her who was being forced to move in? I dont think things would be pretty

Their idea of relationship, goals and commitment are so different from each other as well, plus she doesn't see the guy is struggling to much. But she said she wanted to paid it herself everything else, but the guy still want to make it himself too , making the situation even worse as well. Again, neither is right or wrong with it, as i only see 2 different way this goes and 2 different struggles.

Story 1: you would think that the employees of the McDonalds collectively would have recognized her and would be like "Nope, we have had too many issues with after you claim to have ordered food and taken it of the customer coming up and wondering where their food is, and we realized that you took it, leave or we will have you arrested," Story 3: This sound like my ex wife...don't know what to do? Let me give you a word of advice...RUN, want four more DO NOT LOOK BACK Story 4: Hey Am I the Jerk? maybe you missed the first part of the story but he had one (a job) which he had to quit due to helping out family, I am not saying OP was 100% right, but maybe take circumstances in to consideration before ripping people new ones Final Story: Yeah sounds like a pattern to me too, one that OP's wife is allowing to continue by not stepping up and while yes, destroying things may not be the best thing to do, at least it was plants and not oh say people or property (cars, windows, OP's Wife's Mother's house etc)

For that third story I've done that with my boyfriend but it's a joke and we both know it's a joke. If my boyfriend wants to watch a show I try to watch it with him because it makes him happy and he does the same for me. ( for context I only text him "I miss you" when he's at my house while he's upstairs getting snacks)
