I remember Nux used to be a massive VShojo fan (or shill) and made many VShojo collab videos. Hell I can even say that he contributed to VShojo fame in some way Then this massive bomb shell dropped and everything changed. Like Nux is a veteran in terms of "getting cancelled" during his time in anime community, he is more than capable of receiving some punches and even laughed at it. But the massive difference is that this time it is from the same group that he grew with and even considered BFFs, only to get turned back on and got called a VShojo doxxer. It really hurt him emotionally, that was why his defense video was super serious that time. Man was Heart-broken VShojo then obviously took a big hit in terms of reputation until kson joined and helped recovering it while Nux went back doing normal videos and Niji shitposts, but the change is that he barely made any VShojo videos anymore

This drama is what really sent me down the vtuber rabbit hole. Before I was only really watching Nux, then I started watching Flamenco cuz he was covering this drama and he played a clip of Pippa on his stream. Now I love Phase-Connect and a lot of Phase adjacent vtubers.

Even if Nux did release the video a bit too hastily, VShojo should've made a statement about potential doxxing emails ASAP, to alert streamers from giving their personal information.

I must be stupid, because I still don't understand what exactly put the vshojo girls at risk after nux's first video. They all said the video was harmful and putting them at risk, but the way it's explained his video just shows how the scam mail works and how he faked his number to get the information on the doxer

The thing that bothers me was that VShojo was hosting their actual official auditions at the same time as the phishing attacks, and did nothing about it publicly. The fact that they intentionally refused to make any PSA on official contacts and info safety, only because they are afraid that they would "scare the attacker away" is utter BS. All they had to do is publicly state not to respond to anyone not using their official email address. It would've saved so much headache, and not tip off anyone because it's standard operating procedure for western companies.

I think my least favorite thing about this is how Nux and Melody had a really good thing going prior to it all. We'd get fun insights like Melody randomly saying she had 12 tabs of porn open and may or may not have been browsing a site in the middle of the recording

I'm not a big fan of Nux. I generally find most of his stuff boring and ignore it. But when all this was going down, I genuinely was on his side as I felt he was in the right to talk about it. And then the initial support from Vshojo that then turned into denying everything about him because a couple of the girls hadn't been told and thought he was making it up or intentionally trying to cause trouble was genuinely hurtful to see. Nux definitely deserved better than what happened.

Nux might have been making content out of it and getting a few things wrong, but he was warning people about somebody impersonating Vshojo. Something Vshojo never bothered to do, despite the fact that their applicants were in danger of doxing and swatting. Then, Vshojo members proceeded to collectively shit on Nux with the mean girl routine for no good reason. I would never trust this clown company and I wonder how people still apply to audition for it.

I got into vtubing like a month before henya joined vshojo. As you can imagine, I went down a massive rabbit hole of the hogwarts drama and vshojo drama. Literal hours of past drama that blew my mind, I didn't even know who henya was at the time lol

I was actually making a video about Nux and his place in the anime/vtubing communities and after really looking into this whole story I once again was shown the lack of nuance and criticism that most people on social media have. A situation where the main culprits were miscommunication and some incompetence in terms of management became the dogpiling and misrepresentation of someone that did not have bad intentions. Anyways I’m just glad that this issue was resolved and both parties have moved on and grown to be better.

It is a miscommunication, but the fact that the talents so easily threw Nux under the bus without any prior investigation still irks me to this day. They are quick to crucify Nux in public, but unwilling to also publicly apologize (except Zen), heck we dont even know if they're even apologized. Nux played a insufferable and obnoxious SOB as his character, but those who watched Nux long enough knows that he's a good person, especially towards anyone he considers friend.

A proof to attest that neither of them did it in ill will is that Nux has acted under the “don’t leak nor say things said in confidence” type of mindset. He had the Niji contract for so long and he wasn’t the person to give it to LegalMindset. As for Vshojo, they lacked the experience and prudence to handle the matter but I’m sure they learned their lesson and hopefully regained their talent’s trust for they were left on the blind side. I’m just sad that Melody never cleared (or at least never mended) her relationship with nux. I watched them both before nux got his model and when he was uploading Hent*i reviews on his channel. Melody was the first Vtuber I got exposed to and later on when I got into the community, I was genuinely so sad to know they drifted apart. Ofc I don’t know nor is it my right to know if they are or not on friendly terms privately, but it’s sad how everything turned out bc of some assh0le cringe lord.

I was very much following this whole thing as it developed. It always upset me just how much hate was being thrown around by both communities even though they greatly overlapped.

the part that upset me the most was Melody dunking on Nux, the same guy that helped her with the problem she had with the guy who made her original first model. Nux and Lost Pause where alos the people who helped Melody to become more publicly known and introduce her to the wider anime scene at the time.

Amazing video! The best one on the topic that i've seen, very in-depth and impartial. It's kinda a nitpick but the only thing that was lacking in this video is a section about fallout after that whole drama. This video was awesome and i am glad it was made. As a fan of Nux (since 2019 before vtubing), Nyanners(since before vtubing also), Ironmouse(before Vshojo) and Projekt Melody(also since 2019), this drama didnt feel real. It felt so out of nowhere cuz i only saw the drama through Nux's channel. As an outsider, it left a bad taste in my mouth when the drama ended so quickly and what exactly went wrong(in terms of the relationship between Nux and Vshojo) felt like a mystery. All of a sudden my favourite content creators that used to collab, are now on "bad terms" and it feels like taboo to mention it, at least to me. I used to think it was just a miscommunicatiom issue on Vshojo staff's side of things, but now i think that it was just a conflict in point of view between Nux and the Vshojo girls. Nux wanted to spread awareness about the doxxer and scare away any other potential doxxers. Meanwhile Vshojo were worried that the video might have the opposite effect and give doxxers more incentive through the attention the video gives them. In the end i think that everybody involved were naíve and stressed out at time, making them post and tweet without thinking about the consequences like riling up their fanbase to harass Nux. The girls even admitted that they regret how harsh they were. It looked like Nux was being executed online, especially when people brought up things unrelated to the drama(You know who im talkin bout). I still watch their content without bias to any of them, but every now and then, i reminisce about their collabs and get so sad over how friendships, as artificial as they were, were broken by a shitty doxxer.

Ngl, I’m not deep into the vtuber iceberg. I dabble here and there, watch the occasional -coco- Kson clips and Salome clips. But when I heard about this the first time I had a really terrible first impression of the v-shoujo crowd. Then again, even now I don’t view Nyanner and Melody in any sort of positive light.

This controversy still blows my mind, and I think it's a far, FAR reach the VShojo girls had to make to think Nux was somehow endangering them. If you're popular on the internet, you're in danger, but this person had targeted Nux and fans, which deserved documentation and warning from VShojo (and Nux). He did everything properly in my opinion, and how the girls all reacted and have acted since kinda hurts their image in my eyes. The only person who apologized and seems to be on good terms with Nux is Zen, and I give her all the credit in the world for.

This whole drama was the reason I realized Snuffy was just a drama hog. She literally had no horse in this race but went out of her way to make nux look worse on a matter that they already concluded privately long prior to the drama that was going on. Made me lose all respect for her tbh.

This whole incident sucks. I remember watching Nux and the girls who originally formed Vshojo getting along so well and making really fun content to watch. I (personally) think that this was a huge misunderstanding between every individual involved, a company trying to do right by their employees, and fans that want to blow any drama that happens into the biggest thing ever. I am biased against the Vshojo talents due to other things that have come to light about their integrity (speaking of Nyanners amd Froot), but i can also understand that Nux is a pop culture drama channel at this point. Imo i think Nux was fine with what he did. I dont think that Vshojo or their talents (who were supposedly friends of nux) handled things correctly at all. The apologies from the talents (some of whom i still follow) seem very corporate and forced as opposed to being actual apologies to a friend.

When this stuff was going on, I was on Nux's side throughout the entire situation. The reason was simple, him and the higher ups of the companies were working together. Even the video he posted on the topic was given the green light by Vshojo and made the stance the members took on this very shallow. Not only was their involvement in the topic minimal to non-existent but they took it to twitter, practically inciting a witch hunt on him and for what?! An apology? To ruin his reputation?? He was a near victim of that scammer and his friends had practically responded with "The car missed you but we'll bring the bus around." It didn't even matter that the higher ups didn't give a firm "Don't Post It" or thought on the repercussions that come from making a private matter public. Nux was part of this as a near victim that wanted to help, but the people he called friends blew the situation up onto the internet instead of keeping it between friends.

Personally I remain critical of Vshojo, especially the talent for how they decided to handle the situation. It would be one thing if they had reached out to him in private and talked to him directly about their concerns. However instead of doing that they made the worse possible choice they could have made: they chose to openly criticize him about a sensitive subject on a VERY public post that would no doubt be seen by their fans who would predictably dog pile on him regardless of the truth of the matter. Essential they pretty much wrote an open invitation for their fans to harass Nux which is something they should have realized BEFORE making it a public spectacle. I feel especially strong about this because I was under the impression that at one point at least most of them were friends with Nux and to see EVERY SINGLE ONE of them come out and turn on him publicly in front of thousands of people, it just rubs me the wrong way. However at the end of the day I know that Vshojo as a company is mainly at fault for the miscommunication, not to mention when they finally came out to clear up the situation they did everything in their power to make Nux look like a misbehaving child who did things he was told not to do. Even now on occasion Nux has opened up from time to time about how he lost some friendships over it, every time he has talked about it you can just tell that it's something that still troubles him which is just heartbreaking in my opinion.

What's sad is Nux clearly got ptsd cause of this, a group of od people u were friends with suddenly turn against u and not even give him the benifit of the doubt let him explain himself, as seen by his content he has said times how it clearly affected his trust on people. The worst crime in this saga- independent of the phishers themselves- was Melody's two-facedness and willingness to lie publicly to save face. For me, that behavior leads me to question the feud between her and her original rigger/character creator. If she was willing to join a public dogpile despite having advanced, in-depth knowledge of the situation, why should we believe a thing she told us about that situation? The very possibility she may have backstabbed the person who put her on the map and covered it up for so long is such a profoundly disturbing thought to me, I have consciously avoided her and her content ever since.

For Nux's Side: he wanted to exposed the dox and bring awareness to the community while also gaining clout from Vshojo. and having to make a video content about how he protected Vshojo/Vtuber community from a doxxer was a great deal for him to make on a video like any other content creator. However this came with a price, because some of the people could not stand Nux's personality with his high Ego, thinking he must be an asshole for trying to farm content out of Vshojo. For Vshojo's Side: This started with Nyanners making a discord announcement about her experience with a past doxxer, they aren't the same as the one Nux and Vshojo CEO are trying to deal with but Nyanners took this into account, believing the situation may happen again. in their perspective, they also believe that Nux didn't really cared about their feelings of being clout farming or not thinking the consequences of exposing the doxxer with a high audience. because in their perspective, talking more about the doxxer could probably lead to more drama, like chat asking the streamer more info about the doxxer which make them feel uncomfortable since they didn't want to talk about the doxxer much. Now for the situation about Nux, The security, Vshojo member, and CEO. This is technically part of Vshojo's fault for not clarifying with Nux. while Nux and Vshojo team were discussing, Nux was left on the impression that "they were okay with the video" while the Vshojo team did gave their advice on the situation with the doxxer but not about "if they were okay with the video". This lead to a game of telephone, after the discussion one of the Vshojo members told the other members about it and of course left the impression how Nux did not respected their wishes when it's the opposite. After the video were released, Vshojo on twitter replied "thank you" to Nux, but after a while when the Vshojo member made their tweet how they were not okay with it, they deleted their post. Let's assume that whoever reply that "thank you" post to Nux was a different staff member who was not informed of the situation. to cover up their mistake, Vshojo had to make a tweet explaining their side of the story. of course this ended badly since everyone had seen the discord dm leaks, and refused to believe on Vshojo or were confused on the situation. I don't believe that it's entirely wrong for the girls to feel offended if you look at their perspective. but it was part of their fault for not asking with nux's private dms first about their perspective first, since the situation was mostly control by the staff and not the streamer. I'm sorry for really long comment! This drama really had so many questions when the situation happen, I was very curious about what were both of them were thinking during that situation. I can't wait for the video!

It was interesting to hear more about this. I thought i had all the info but got to learn new things. I still think nyanners played a big part in helping this whole situation get way out of control. It's one of the reasons im glad she left vshojo, and it always makes me laugh that after her and a few others left all the massive drama that happened week after week with vshojo stopped.

Nux found out who his friends really were

I was deep in this drama when it happened. Its one of the reasons why I cant watch vshojo. Though I dont watch Nux, the poor guy got doggpiled by everyone. What urks me the most, is while the call out posts were made publicly, alot of the members appologies, minus Zen and Mouse with their more detailed explinations, were made privately. They had a whole month working with Nux. You would think one of them would say "hey, could you not upload this for x reasons?" Or the video topic would come in private conversation with other members. But no, none of that happened.

This drama shouldn't even happened. The one of the main reasons why it happened is because of Nyanners going in blind without knowing the entire situation because she only saw that her friends were being attacked in some way. She should have apologized to Nux for being blind by friendship. At least Mouse and Zen had the respect to apologize to Nux for the misunderstanding unlike Nyanners. Who cares if Mouse's apology was weak at least she tried to apologize unlike Nyanners.

I haven't watched it yet, but i have to say this situation made me really sad back then. Nux was the one that made me know vtubers and his friendship with mousey and melody was really nice to see. Idk if they are still friends, but after this they never hung out on stream again nor did i see any interaction with each other.

This drama severely damaged the reputation of VShojo in my eyes and proved why it's a good idea to have managers and communication. It doesn't matter if he was clout chasing or not, Nux was trying to warn small creators of a serious threat to their data and possibly lives, and the girls went too far and got him to not only take down the video but also to apologise for doing the right thing. It makes me really wonder why people keep joining them afterwards, especially Kson and Henya, who had to leave their previous lives because of ridiculous drama.

I’ll just come out and say this…as a fan of both Nux and multiple VShojo talents, let’s keep this a buck, this was all VShojo’s fault. 1. Nux, not VShojo was the victim of this doxing and swatting scam, not VShojo. The only thing VShojo is the victim of is someone impersonating them. So the fact that GunRun says that Nux never got their “permission” always rubbed me the wrong way. He didn’t need their permission. It’s his video and he was the victim and ph0enix even said the same thing. VShojo’s cybersecurity can offer “warnings,” but it’s Nux’s life and safety that is of concern, not VShojo’s. 2. No matter how VShojo tried to spin it, there’s three obvious facts. First of all, they knew Nux was making a video. Secondly, they were willing to work with Nux on verifying the information before he posted it and thirdly, they never EXPLICITLY stated that he shouldn’t post the video. 3. If VShojo was so adamant that Nux shouldn’t post the video, they NEVER would have made that thank you post in the first place. There was no reason for them to. While there are many things that are still considered a mystery, I think there are some things we can glean from this situation and while none of what I am going to say is verifiable, I think it’s completely within the scope of possibility and maybe even probability. 1. Nyanners spearheaded the procedure of throwing Nux under the bus. We need to keep in-mind that VShojo was VERY aware of someone or something impersonating them and did next to NOTHING to warn anyone about it. Nux’s video inadvertently showed VShojo’s reluctance to deal with this issue, which makes the company look bad. As one of the founders of VShojo, Nyanners realized this and she knew she had to do something to save the company’s face. So what was the tactic? Make it look like her and the rest of the VShojo talents were not okay with him making the video and use the bogus claim that they video endangers their safety (for the record, I saw the video when it was released and that was by far and away the biggest bunch of bullshit that anyone espoused). There was NOTHING in that video that put ANY of the VShojo talents in danger and I was actually disappointed that Nux caved to their whims. I really felt like he should’ve left the video up because it sure seemed like VShojo was trying to bully him in taking it down and he unfortunately caved. There was also the fact of all the VShojo apologies, Nyanners never apologized to Nux…she only apologized about the situation, which sure makes it feel like she does not feel ANY remorse for what she put Nux through. 2. Melody is one of few talents in VShojo I will never forgive and support again, even though I was a big fan of her. This isn’t going to be a nice thing to say, but it’s how I feel about it…Melody is a backstabbing, two-faced bitch. Why? Because Nux played a MASSIVE role in her rise in Vtuber popularity. He exposed her to the public through his massive KZfaq following before she was even a member of VShojo and Nux is the reason why I even heard of Melody. I actually became a fan of hers after Nux highlighted her in some videos and did an interview with her. So what does she do even though she was DIRECTLY involved with Nux communicating with GunRun and ph0enix about the video? She completely turns 180, pretends she was blindsided by it and says she felt “betrayed” even though she KNEW Nux was making the video and said NOTHING to him about posting it. While I know what I said is crude and mean, I’m sorry but if there are ANY sort of people I hate in this world, it’s people who are completely two-faced, pretend to be your friend and then completely backstab you when it’s “convenient” for them. Fuck Melody. As a former fan, I’ll never support her again and I cringe every time some of my favorite VShojo talents do collabs with her. 3. At the end of the day, VShojo’s “professional courtesy” statement is as bullshit backtracking as it comes. VShojo owed Nux nothing and if they really didn’t want Nux to make the video, they can simply say, “we don’t want you to make the video and we aren’t going to assist you with verifying the facts.” That’s not what happened. They clearly helped Nux in the creation of the video, they clearly knew he was going to post the video and thanked him for bringing awareness with the video and it was only after he posted it did they realize that the video shows how complicit they were in dealing with it. While I am glad that both Nux and VShojo did move on from this and both entities became better in the long run, VShojo’s response to the situation to this day still rubs me the wrong way. While I am glad that Nyanners and Silvervale left (who I felt were cancers to the company), I’m still not very happy that Melody is still there (although I doubt she’d leave since she seems to be good friends with practically everyone there and my hatred of her stems more from her ungrateful betrayal of Nux than anything else). I just find it sad that even though both Nux and VShojo are massive entities, they’ll probably never work together or collab on anything anymore. I do also state that I don’t “hate” VShojo (even though it may come across that I do). I think of all the Vtuber companies out there, they are by far and away the most supportive of their talents, which I think is incredibly honorable. I just hate how they completely whiffed on handling this situation and instead of using PR pillow talk to dance around the issue, they would have just issued a wholehearted apology and admit that they completely mishandled the situation. I would’ve respected the company a lot more if they just owned up to being the cause of the miscommunication and dedicate themselves to being more straightforward with their communication with not only other content creators, but also their own considering only a few of the girls were even aware of all the facts and many that “dogpiled” Nux weren’t even aware that Nux and VShojo management were in discussions before the video was even released.

Nux is the reason im such a big vtuber fan because of his early collabs with Mel. Funny how Mouse and Mel are the only ones still with Vshojo. at least they apologized. Nyan, Vei and Silver just pretended it never happened and swept shit under the rug. Nux deserves better

Most companies as far as I know (but is not super experienced on all the knowledge of it I only know from my current job) have a dedicated training for protection against Phishing/fake emails and it feels weird that knowing VShojo, who works with employees who have the most likely chance of being affected by phishing wouldn't at least give a courtesy warning about a possible problem. Internet safety especially in a profession like Vtubing should be taken seriously in the chance that DOXXing is a threat that can occur not only for those involved in the company but for those who want to join that company eventually; Its how to prevent people from getting scammed by bad faith actors or even swatted.

I think it’s almost objectively fact that Nux was in the right here. Even if the security team DID tell him not to post the video, it was still right to post it since someone DID get swatted as a result of the phishers. It’s rat behavior to just up and turn on him not even for their own safety, but for their corpo’s self image.

Taiga vs nux coverage when

The whole VShojo/Nux/Doxxing fiasco is what I remember from the 1st VShojo auditions. The "Haruka being a nepo hire" issue afterwards didn't even faze me. What I hope from the newly announced VShojo auditions is that the VTubers auditioning is more informed with the requirements needed, while VShojo themselves should have better and clearer communications from them so that we won't get bad actors impersonating VShojo again.

The situation soured my opinion of Vshojo. Only reason why I even watch KZfaq clips of them is Henya.

Melody being in that group chat, trashing Nux and then not apologizing. Good lord what a trash person. And Nyanners basically saying "Sorry to everyone BUT Nux." Also VShojo are definitely at fault here, Nux was a victim trying to prevent further harm when Vshojo weren't doing anything themselves. How the talents somehow mades this about themselves when it was OTHERS getting swatted is nuts.

I feel disgusted knowing i used to watch nux.

I used to feel bad about what happened to Nux. But now knowing that he was warned that were was bad information and that the guy was still out there, no. The girls were in the right to be upset. After learning about Taiga's situation, Nux feels like a clout chaser.

This is why just jumping on someone because the group is without waiting to get all the information and facts first is not a good thing to do. Don't ever Act on emotions and don't ever gang up on someone just because the group is.

Hey I'm not sure if you will read this, but I gotta say that I enjoyed your coverage of this issue and being even with both sides. My only nitpick on the video is at the end, you didn't highlight how bad Ironmouse's statement was that the management didn't notify any of the talent that Nux was even releasing a video. Thats not just a miscommunication, i would say that borders on negligence on the management's side.

I think what most people forget or just leave out is that Nux is a victim of the doxxer. They have no right to criticize his experience or his informing of the public as it was only due to their own negligence that led to people getting targeted to begin with. If Nux took advantage of their friendship, than they did so equally by attempting to guilt trip him using said friendship.

Public repudiation needs public apology when when the reason for that repudiation ended up being bullshit. It's why I'm not as keen on the VShojo talents that was involved in this than I was before, as far as I know only Zen has publicly apologized to Nux for the incident.

Man this whole thing hurt my soul my heart still breaks for Nux because their are people that still still hunt him over this years later. It honestly makes me fear this community.

And to this day people do exactly what the doxxer wanted, and blame Vshojo solely for anything that happened to Nux. You see people bring this up every time Vshojo comes up because they can't get over it, despite Nux and Vei and everyone else telling them to quit it. Actually that part at least can be easily explained. It's not about the vtubers or the people involved, who cares about them? It's about internet points and grandstanding -- Like I'm doing right now. I enjoy both Nux and a good few of the VShojo talents' content and personalities, but I let my first exposure bias get the better of me on this drama. Nux exposed me to VShojo's talents, and I took his side at first, while seeing VShojo turn on him after thanking him, which painted the latter as hypocritical. I do not bring it this drama up because that's not my place to do it, and I do not do harassment as a matter of principle, having been on the receiving end myself, but I must say it used to leave a bad taste in my mouth any time VShojo or a VShojo talent involved was brought up. Overall I'm just sad this has brought a rift between them as they really bounced off of each other really well. Yes Nux is a force of chaos who's trying to do good, and sometimes it backfires, and this time it backfired hard. I still believe he attempted to do good with his publication as a PSA, and I wish no other promising talent applying will get bamboozled into getting swatted. We've seen vtubers get swindled. They are not all intelligent beings who will fend off any attempt at using their non-existent gullibility. No one's that perfect. I just hope time will let all the wounds heal and more chaos and hearty laughs and clickbait can happen.

After all the the reviews I still dont understand why everything happend -Nux relase the video (what help Vshojo image and talks about a posible scam) Then why the girls got angry and throw shade at him for that? If some girls have problems with him -Why dont talk to him directly if Nux talk to them in the discord but instead they preffer to publicly acuse him in a spam of 3 days Why the hell specially Nyanners throw shit at him? He didnt do anything to the girls public image with that video I still dont understand

The statements by vshojo weren't breaken down enough IMO to show the dissonance between their own statements, but another part of me is under the impression it would've broken the pace of the video.

It sucked that the doxxers/swatters were the only ones who "won" from this whole situation while all the victims fought each other.

I lived through this series of events right as it went down and it was really horrible. One side wanted you to believe that Nux was horrible, even though I was a big fan at that point. The other side wanted you to believe that all of the VShojo members were at fault, even though many of us had our favourite vtubers among them. And almost everyone was rabid, refusing to look at this with any level of neutrality or patience. In the end, explanations and apologies were given that were able to de-escalate the drama. But irreparable damage was done that couldn't be fixed. The relationship between VShojo members and Nux would, as far as the public can tell, not be mended; while at the same time, many fans weren't able to forgive one side or the other despite the resolution. It left a really bad taste and I wish that everyone could have just gone back to being friends afterwards, even if I know that life isn't that simple.

I remember doing a deep dive on this myself. Man, it got bad fast. I hadn't been in the community yet, but going through Nux's old videos and seeing Mel and Mousey in some, and then nothing after a certain point, yeah. And to this day, there are still heated moments that pop up in comments. If people are curious, I do tell them to look into it, but to remember that everyone involved has put it behind them, and to not go overboard. Nux's friends, Evanito and Nagzz, are now on good terms with VShojo, but that did take a while to smooth over. And while VShojo is practically indy in terms of freedoms, its pretty much accepted that one rule is that there are no Nux collabs. And vice versa. But they don't go after friends of Nux, and friends of Nux don't go after VShojo. Especially now when there's a ton of overlap. There's plenty of newstubers (flesh and VTubers) that covered it, and it sucks that friendships ended in such a way. I just hope this remains a one off. In that good friendships aren't torn apart by scum like a swatter anymore.

This is an S-tier drama indeed😂 Nux is my favorite male vtuber and anime youtuber(him and Tekking101 are my favorite anime youtubers), but you see, the fact that he can just laugh this drama off, makes me happy as a Nux fan. 👍🥰 You take care of yourself, Rima. If u did have conversation and confirmation from Nux and Vshojo to tackle this topic, be sure to record and take receipts of every every conversation you had with them, just to cover your back. Nux was set as an example of how backhanded Vshojo can be.

I used to love following Vshojo as Nyanners was my first ever vtuber. but when the scandal began, the girls's actions left a bad taste in my mouth. At least to me, it seemed like their management had f-d up but in order to save face they blamed Nux and the girls ran with it. Melody especially I can't watch anymore because she was in that call and knew everything that Nux planned and yet said nothing. She jumped on the bandwagon and stabbed him in the back. Melody should have been on his side since he had helped her with a doxxer in the past. And it was thanks to Nux that I even knew who she was. Her betrayal is the one that seems like the worst one. of the original group, I can only watch Zen and Iron Mouse because at least they apologized publicly and admitted they were wrong. the others just gave a half assed one while Melody never even said she was sorry. if there was ever a judge of bad character, it's definitely hers.

This was such an unfortunate and sad situation in particular especially due to the fact of how nasty things turned out for the fanbases and individuals involved, as a fan of both sides, thanks again Rima for creating a nice simple digestible deep dive to this

This is the worst PR disaster that vshojo could ever create for itself

Watching that mess was insane, being aware there was clearly communication failures everywhere while everybody kept throwing Nux under the bus as hard as possible like that YFU BABY person that took the opportunity to gain clout themselves even though Nux's video regarding her had zero ill mention of her at all. Nux's video YFU mentioned was a video defending Melody from her model creator's attempts to steal the rights to Melody's model, that model creator happened to have also made YFU BABY's model. YFU BABY ignored anybody questioning and calling out that she explain what "VERY false video" was referring to, instead she deleted the tweet. Meanwhile Nux made his video trying to save unknowing Vtubers from the blatant safety failures that were created by knowing about the fake emails, while saying nothing. Meanwhile Vshojo retracted statements and had internal communication failures and unintentional endorsements of Nux's video and were upset because of the blatant safety hazard of encouraging the specific mentality of the person they were trying to stop from doxxing. Both sides had fully justified safety concerns that somehow go unnoticed by many fans of only one side. As a fan of both, I am still appalled at Vshojo's handling of the situation. Their nonsensical approach to scam security by hiding awareness from all potential victims, even if law enforcement dictated. That is the opposite approach for common sense defense against scammers... Really hard to not see pulling their endorsement tweet, "i feel betrayed and upset, how could you after we said not to" (all while never showing any proof of saying not to post it outside of that coordinated attack) comments less than 2 months after they had just cancelled Arcadum, as anything other than an intentional attack command for hate mobs against Nux. That part is why the situation left such a bad taste for the fans while all sides were victims. Vshojo's final statement was absolutely idiotic after they had caused such a mess. "only 2 people have been confirmed targeted so therefore nobody else was at risk." 1. How do you know nobody else was targeted? 2. Why do additional others need to be targeted to be considered at risk of falling victim to the fake emails? 3. What is this logic fallacy where somehow Its still the stupidest statement I have ever seen come from Gunrun and I am baffled it was even possible to make such a nonsensical comment thinking it would finalize the situation. None of Vshojo's or their talents statements addressed calling Nux out for content clout chasing. Nux could literally go on a rant about how much he hates the french language and get hundreds of thousands of views at that time. This video calling out a doxxer was never going to be a big win on his channel and everybody knew that before, during, and after. Calling him a clout chaser for that reason is complete nonsense and a huge part of why I lost the ability to enjoy content from several Vshojo members since. Froot and former Vshojo members being the biggest offenders. "allegedly recording calls between content creators that has still not been leaked" Isnt that something that all content creators should be doing with all their collabs to ensure their own safety? Imagine what would have happened to Nux if he didnt have those receipts to prove Vshojo had given him acceptance and thanks.

Remember the time when Nux & Melody had a baby? I sure do! I was there! What pisses me off about the entire situation is that Nux was *pivotal* in the eventual creation of VShojo. He was the one who first exposed Melody to the mainstream by showing she could do many things other than pr0n. He was the one who pushed Ironmouse into more collabs and made her step out of her shell. Without him, VShojo would never have been formed and Melody would still be just a fancy Chaturbate model. Which is why the whole situation pissed me off so much: they literally pushed the guy who *made them,* someone who was supposedly a dear friend under the bus. Yeah, everyone apologized to each, but something very precious was ultimately lost.

Correction, Ironmouse's apology is weak and it insinuate that she's doesn't really regret her actions. Zen is the only one who apologized properly after lambasting someone in public. Not even the CEO, Gunrun himself is capable of apologizing for the whole mess. That speaks volume to his principles as a leader. Gunrun is an opportunist that shirks away from responsibility, when heat is put on him. It is infuriating that people try put him on the same spot as Sakana or even Yagoo.

Glad you did this video, it confirms my hunch that this was mostly miscommunication that became a literal trash fire because Twitter is a hell site geared towards fanning drama. Also seems to add more validity to another hunch that I had that drove that drama. Nux is a polarizing figure for a number of people. Some really hate him and others really enjoy his content. Me personally, I have mixed views, I rarely watch content of his, but sometimes he'll put out something that really catches my interest or I want to pop in because he is useful for getting a pulse on some parts of the internet that I actively avoid. There has also been discussion about how there is a real issue of people trying to gatekeep who people are friends with and it seems to get worse the more well known one gets. It's not just awful fans trying to control friendships, or family, sometimes it can be other friends, acquaintances and coworkers. It's clear that some of the girls either did not like or feel comfortable with Nux, while some seemed perfectly fine with him. That the association between Nux and VShojo as a result of the latter gorup, might nto have sat well with the former. Whatever complaints some had, wasn't anything that made VShojo feel a need to intervene. Now I'm not going to say any of them consciously fanned the flamed, but I do wonder if there was subconscious voice that resulted in this being way worse than it should have been because it would curb stomp the active association between VShojo and Nux, which is pretty much did. My hope is that anyone who runs any sort of entertainment business will look at this and draw the following lessons. Try to make sure everyone is on the same page. Whether you're a company that legit contracts out to contractors like VShojo or the typical Vtuber agency that hires employees (no, they aren't contractors because they don't have that much control), that there is a point to make sure people are given some public relations training. Finally, that it is made crystal clear to everyone that their first impulse in a personal dispute shouldn't be to go to social media and weaponize their fandom against whoever they have a beef with. In fact, they should clear their head and see if they can work it out behind the scenes or at least confirm if it's a grievance that has no business being public or if it is something that does need to be public. If it does need to be public, it should go through some workshopping to ensure that the weaponization of fandoms is either outright avoided or minimized as much as possible. I fully get that some fans are pretty unhinged and can't be controlled. It also be made clear in the contract of employment that intentionally weaponizing of one's fandom will not be tolerated and anyone caught doing it will be shown the door.

Speaking from a cybersecurity background, literally rule number 1 is tell people. If you find evidence of hackers and find out their methods, you announce it, publish it whatever. Get the word out so others can protect themselves. What you don't do, is keep it to yourself while you investigate, letting other people potentially get victimized when you could have changed that. Miscommunication or not, VShojo staff was 100% entirely in the wrong here and clearly trying to just protect themselves, and the talents decided that their money was more important than their friend who was doing the objectively correct thing. This tarnished them for me and I have never touched a thing of theirs ever since. CEO and staff don't deserve their positions.

The whole thing killed any love I had for the Vshojo group. Nux did nothing wrong.

I mentioned it on a post i seen a little while ago but the sad part of all this is that this was literally playing out like the plot of the anime "The rising of the shield hero" Where the protagonist was falsely accused of a crime and hated by everyone who he thought he trusted simply because they believed the accusations. But in this case it's Nux, Personally i agree with any of the people defending nux because i also know how it feels to be betrayed by almost everyone i trusted from old friend groups i am not apart of anymore, not a fun feeling and my sympathies to nuxtaku for having to go through this each day, i know he is just carrying on and keeping face with his character as a vtuber but there is only so much anyone in this kind of situation can handle.

Tremendous work and I hope it pays off 👍 Before this video I always thought that the vshojo girls were unfair towards nux and nux only had best intention, at least they had to resolve their difference in private before going public, but they just dogpilled on him (weren't they friends at that point? why not give him the benefit of doubt I thought then). But I knew that Zen and Ironmouse had sincere apology after the whole incident, the other girls I had a bad vibe about them (and still do anyway). Now, it's clear that had been a very emotional charged incident, between Nux excited about this big video that'll bring him clout and helping out the vtuber community at the same time (and also it's personal because he had been swatted himself too), the vshojo girls feared for their safety and the vshojo management lack/bad of communication all made this into a dumpster fire. Great job as always Rima!

The most ironic part about this is how after his name was dragged through the mud by Vshojo because of people going off of little to no acrual information, he went on to do the exact same thing to Bungotaiga.
