All Guitar Playing in this video is supplemented by the raw DI tracks at the end of the video that I welcome anyone to inspect. Live audio from our shows recorded direct from the console is featured debunking the "miming live" argument entirely. An explanation of why there was confusion upon the popular accusations and arguments is given, along with more supporting evidence such as a fan video. Call out Culture and Jared Dines is discussed as well. I am not trying to attack anyone with this, and only want positivity for everyone involved, however I feel my side needs to be heard because it has overwhemingly been suppressed. Hopefully this video clears everything up.

Your guitar writing and playing is so technically advanced that people can't comprehend that it's real. It's at a skill level that 99% of guitarists will never achieve. I've played guitar for 15 years and I'm not anywhere near your skill level. That in no way means I dislike or discredit you, but means I respect you for your talent and the music you write. Everyone is better at something than someone else. Your "something" just happens to be guitar. My "something" just happens to be slamming some Tito's vodka and eating Mexican food. Next time you're in Houston Tx hit me up and I'll prove I'm better at my talent. My treat 👍

Non-guitar players and those who haven't practiced this style of music really underestimate the efficiency of muscle memory. There's licks that I can play so well that I don't even need to try whereas others that are 'simpler' are just impossible for my dumb hands. Props to you sir! Very well spoken. I've always loved RoS and will continue. 😃

Well said. I don't know how I ended up on Lucas's channel, but I have been a Jared Dines fan for a couple years. I guess I saw him im thumbnail so I clicked it. I stand behind Lucus 100%, as anyone should. Jared did him wrong on so many levels, setting him back tremendously. Breaking down exactly what he is playing, how he plays it and how the audio hits the concert attendee was perfect. I'm not familiar word any of that but he break it down Barney style for me and I got it. He kept his cool, educated everyone and provided his side very professionally. I hope the best for Lucus and as well as RoS. I will be adding them to my Spotify Playlist.

Dines is a fool. It would be understandable for some Joe Blow to presume that a live performance that sounds “too perfect” to them is probably edited or faked altogether but Jared is at least somewhat plugged into the happenings in music recording and live performance. He has played and performed with several bands over the years - as have many of his friends. He should know these things - or at least grant you guys the benefit of the doubt until he had a chance to look into it further. Not only should he know better - he actually knows you personally. Before cashing in on a bullshit accusation video, he could easily have picked up the phone and asked you about this. Watching a few clips and accusing someone (someone you very easily could have asked personally) of faking something that they have practiced every single day for months or years just because to your ears, it sounds “too perfect” is just fucked. As you said, making a video is one thing. I guess it could be seen as him bringing the topic up for discussion. I definitely don’t see it that way but the argument could be made. However, insisting that you guys are outright faking your live performances in comment threads is such a fucking snake move. I love that his first statement is about as matter-of-fact as can be. “Lucas _definitely_ mimes some parts live.” And after a single response, he immediately starts backpedaling and throws out the “I could be wrong.” Way to stick to your guns, dude. What’s even better is that he suggests at the end of that thread “we can discuss this privately if you wish.” Yeah I think that train has sailed, dipshit. You want to put me on blast to hundreds of thousands of people without doing any due diligence whatsoever but you want to discuss it privately once I respond? Seriously, dude? And that follow up in the DM’s was just pathetically arrogant and assholish. “Don’t lie to ME. That hurts more than anything.”

Sounds like Jared needs to volunteer at his local venue. If any of these KZfaq guitarists spent a little bit of time running FOH, monitors, or schlepping gear they would understand how these things work. Live sound engineer here. I do not know anything by ROS and have no stake in the band as a listener or insider. I'm only vaguely aware of Lucas Mann. What I can tell you is that everything the live sound guy was saying is 100% honest, and nothing about the way their live show is run is suspect in any way. That's actually a very simple and barebones set up if you're talking about efficiency, and I've ran bands like that countless times. It's probably about 6/10 times, at my venue size, the bands are using tracks. For the really tight and highly refined performances, it's almost 10/10 times. But I cannot stress enough the part about the monitors. You can be on stage with other monitors all around you, and barely hear their mix, or the FOH speakers. Then you take 3 steps off stage and you're standing infront of the FOH speakers and the entire band reappears. Singers on stage won't be able to hear the beat or their own voice if it's only coming through the house speakers, even though those speakers are louder than holy fuck. These speakers are extremely directional or they wouldn't work as a monitor. They'd just feed back all over the place. They weren't trying to cover their ass or make any kind of excuse. They're hiding nothing and that live set up is completely legit.

There isn't even anything wrong with using recorded tracks to add flavor to a live show, as long as you aren't pretending that they are done live. Rings of Saturn has never said that any of their live tracks were not live tracks, they have never even implied it. When Periphery plays live, they use a bass track because they have no bass player. Nobody bats an eye, so why do people have a problem when Rings of Saturn does it with their third guitar track? It's not like they're pressing play on a pre-recorded track and saying "hey, this is all me live right now."
