Thank you for writing this incredible book, Mr. McCammon. I finished it last night and cried bittersweet tears. I bought a paperback copy online on a used books site. I feel lucky to have experienced the joy and magic of this sublime read. I wish my mother was alive to read Boy's Life, as she would have adored it as I did. This will forever be on my shelf and I know I will revisit Cory, Rebel, The Lady, Vernon, The Candystick Kid, the beast from the Lost World, Old Moses, Princey, Franklin... gosh I could go on all day. Thank you for the magical journey.

Mr. McCammon, thank you for doing this. For all us who can't, for one reason or another, come to see you in person, this is one of the nicest things I've ever seen an author do. I read "Boy's Life" every year, and have since it was published. I always find something new to enrich my life in it. My childhood was quite the opposite of Cory, but like him, I am a survivor. Thank you for all the wonderful worlds you have brought to us, and brought us to. Be well, and be happy.

Fabulous book. Reminded me of Ray Bradbury, but you stand on your own! Loved the childhood innocence that really came through.

Ricky McCammon, as you call yourself: This book literally changed my life. I grew up in a small town in BC Canada and lost my twin sister at the age of 4. Because of the confusion of the words "pass on" with the word "Death", I had no idea where she went. I simply knew there was a secret my house (that became haunted after this) and betrayal in my sister's plan to "go visit Heaven and come back" (which is what "passing on" meant to a small child). Being a child of an amazing imagination and well in tune with the fairies, frogs and dandelions that surrounded our "House on the Hill", I was relieved when I met, at the age of 6, a boy named Cory Ray Mackenson (12), who helped me deal with the meaning of Death, Heaven, Betrayal and Secrecy, amongst other themes. Although he did not have all of the answers, he had the "spirit" of the answer to survival. So when I turned 13 and Cory showed up, I realized that he had been 12-years-old for the past 7 years that I had known him. I figured he must be the "Holy Spirit" or something like that because of the magic that he performed in my life. I wrote my childhood Memoirs with him in them and most recently a short story called THE PASSING that also featured parts of him. I so wish I could honour you by sending you this short story. I usually write poetry, but it is my first short story as such. I would die for a hard cover edition of this wonderful book. If you know where one is, please let me know? How? I don't know. I will subscribe and hope there is some link for this.

Robert McCammon is an extraordinary talent. Read Swan Song years ago. Discovered the Matthew Corbett novels by accident on Audible. Amazing work and the narrator is absolutely perfect. Talk about immersive.

Excellent book, I read this when I was around 12 or so. I was a big horror nut and a family member used to give me Stephen King, Robert McCammon, Ken Follet, etc. Just brain food for young me. This books been on my mind lately. I heard I Get Around the other day at a bar and I immediately thought of peanut butter milkshakes, summertime and Rocket. And maybe a river monster crossed my mind Haha cheers all

They need to turn it into a movie or mini series

And they'll ruin this no doubt. It can only work if the creators respect the source material while turning into screenplay.

@@Jaqen_Hghar True look how bad the stand turned out which was a huge disappointment

@@t3jf My first shock was the very first scene of that show, when I realized they started in the middle! It's like starting Lord of the Rings after the battle of Helm's Deep and showing the whole journey and important stuffs only in flashbacks. Probably dumbest decision that could be made regarding such an epic novel. Couldn't continue after the first episode. I finished Boy's Life yesterday night and now I'm speechless how good the book was, so I was watching related videos on youtube.

I pictured the kid in St. Vincent (Jaeden Leiberher) as Cory while reading Boy's Life. Would make an enjoyable film.

The fact that this man hasn’t had any of his novels adapted to film is a crime in and of itself.

I'm still trying to get the SubPress limited edition of Boy's Life at a decent price but still no luck yet. That's what happens when you're late to the party. You have to dig deeper in your pockets to get one off the secondary market.
