This is by far the best tutorial I've seen! Thank you for taking the time to help with such an important lesson. Everyone just assumes they're going to get tears, and that's just the way it is. This shows that's not how it should be.Well done good sir.

+cliff manley thank you. Yes you may still get tears but should only be at a competition if at all. If you tear you cant train . training with tears on your hands is like running with blisters on,your feet training for a marathon.

This has upped my training/workouts a hell of a lot. Starting to consider entering some local competitions(If I can find any) in my area. Between your videos along with Valery Fedorenko's videos I'm learning I believe the right way. Thanks again.

Many thanks for the great instructions, Joe! Really detailed and thorough description of the KB grip & drop technique. You provide even more details than Valery Fedorenko, who really puts a lot of emphasis on this in his instruction videos. He says it only once, while you repeat over and over again and demonstrate in slow motion. Great stuff!

I have a few newer videos on the subject a lot of it has to do with lowering the bail as you deflect away from it but as you get High Reps even the smallest amount of rotation can develop heat in the hands and twist the skin to start a blister

In reference to your blurb; TRAIN HARDER LONGER TO GAIN STRENGTH AND LOSE FAT. You seem a genuine guy, and I'm not having a go in that respect. But that is not how you safely lose weight, and then keep it off. 3 to 20 minutes of high intensity training (HIT) there is no super high intensity training (SHIT). Kettlebells have been a revelation for me. 56 pounds lost and still counting. plus fantastic core strength and good health that I've never had before. But you need to rest for 48 hours between each workout, and no more than 40 minutes. And don't average more than 2 pounds a week in weight loss per month (no matter how big you are). I believe you are addicted to the endorphin rush after finishing your workout. You have also successfully built up your muscles over the years. Kudos to you. But 40 minute plus workout on KB is detrimental to weight loss and muscle growth. The appropriate diet and 3 training sessions of 20 minutes each is absolutely fine for people looking to lose weight and get in shape. Also, yes, you use a heavy KB because perpetual motion is an important part of the exercise and avoiding injury. But heavy is 10 kg to 16 kg. If 20 kg plus is ripping your hands apart; then jump down to 16 kg, if not 10 kg.

Hi Joe, Awesome video and demo. I recntly tore my left middle callus on high rep snatches with 1pood kbells from onnit.com. The handle is much thicker with a primer/porous finish, making it harder to grip in the cradle of the fingers. Would you have any additional tips for this type of kbells?
