They have so many rocking blues shuffles that are known for being bangers. My favorite ZZ Top song is the slower "Rough Boy" because Billy plays the most melodic guitar ever on that song. Then the solos just make it damn near a perfect song. It's Dusty's bottom end that holds the song together.

FYI, the drummer, the beardless one of the trio, his last name is Beard. This band has been going at it forever, they started out in Country music, slid into the Rock-a-billy drivers seat(kept the Fancy old school Country suits style they still wear today), wowed the music world and built a huge multi-generational fan base, that are all heart-broken today with the passing of Dusty Hill. As the Rightous Brothers wrote in a song in tribute to Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, and Jim Morrison who all left us in quick order in 1969, "Heaven's got one hell of a band". Today with all the greats we've lost since and prior to 69, just imagine Open Mike Night Jam Sessions on Cloud 9.

Absolute Legends..! R.I.P. Dusty, you will be missed, and the Great Band in the Sky now has the slickest, solidest, thumpin-est, best-dressed bass player there ever was... I love how Dusty and Billy always dressed the same and had matching instruments; the number of matching pairs of bass/guitar they must have is crazy, and ALL of them unique, cool, fun & interesting designs, mostly custom-made for them... And their live shows were something else; these guys ALWAYS brought the heat and blew the roof off... Damn. Another great band from The Golden Era of Rock (Oct. 5, 1962 - Apr. 5, 1994) is no more... Sad times, my friends, sad times...

My first concert, late '73. Touring on the heels of the legendary album Tres Hombres (which included La Grange). I was 14 years old and unfortunately I missed part of the show when I passed out in the men's room. I woke up laying in my own puke with some biker dude standing over me yelling "ROOKIE!!!". Good times, man, from what I remember.

@@christinebarraza2207 i would've got slapped for that too. It was bad enough she told my mother. It was probably 4 years later i understood that the necklace was. So naive. I was always the last to get the double entendres

I saw them in 2011 at Bee Cave (outside of Austin Tx.). They were still rocking. They had actually just stared a new tour. According to the surviving members, it WILL continue.

The car is called Eliminator and is an icon of a hot rod. A 1933 chopped Ford. The surviving front man of ZZ Top, Billy Gibbons, had it built and it's probably one of if not THE most famous hot rods ever. I think he still owns the original and a clone he had built to take on tour with the band. RIP Dusty, thanks for all the wonderful music.

A lot of range. In their early years they were even more raw, and deep in the blues "Waiting for the Bus/Jesus just left Chicago." will give you that "OHH!" face I guarantee! "LaGrange" for a rocker tune, and their most popular early song. 52 years - a HUGE catalog to draw from.

I was completely surprised to hear that he passed. They always gave me the impression, or feeling that they were almost one entity, a “unit”; or super highly connected-almost like conjoined twins. Oddly though, that specific feeling wasn’t a real thought before Dusty passed-I always just felt “something “. Today I realized that this “feeling “ could be put into words. Legendary men. RIP

Dusty was the man. Saw them live some years back, “The Biggest little Band in the World”. They we’re a blast live, moved all over the stage in step. A little Texas Boggy ** Another factoid. There guitarist (Billy Gibbons)was one of the two favorite guitarist of Jimmy Hendrix , the other is Terry Kath of Chicago**
