Im fairly certain the combination of organic and mechanical computation is what makes him so effective. Whilst digital computers can deal with heavy mathematics and calculations, the organic human parts can work more directly on innovation, creativity and graphical understanding.

I'm going to give it a shot tonight. I never watched this version of Robocop because the original one was very good and I didn't want to be disappointed. I even got lucky enough to meet Peter Weller (the original Robocop) in 1993. Nice guy.

I think the idea is that he reads things like body language and facial expressions. If he gets as good a video feed as he did in this scene, why would that be outside the realm of possibility? How would seeing these things in real life differ from what he sees on the video? Do you imagine he can smell pheromones or something?

The hate is from the fact it just isn't very good. It started off strong don't get me wrong but its character development kind of falters early into the movie. The plot is all over the place and its just wasted potential.

Gotta disagree with you there. As a lover of the original, the 1987 version didn't really go out of its way to flesh out its characters either, but it still worked. I thought the story here was pretty self-contained and coherent. I will agree that the ending seemed a bit rushed, but there were some fresh ideas in there.

Robocop recreation of the crime was pretty nifty. The brain analysis seemed gratuitous. I liked his use of a motorbike instead of a cruiser, not that I mind a cruiser either. Had a Tron feel to it.

The crime scene analysis was cool and pretty much exactly how I'd imagine Robocop would do it, but the problem is there is absolutely no emotion. I can believe the kid standing there like a statue in shock because he just saw his dad blown halfway to hell, but that chick would be screaming at the top of her lungs for help and Robo would show something. They said he was coming back, but he doesn't look like it.

It’s sort of similar to the original, where Robocop came back to his old house, to see it abandoned and for sale, to which he acted by smashing the monitor of the sales guy, and then goes to find the people responsible for the deaths of his original self.

+Randy White to be honest i actaully think the story line had a huge potential... they took idear but told the story from the upside down. in the original story. robocop was a an attmpt of the idustry to try to turn a human into a an obidient machine. in this version robocop is starting off as human but in order to live up to the standards he gradualy loses is humanity (untill he start to rebel against the system that is) in the original robocop was a tank:slow moving. but highly endurable in this story he is much faster and egile but also more vunrable its a shame the 2014 remake got fucked up becuse of stupid people rushed plot and a PG-13 rating

Nobody is being racist. The black suit just doesn't look as cool as the silver suit. It doesn't look metalic. It looks like Batman's hard rubber suit. Even if he acks like a robot, it just doesn't feel like he's a robot. Just like those movies where the actor is suppose to play a robot but you see no robot parts on him thoughout the movie. Those movies really sucks. Black is my favorite color by the way.

I enjoy this much more than any of the older ones. The first two relied so much on heavy amounts of blood, sex, and language...that most of the heart got buried six thousand feet under. The third movie was ridiculously over-the-top, but this actually balanced everything perfectly. To all those responsible for making this movie, I say "well done".

Sorry but i have to say, when the camera shows alex after being blown up, he seems to be in pretty good shape so i don't think the operation they did was justified, we didn't see his legs so i can't talk about those but his general torso was not ripped to shreds to facilitate completely removing all of it bar the lungs, the only thing i can see needing to be replaced is his right arm due to the fact it looks torn up due to glass fragments going straight through it, but still, that is the one thing i hate about robocop is that OCP is so damn eager to cut people up for experiments.

this movie must be really bad... that suit... that silly situation, but that suit is like if I was watching all the time a 3D model without textures, very annoying. And like other people said, that hand, that non credible movements that sounds in the background... ridiculous.
