This is gonna be hard to watch from someone who supported Rocky from very early on. I was in Camden and it really wasn't long after he had all those fights late-career on ABC with Tony Lopez and saw him looking rough working at a KFC and was depressed for like a week after seeing that. It would only get worse. But to me, he was always a champion.

Ur not a bum. I hate when fighters r referred to as a can or a bum. These boys put it all on the line when they step inside the squared circle & the cage. It needs to be respected. No matter the ranks or lack thereof

This exactly. I hate hate hearing them referred to as bums, especially by themselves. Kills me. They gave so much. They gave us the best years of their lives. They gave us their health. They gave us beautiful fights and amazing memories. He deserves so much more.

Exactly right sir. Too much of that stupidity, especially coming from people who've never been in the ring. Would hope anyone who's ever had a go would know not to talk about boxers like that. Hard , hard way to earn a living, any fighter earns every penny they get

I'm just a hobbyist, but I've been fighting (boxing and MMA) for over 20yrs and the dedication required to operate at even my extremely basic level is wild. The guys who give their souls to this deserve so much better. It's like when I see some "fans" talking about this fighter or that fighter being a bum, or crap, or a joke.. it just eats me up. The *worst* professional fighter is still worthy is respect.

Everything you said is exactly what I was saying .it's made me made for years when people said dudes were bumbs that laid it all on the line .I've even fought dudes over disrespecting warriors I've grown to admire .felt the same as you did

Respect! That "bum" comment annoys me as well. Ppl really have no idea the work and time you have to put in. Most ppl never stepped in the ring or cage...Most have never sparred and they're the same ones who make fun of fighters who would destroy them quickly in a one on one confrontation.

You outdid yourself with this one, Rich. I saw the original, but this was an amazing tribute to a fallen warrior. Philippians 4:10-13, "But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last your care of me has flourished again; wherein you were also careful, but you lacked opportunity. Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. R.I.P. Rocky Lockridge

It was pretty hard to be homeless in the 80 s. The cost of living was so easy anyone could get a apt .For example my grandma who was on social security had a nice big apartment for 425 a month. People on social security could live good. Today even the middle class are homeless. The cost of living exceeds what people get on social security or make at a job.

Thanks again Rich for another amazing video. I honestly think that Lockridge was one of the few fighters that made the most of the talent he was given. He was an excellent fighter, just not a great one. He also didn’t start using drugs until his boxing career was over. An interesting side note. There is a video of a guy trying to start a fight with him on the street. This is way after his career was done and he was abusing drugs. You can hear the voices of people in the background yelling “Don’t do it” when he gets in Lockridge face. Rocky knocked him COLD with a one two.

I remember seeing Rocky Lockridge lose to Jackie Beard, a then sixteen-year old boxer from Jackson, TN, in the 1978 National AAU Bantamweigh finals tn Biloxi, MS. I remember thinking that Jackie Beard would be a future world champion. Jackie became a talented contender, but never a world champion. I do remember being impressed with Rocky Lockridge, nevertheless.

Rocky was a guy people really wanted to root for. When he knocked out Roger Mayweather it was a huge upset and everybody was shocked and so happy for rocky. One of the true nice guys in boxing who fought everybody. Rich I know you remember mike Zena he worked out at kings gym and maybe pittmans. Way too impressed with himself we were glad when rocky beat his ass.😂

Oh yeah, Baja, I was at Pittman's when Zena was there. He was in the same stable with "Killer". He was riding high after a ko win over Keith Stevenson on ESPN then things went south after losing to a Mexican journeyman.
