Hi 👋 Bryer. The Association i remember well because they did the lovely song Never my Love. Very soft pop music. Abba's debut album Waterloo contains one of my favorite songs of theirs titled Hasta Manana. Fleetwood Mac's instrumental Albatross is excellent. I recall it being released in the late 1960s, then it got amother release in 1973 and was a huge hit then. I like Sleepwalker by the Kinks. It came out in 1977 when British punk was raging. I like Lindisfarne. Yes they did have a folk rock sound. They had two hits that i like Meet me on the Corner from 1971 , and Run for Home from 1978. I think you will like them. I love Wire. I still play the album Pink Flag. Punk songs were short. I know what you are sayng. Its like you want more of the song. I loved punk , it was needed because music in the mid 1970s was getting boring. That's quite an eclectic mix you have there Bry. Lindisfarne were big in the UK in the early 70s, the album there, Fog on the Tyne was the biggest selling UK album in 1972, produced by Bob Johnson, Dylan's producer. After just three albums they split up, reforming in the late 70s. Alan Hull the main songwriter had a successful solo career, try Pipedream if you want to investigate further, he's probably one of the most underrated English songwriters, in a John Lennon vein, who was an obvious influence on Alan. Lindisfarne were renowned for their live performances, feel good, rolicking fun! I saw them numerous times, their Christmas shows, particularly in their hometown were legendary. They were always massive in their home town of Newcastle, which is depicted on the front cover you have there, taking from an old engraving. Incidentally the name of the band, Lindisfarne is derived from an Island off the beautiful Northumberland Coast, sometimes also called Holy Island, due to its history as the beginning of Christianity in Western Europe. Yet another great haul video. I think my favorite CD from this month although I could be biased is the offspring smash. some really great music to get motivated by. The next package I’ll be sending which probably will be in July will feature a lot of robert plant and ELP. Also, if you wanna see the Strawberry Alarm Clock in a movie check out the 1968 movie psych out starring Jack Nicholson with a ponytail.🤣 the movie also has another psychedelic band called the seeds which are worth checking out as well.

I'm glad I was able to give you at least a couple of good ones in the batch I sent. I actually enjoy Baby Animals' first album (self-titled) more than "Shaved & Dangerous" - it has more memorable songs and puts off a strong Joan Jett vibe - so I recommend looking for that one. A fun story about The Association that you might've heard me mention on my channel: my mother was neighbors and classmates with the late Terry Kirkman, a founding member. She got the booklet for a 2-CD anthology of theirs personally autographed by him for me!
