E D Thanks for all your videos on the fa06\fa08.ive had the 06 for over a year now and bought it to acompany my juno g...so possibilities when connected together are endless.Recently decided to buy a second fa06 to join the other two rolands...and they are fully housed with all the integra 7 sounds aswll as four seperate exp slots.all connected to garage band and cubasis and tc helicon voicelive 3 extreme.think ive found my nirvana.hahah.cheers again ed.

Ed, thanks for all the excellent videos you put out. I’ve purchased numerous Roland gear on the back of your demonstrations, and NAMM ain’t NAMM without your welcoming smile man! One thing, you talked about noise on the FA, and I’ve found that if you are connected via USB but monitoring via the analog outs you can get USB noise coming through the outputs. This is like a chattering sound. I had to use balanced audio cables and a shielded USB cable with ferrite cores at both ends, and the noise went away perfectly. Plus a request, shake those guys in Japan for an editor for the FA please!

Hey Ed..... one of my viewers was asking me what is the maximum resolution and bit depth when the FA workstation is used as an audio interface to the Windows 10 PC...... if I plug a microphone or guitar into the back and record the audio straight into my DAW what's the maximum sample rate and bit depth of the ADC converter in the FA..... do you know ?..... can you find out ?.... thanks buddy

Hey Ed, Love your work...always pertinent to the real world. Couple of things..i use Fantom X7 as my main kb and on top of that is my G6. First...is there anyway to get a txt page to come up for all of my seq songs on the Fantom "X" The Reason??? To use the txt files instead of using my tablet for chord charts...maybe in favorites??? I use sequences for every song in my band for bass/percussion/ samoles etc etc. You did something similar on the fantom G. Im sure im not the only one that would love this info. I really have no reason to swap my gear over to FA and besides...i would have a hell of a lot of work converting everything over from Fantom to FA and i use a Fantom XR as backup to my Fantom X7 as it reads the sequence files (SVQ) Incase anything ever happened to my X7. Also...im waiting for Rolands answer to the Kronos...maybe an Integra 7 as a fully blown Workstation with Sampler??? (I know...i Know...the FA has a "Sorta" Integra 7 engine) Come on Ed....its gotta be in the pipeline lol. I feel bad for saying it but...the new FA's feel a bit toyish compared to the Fantom X&G. And you dont see many pro's on tour using an FA compared to how many rigs of X's and G's there were (Madonna Tour etc)...mostly Kronos (although a lot of kronos's were given away to keyboardists...not quite as bad as Nord though) its a marketing thing and i get it "Whats on stage they say... gets sold the next day" and yea...you can use my line to your marketing guys at the Roland office lol....But yea....the txt file attached to a song/sequence thing...that would be awsome!!! PS: i dont use any laptop onstage or mainstage etc

Ed...could you do a video on how to load up a purchased GM song file on the FA and edit and save it? Eg: deleting all pg/cc changes and use factory/user/sampled sounds. I do this a lot on my Fantom X deleting out the tracks i play live etc and re-doing tracks that are wrong. Cheers. (from Australia)

Ed Love your videos. I have a question that I just can't seem to figure out and not sure you've had it in your videos. I have a four part 2 loop sequence and now I want to record the fifth track with no loop on that track but with the other four continuing to loop. If i turn off the loop button then the other four tracks stop. I want to use the continuous loop as a backing for the fifth track. What am I missing?

The Fantom G has never played nice with an external sequencer like Cubase. With local off the Fantom G does not work well using an external keyboard for splits in the Fantom. Does the FA have the same problem or did Roland fix this problem?

Ed, any app for ipad that we can use the FA-08 as a midi and Audio interface and a better sampler editng like akai mpcx?

Hi Ed, I'm a new owner of an FA-08 and really like it, I really appreciate all your videos and they have helped me quite a bit in getting up to speed. However, I'm having problems trying to program odd meter (5/8, 7/8 and 15/16) rhythm patterns and arpeggios. For some reason it always seem to add an extra beat at the end of the sequence which obviously thows off the beat onces it reaches the end of the pattern. Are there particular settings I should look for, to try to make this work? Thanks I really appreciate all your videos and they have helped me quite a bit in getting up to speed. Hello Ed, thanks for this amazing video. The FA is my main keyboard!!! I have one question, my question is how can I layer sounds without it sounding muddy? While I am playing the FA. I have serval sounds I created through studio set when I play 4 to 5 finger chords it sound muddy. Sound likes the sounds fade out while I am holding chords and using the foot pedal together. Please help me. I love it!! Please help Ed!!!

I had the FA06 and and sold it. The acoustic pianos sounded thin and tinny. Too much tinkering around to get it to sound good when it should sound excellent right out of the box

Please help on below issue I have discovered a bug in FA series and uploaded to KZfaq (below link) Roland Fa series has a big software bug and this will pain when you are on stage. In Facebook forums, it is discussed and not solved. Recently Roland has release Software V2.0 version, for seamlessly Switching Between Multiple Sounds While Performing (Sound Remain) but they forgot this and not tested well. V2.02 was released lately but this problem not solved again. During the Pad Mode is 8 (by keypads, you can select the parts in studio set mode), for example, when you play Part 1, and dim the volume of Part1 by using Expression Pedal, volume is dimmed, and as soon as you change the part while your fingers are still on the notes, suddenly the volume of the Part1 is turned back to its original value.
