Archers in many cultures, English included, were proficient in other weapons as well, and Robin is no exception. Makes sense when you can't use the bow in close quarters combat. If you are familiar with the Fate franchise, the Archer class is not only a master of the long range weapon, but also a master of many weapons.

The second-to-biggest "LOL" moment of this battle (after Goddfrey's death, obviously) wasn't shown here. A couple seconds before King John's scene, between 5/10 french "serjeants" (middle-class soldiers/half-knights) are seen waiting for the huge cavalry charge led by Robin Hood...you can see their legs trembling. The same Goddfrey starts yelling at them for their lack of discipline. Seriously, there are like 100 heavy horsemen coming at them and their captain is still forcing them to stain "En Garde"? This reminded of Medieval 2 Total War, where shit like that happens all the time.

It's actually quite possible to survive an arrow to the neck like that. As long as it didn't gush blood out around the arrow shaft, that signifies it didn't hit the main arteries and was just a flesh wound. After swallowing and spitting a good amount of blood for a few weeks, you would recover allbeit you would never speak right afterwards, but it is survivable.

I think this is an underrated movie. I really enjoyed this. Anyone notice how many game of thrones actors are in here? Robert Baratheon, Craster from Crasters keep, the 3 eyed raven, I think someone else…. Little John was that guy from Vikings that was bangin all the chicks in Kattegat, Malarky from band of brothers. I love it lol

Saving Private Pierre? I swear that there are camera shots in the beach scenes of this movie that look like they were directly copied from the opening of Saving Private Ryan.

I love the tale of Robin Hood and I've read that a remake of Robin Hood and his origin is in the works. I hope it's based on Angus Donalds books (amazing series, check it out if you like medieval novels).

Lucky arrow shot there. He was 13-5/8 inches off to the right, but the ocean breeze blew it back in.
