The only reason I'm proud of myself is because i can sing almost all of the ballad of Jane Doe.

My headcanon or theory is that Jane Doe/ Penny Lamb was a member of the choir, but from a different (older) time period. I say this because not only is she holding a creepy Victorian doll (which are known for being antique) but also her uniform is different than the others. She has longer sleeves with puffs at the top and they have embroidered details on them as well. And sense she does not remember anything about herself (or really anything) she doesnt realize that she is technically older than the rest. And the reason she was unclaimed is because they only recently found her body after this accident and her parents would have passed by now. Therefore no one in the choir would know her. But thats probably just me :)

I'm gonna ramble about my rtc theory for a hot minute. My theory is that the Karnak never had the power to bring someone back to life and that Jane never died in the first place. "There were six children in the cyclone disaster!" I simply don't think that's true. I think that number was a lie made by the Karnak. The real reason for his making of this competition was to allow them the chance to come to terms with their death and find the joy in their lives. One piece of evidence is the happy birthday song where they gave Jane a cupcake. Karnak said the winner would get a hello kitty cupcake, so I think that was foreshadowing that Jane was always the winner. My biggest piece of evidence is the very end. Jane is brought back to life, goes through the light, and is never seen on stage again. The five other students position themselves as If their on a roller coaster about to crash, like they were being transported back to moment BEFORE they died. Jane wasn't on the roller coaster. Karnak said he could bring someone BACK to life, which would mean Jane would've had to have been on the cyclone, but she wasn't. The Karnak wouldn't have been able to make that happen, especially when he said he never read her fortune, so she simply never got on the roller coaster and never died in the first place. All of it was just his was of helping the kids move into the afterlife without regrets.

A while ago, I used Constance's monologue for my acting class final; It was my favorite assignment. The only part I got marked down for was not being loud enough at the start, but I was able to really get into the character by the end. My teacher had said that I connected well with Constance, and I will be forever grateful for that experience. I love this musical so much, the fan base around it is so supportive too!
