I am 39 and have loved Robert McCammon since I was 16 and read A Boy’s Life and Gone South. I’m in the middle of The Listener and am always surprised by how compassionate he is in his writing towards ALL human beings. You still continue to reach into my heart and squeeze it until I cry, Robert. From one of your biggest fans, thank you so much.

A legendary writer. You know you have a best friend when she introduces you to Robert, and when she sends you her copy of his masterpiece, a Boy's Life.

I started this chilling, hopeful, downright lovely novel a week or so ago. Thanks to a very great friend, I've been meaning to dive into your work for nigh on a solid decade, and, thanks to this very promotion, I've finally owned up to my promise to both my friend and myself, although Swan Song was to be my freshman Mccammon foray. Needless to say, it didn't turn out this way, and here I am, ass-deep into The Listener. No regrets whatsoever. This freaking novel, guy...it's...goddamn. I'll say this--I've been spreading it far and wide for the last week, suggesting it to every reader I know. Such is the depth of my respect/enjoyment of/for this wondrous work of art. I won't detail anything here, but to be sure, once I've completed the whole shebang, I shall post a spoiler-free review here. Thank you for this, Mr. McCammon. Thank you. Lavender Jack...Swooping On Down.
