Put your orange rind in with the butter, too. The butter makes it delicious. You want your chicken to reach 165 degrees in the thickest part of the meat.

Laughed out loud at your ugly vs pretty goldfish. 😂. I had eye surgery some over two weeks ago So I’m an ugly goldfish right now. It’s taking forever for the bruising to go away. I was in a farm store yesterday and some feller went by speaking then saw my cheeks and said he’d go on before I whipped his butt too. 🙄😂 Looking forward to folks not thinking I’ve been in a fight. My youngest grandson LOVES chicken. He said it sure sounds good. Until he heard you say a whole chicken. In his 8 year old mind he thought you meant I’d go out and bring one in feathers and all. 😂😂

Thank you for showing us how you prepare your roasted chicken. I have never roasted a chicken, but always wanted to try one. I don’t think my grandmothers, great grandmother, or mother ever roasted one! It was always fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, or chicken pot pie! Those are always good, but now people want something a little lighter (even though it does have good old butter)!! I am definitely going to try this.

Looks like it’s gonna be mighty delicious Ms Brenda. Nowadays, the price of chickens not really cheap and time you add everything into it and all that butter it’s definitely not cheap. Love to have that with some mashed potatoes and gravy some fresh string beans and some good old cornbread or even your homemade biscuits and a nice picture of iced tea. After all that I’ll be ready for a nap.😂😂😂

I put either a whole peeled onion or a whole clean potato in my roast chicken but mostly I make cornbread dressing in mine. I also love roast duck which I put a whole onion in it and roast it breast side down. Duck meat is all dark meat and love it. I sprinkle mine with poultry seasoning.
