The Q series is Roborocks affordable line of robot vacuums that often give you a lot of performance for the price. The Q8 Max+ improves on the older Q7 Max+ in a few different ways with the biggest being the dual rollers with a larger vacuum motor and added object avoidance.

Jamie, thanks for the video. Does the Q8Max dual roller assembly housing able to move up and down to get better contact with the surface? For reference The Q5 single roller housing does move up and down slightly to adapt and get a beter "seal" with the ground.. 0:51

Thanks for the review Jamie! Any plans for reviewing Q5 Pro + in near future? As per the comparison chart at Roborock website the only difference between Q5 Pro and Q8 Max is Object avoidance with slight difference in the dust bin volume and water tank volume. I am looking at Q5 Pro to use in a floor with mostly carpet so mopping is not a must. However I don’t see much reviews available for Q5 Pro. Considering same specs would you recommend Q5 Pro or Q8 Max? Object avoidance is not a problem and no pets.

Sounds like the Q5 Pro Plus would be a good fit for you. I don't currently have any plans to review it. I bet you would be happy with it.

Hi, in one of your videos you mentioned robot, that was very popular back in the days, like it was bought by many, many people because it was so good. I think it was roborock s5, s50, or s55. Do you remember which one was that? I just want to see what made this robot be so good

No they are not. The Q7 only has a single roller brush so the opening on the docks are different.

Well technically the Q8 Max is above the Q7 with feature like dual rollers and obstacle avoidance. The Plus means it has an auto empty station. Is it worth the dust bin that comes with the q revo or the Q8 max will do just fine. Im trying to see if the dust bin is worth the price or not

If you want a self washing and drying mop you will want the Qrevo.

What is the difference between the Q8 max plus and the s8 plus? Seems very minor the differences? Is the avoidance better on s8 plus?

The S8 Plus has a better obstacle avoidance system. It has a slightly smaller dust bin tho. Also S8 has VibraRise where it vibrates and lifts the pad up

But we welcome other recommendations aswell, the price of the Q8 Max+ is roughly 700 dollars in our country, we can't spend more than that at the moment. So we are really open to anything in this price range. :) Thanks again. :)

They have different features and I would have to understand your needs for your types of floors if you have, pets, need obstacle avoidance, want good mopping etc. to help guide you. @@jamie.andrews Thanks for the quick response. :) The ground is tiles everywhere. There is a dog, she mostly lives outside, but we bring in quite a lot of hair from her, and naturally, when she comes in, she also brings it in. Due to the tiles, the mopping function would also be good. We only have one carpet in the bathroom, and the kids room. Friends recommend the Roborock S7 Max Ultra, but I feel its price is a bit high, although I also see the sense that if you are going to spend, you should spend on something that is definitely a good and long-term solution. Would it really be a good buy? Thanks, I'll watch the other video as well. :)

Thanks@@jamie.andrews again :) The Q7 max plus is on sale right now, for 480 dollars. The Q8 max plus cheapest is 680 dollar. I think we gonna go for the q7 max plus now. And maybe in the future we gonna upgrade if its needed. The q7 max plus is a great choice aswell right? :)

Thx for the great review ! I'm torn between the s8 and the q8max+, would you have a recommandation ? They cost the same where i live 500e, or i could try to go for the Q revo for 650e... Tough choice. I have 4 cats and hard floor only, no carpets. Thanx for any inputs ;)

The S8 has better obstacle avoidance and a much better mopping system than the Q8 Max Plus. The Q Revo has a much better dock so it comes down to yourr wants and needs.

@@jamie.andrews Thanks a lot. Regarding the vacuum power between the Q8 and s8 they seem fairly equal, no difference on this part that would make it easier to choose ? considering the fact that the s8 doesn't have the dock station to auto empty.

@@skyryudo311 It is not that the Q8 is bad at mopping. It lacks features of the S8 like a vibrating mopping pad and Vibrarise. If these don't matter to you then go Q8.

What if i want vaccum only and mop only does it have that option or it is done together only? Don't really like doing them together as it will become more dirty

You can separate them out into 2 different cleanings. Vacuum first and then send it out to mop second. I normally do this myself.

If you are asking if this can mop up puddles of water the answer is no unless we are talkign about a really light spill. It only has a thin mop cloth.

Depends on you needs. Do you want dual rollers and object avoidance? If so you must buy the Q8 otherwise get the Q7.

I’m confused. Why is this called the Q8 Max Plus when they came out the S8 Ultra Plus. Are they the same models but call it different???

I don't have any issues with a combined dust bin and water tank. A cap seals a water tank very well, and it doesn't leak when I empty a dust bin. Thanks for all the tests and videos! Based on your reviews I think Q Revo is the best robot vacuum even if not to take the price into account. Probably would be my next robot vacuum.

Thanks for the feedback! The Q Revo is very impressive, but I have heard that pet owners have struggled with the unique to Roborock auto empty system they use on that one.

@@jamie.andrews I have 2 large dogs that go in and out through the pet door many times a day. They bring home a lot of sand and other messes on their paws and shed a lot of hair. I have no problem with the Revo, I love it, it's just perfect.

If there is a any kind of rock, even a tiny pebble, it'll get caught in the drag mop pad and drag it around the entire house and scratch your floors

Yes. I always recommend doing a vacuum first and then a mop second. While this won't always solve the problem it cuts down on the risk of it happening.

It really comes down to object avoidance and mopping abilities. If those are important get the Q8 Max Plus. The mopping system is better.

I hope they do something impressive and give us real object avoidance. They do not sell a robot with good object avoidance and other companies are now better that Roborock. Yea the X2 video review should be out next. Good to hear from you!

@@jamie.andrews They used to, but I just do not understand why Roborock discontinued the Roborock S7 MaxV!!! Roborock is most likely going to come out with a new Q Revo iteration (most likely Q Revo Pro) with RGB Obstacle Avoidance, integrated voice control (like Yiko), hot water cleaning, and a swinging mop like the Dreame L20. Or maybe they will have an S8 MaxV with those features but with a new, over-the-top object avoidance that guarantees avoidance of poop and all kinds of cables (like iRobot). Roborock better add those dock buttons while they're at it! I bet the Deebot X2 still has horrible navigation... I still see people complaining about that.

Q7 perfroms better on hard floor, but lacks object avoidance. The Q8 performs better on carpet and has object avoidance. Hope this helps you narrow down your choice some.

Because Dreame is a company from Xiaomi, and Roborock used to be part of Xiaomi too

I have not reviewed that one yet as I don't have it, but I have the S8 Pro Ultra which shares many of the same features as far as the robot is concerned. why they need so many version , this version use old technoly moping , my t9 aivi still can beat this one ez .this one is stupid version 😂😂😂😂 there is no new in this version . and have no camera AI . if u only need vaccum , irobot roomba still better than this .
