The vocals on this song are beyond amazing. I think Rog did the best vocals of his entire career on this song. You can feel the vocals are coming from the bottom of his heart. Full of emotions.

Roger is not the greatest singer around, but the way he expresses emotions is spot on. He's great at portraying anger, aggression, fear, anguish, and sadness. He's got good breath support, he can sing in tune, and his vocals help tell a story which makes him a good singer.

Yes. He has always sung with his heart on his sleeve- i think that is what i love about him the most. He bares it all unabashedly-expressed in very emotional tones. Like those lines in "The Final Cut"-"and if i showed u my dark side would u still hold me......tonight?...and if i opened my heart to you, showed u my weak side... what would u do?" NOBODY writes like that.

The thunder though...goosebumps. Something i have always loved about Floyd and Roger is the way they perfectly insert sounds we commonly hear. Eg. thunder, heartbeats, footsteps,helicopters etc. It gives the song a third dimension...your imagination or feeling...or both is engaged, making it a more real and personal experience.

@kaptainkaos12022 жыл бұрын
In 1978 I was 15 years old and ran away from an abusive home. I hitchhiked from Philly to Tampa, Fl. Why Tampa? I’d never been there nor did I know anyone there. Why? Cause it was warm at nite. I hitched during a massive snow storm on the East Coast and I was afraid of dying in my sleep from cold. Spent 1.5 years living in the streets and it was the best time of my life. Came home when I turned 17 and had my parents sign my enlistment papers to join the US Navy. Almost flew to France to join the French Foreign Legion. Thank G@d I joined the Navy. Time of my life baby! Cathy if you’re reading this I still love and miss you 45 years later.
