There are a number of starting points for Rishworth Moor. We began from a small grassland location at a fork off Hutch Road close to Rishworth Church. (Not far off A58 Rochdale Road Back O'Th' Height)). A circular walk started further up the lane then branched off up a long causeway towards Flint Hill then Dog Hill. Most of our challenges on this walk, were dealing with churned up tracks from numerous motorcycles. from a lane.
Apart from two other walkers asked to see our map for their own route there was no one else in sight. The moorlands were isolated with our route taking us up to a trig point before returning back to where parked.

What a great walk Shanita & Michael! Do love Yorkshire, what a place of beauty and what a fabulous past time to go walking in paradise. ( even though it was a bit boggy in places) Every time i see your vlogs i know I'm missing a great deal and must start country walking ! The lovely Patrick Leach introduced me to your channel and i am enjoying it very much! Your a very lovely couple and your music Shanita is excellent! Thankyou both of you for sharing your walks, I'm out of breath watching lol😊

It is definitely getting boggier out there. That was a beautiful view of the dam Shanita. The one thing I have found with hiking is that fellow hikers will always stop for a chat. There is nothing like a nice Trig. Thank you for sharing Shanita and for Michael's knowledge.

A splendid route Shanita. I used to love reading the gravestones at the little Chapel at Parrock Nook and was saddened when it became a private residence. I also remember drinking in the Blue Ball, which Michael spoke about. I've been doing very little walking this autumn. I think the mostly dreary weather has dampened my enthusiasm. So sorry to read about your disappointment in weather, and lost enthusiasm for walking. I really enjoy your wild camping adventures and late night chats under canvas. Hi David. Rishworth Moor has been on my to do wish for a while. Nice to see somewhere new for me. Just relieved I had something from way back to suit the wildness of the moors. It does help as it usually takes me a long time to put a music track together.

The art of picking your way around the boggy marshland, it's a technique we are having to get better at now isn't it. Interesting as I have been looking on the maps around Sowerby this week trying to plot a walk, really like that area. Great piece of music Shanita with a nice blend of sounds, like the way the repeated end pattern fades to the film sound easily.

Hi Steve. I am not the best of walkers for muddy terrain. Most walkers just plough through. But as you say it is an art. We did another one today and it was treacherous underfoot. Sowerby Bridge not too far away. That piece of music 'Isolation' was another track from way back chosen for its reflective mood of moorlands. As always nice to see your comments. Thank you.

You're definitely selling the South Pennines to me Shanita! 😃Another gorgeous walk. I love those handwritten signs you came across that look like frizbees stuck on the gates and fences 😅 I like the views you had of the M62 around there, for a motorway it's very scenic. Good to see you in shot on Dog Hill summit. Enjoyed "Isolation" very much, another great score you've composed 👍

Hi Patrick. So nice to ready your encouraging comments and also rewarding too. It's another plus if you are encouraged with the South Pennines area. I leave all the ideas of walking routes to Michael. He seems to have a never ending list of places. 'Isolation' just happened to be another earlier music arrangement which suited the wildness of the moors. Helps out when not keeping up with music production as it can take me ages to put a piece of music together. (Probably too critical about it.) All the best for a great weekend Patrick.🙂👍

Very enjoyable watch...we have been up Dog hill a few times usually from the old Oxygrains bridge...a lovely remote spot, shame about the state of the paths in places.

I think we have all had those tracks completely ruined by motorbikes churning up the soil. Very annoying. Wondered if you and Karen had been up round that way. Hope you and Karen keeping well.

Certainly had a few walks being bogged down like that. More than I would like, but its all part of the countryside. Just a pity it's mostly caused by motor bike joy riders otherwise it was a good walk for us..

1:28 - Blue BALL. It's still hanging outside! Trail bikes are a bane around here. Trouble is, who do you report it to, West Yorkshire Police or Lancashire Police! By the time you've decided, they are off the moor and the damage is done! 14:44 - it's no better! I was struggling there for 5 mins last Sunday!! 😄 👍

Hi Allie and Maria. Glad its not just us noticing how bikes churn up trail footpaths. We have done a few walks which have completely destroyed a footpath, and like you say who do you complain to. There are some areas warning motor bikes off with penalties, but it doesn't deter them.
