"Ridley was founded in 1997. Since its inception, Belgium's largest bicycle manufacturer has been firmly at the forefront of product innovation. Its first innovative development was the conical headset, which was introduced in 2001 on the Ridley Damocles bike. This development subsequently became the standard in the bike industry." - Ridley-Bikes.com
Many of Ridley's bikes have focused on aerodynamics and high performance. It goes without saying if Ridley were to produce a gravel bike, those traits would be among its notable features. Meet the Ridley Kanzo Fast, a bike that Ridley claim is the fastest gravel bike in the world, with gravel-specific geometry, aerodynamic tubing and very good tyre clearance.
"The Kanzo Fast gravel bikes are lightning-fast on any terrain. Their effective power transfer helps you convert every single watt into maximum speed. They are also expert at cutting through the wind while keeping you comfortable to ensure that you can confidently go the distance. A fine piece of engineering that will have you flying - no matter the terrain or weather conditions!"
"Designed with a focus on aerodynamics and gravel, each tube has an optimized NACA profile. To ensure that aerodynamics is on point, the bikes were extensively tested in our wind tunnel. Our engineers also ensured for a hefty chunk of comfort. The Kanzo Fast gravel bikes have a lowered seat stay for vertical compliance, comfortable seatpost and true gravel geometry."
In this video, JOM of the Gravel Cyclist crew put the Ridley Kanzo Fast through a comprehensive, long-term review over four months, including the lovely Campagnolo Ekar 1x13-Speed mechanical shift drivetrain with hydraulic disc brakes. Another no BS review that goes way beyond the fluff reviews of a local parking lot or comfy cruise ride around a local gravel track!

Great review JOM, as always. That is one sexy bike, for sure. Like the Aspero, it certainly lets shoppers know pretty quickly if it's the bike for them or not, which is probably a good thing given how many choices there are out there these days.

Great Review. Thanks! I'm 5-9 with a 31 inch inseam and the Ridley sizing app has me on a small. I believe you also tested and rode a small and said it fit you perfectly. May I ask your height and inseam for comparison. Thanks! I'm also looking at the Trek Checkpoint. How would you compare these two bikes? Thanks again!

This must be a great bike for gravel racing, and it looks good; so it must be fast. I'd stay away from proprietary parts though, and that no-cable cockpit requires some serious patience when working with it.

This would be a wonderful bike with a front derailleur. Just perfect for gravel roads and could also be used with road tyres on a second wheelset. Perhaps front 2x on next year model?
@dries365
@dries365 2 жыл бұрын
they have a Classified Equiped Kanzo Fast on their website, giving you the range of a 2x setup with only a 1x chainring and a 2 speed hub gear. It works really well on gravel bikes and is a lot more robust and reliable than a front derailleur on a gravel bike. Haven't tested it myself, but i've only read great things about it.

I've had my eye on this bike as a possible do it all bike, or endurance/gravel blend, but that rear clearance just looks awfully tight in the photos. With the wheels, all gunged up with mud, would the tires still clear or jam up against the frame? I noted that you didn't take this on the 2023 Rock Cobbler 10.0; was this because this course was too rocky for the Ridley or was the frame clearance wasn't as much as that T-lab bike you chose?
@GravelCyclist
@GravelCyclist Жыл бұрын
Hello there, I returned this bike to Ridley / Campagnolo well over a year ago, it was a review sample. The bike doesn't have a ton of mud clearance, and even if I still had it, I would have ridden the T-Lab bike as you saw in my Rock Cobbler 10.0 video - Mud clearance is a legit thing to think about for those times when the weather turns nasty!

@DanRoch
@DanRoch 2 жыл бұрын
@Free T I have the CGR SL now and from my perspective it's pretty racy compared to most other gravel bikes. I would say the Ridley and the 3T exploro race max are more aero but they are way more expensive. Have a look at Ribble web site. The CGR SL is pretty similar to it's proper road bikes.

Beautiful bike! I dont get the 1x coupled with the very road bike like geometry. This bike would be perfect to have a set of wheels set up for road but that whole small 1x chainring gets in the way of that. Also, the integrated handlebars is a huge no-go for me as well. To me, a gravel bike needs to be more modular instead of fixed. A person should be able to change their set up to match the terrain they will be riding. This bike seems very limited in that fashion. But it sure does look beautiful and fast. If I was rich I would own one just to ride it in the ways it made...but Im not.
