Being a decades long fan of RC4 & getting to see Dan & crew get to interact with him outside with the bike is fantastic. And so happy to see him prepped to give Dan a custom Monster helmet that only sponsored riders get. Dan may not realize just how prized a helmet like that is but his genuine gratitude, the engaging questions…just a perfect video collaboration!!’

@lickalgae5710 You know, and I appreciate all the kind words and compliments and everything, but the comparisons to my Pro Racing Career, which was Wonderful and included Heroic Wins, Podium Finishes, and Wild Chicks and all, really shouldn't be confused with The GOAT or The King. Let's just all agree that having a Pro Racing Career was an Amazing Experience and left me with an inexhaustible fortune, Sports Cars, and Exotic Women at my disposal. Otherwise, I really don't like to talk about it or anything.

Great interview. Been riding and racing (all amatuer...nowhere near the speed of the pros) since the 70's, and following MX/SX vehemently since I started riding. The main thing I remember about Carmichael was the talk at the beginning of the season how the new guy or the talented guy coming off injury was going to beat RC because he did this or that better. Then, once the season started, the only thing that would happen was RC would just bury that throttle against its stop longer than before, and continue his winning ways. The guy was a win machine. His presence destroyed a lot of very good riders' dreams of being champion. 0:53 Pretty wild RC never ran across the history to the shift pattern. My understanding, having heard it multiple times from old pros being interviewed, was that if the pattern put neutral at the end, the fear was riders downshifting would put the bike into neutral too often. Anyone who raced motorcycles, especially off road, knows that can be the kiss of death if it happens at the wrong time.

Being a short guy, I always loved seeing smaller guys win anything, so Ricky was always fun to see when he would absolutely crush the big and tall guys on a MX track!
@ethanspilker7839Күн бұрын
Taller generally means heavier. Weight is the enemy of performance. Motorsports are made for dwarves. Which makes the careers of people like Kyle Partridge and Benny Bloss that much more impressive. They never should have been professional motocross and supercross racers. Someone of their stature would be more suited to rally.

Great interview! I was cringing when the guy sat on the back of the seat and Ricky said nothing. For those who don't know, the bike will corner much better when sitting on the front (watch Ricky ride it), and if the bike starts "getting away from you", you're already about to fall off and there's not much leverage to pull yourself back forward at that point.
