It's certainly possible... The SPD-SX has two stereo trigger inputs that will accept any Roland acoustic triggers. I have another snare off to my left when I play live with an RT-10s that triggers handclaps, fat snare sounds etc and it works perfectly while the other pads play loops and other sounds. Hope this helps!

That's a good question and it would be a handy thing to have but I don't think it'll change tempos for you. If it was a loop you made yourself in the SPD-SX using on board sounds you could go in and re-do it, but there's nothing you can do to imported samples as far as I know. Thanks, Sam.

how do you erase some loops ,,, you don't need or copy twice?

Hey! I just got my hands on one of these today. Though mine doesn't act as it should according to your video concerning the "shot" and "alt". First of all, when mine's on "shot" it doesn't do at it does at 3:31. It just starts the sample from the top again, cutting off the other sound from the previous hit. Second, the "alt" function doesn't do so that when I hit the sample again it stops. It also just starts it from the top again. So the two things are the same for me. I don't know if I'm missing something here. Please help!! :C

Would I be able to use this machine along with Digital Performer? I basically want to load sounds from my computer to the pads, then record the parts by playing live into the sequence.

this is awesome. one question, Can this SPD-SX change the tempo of a sampling phrase during a live situation? for example, if I am playing a loop phrase but the band think it's too slow and want to speed it up, .. can the tempo tap change that phrase live immediately.?

Do you know if its possible to start the built in click at the same time as you start a backtrack on a pad? so that you are sure the click and the backtrack is dead on?

Kosmic, when i dragged the saved wav. loop from logic to my desktop, then assigned it to a pad, turning on the loop setting, the loop didn't sync on the one after the 2 bar phrase!! what have done wrong? do i need to redo the process or did i skip a step somewhere?

When live sampling can it sample automatically to a set length of bars and then automatically loop ? Or start and stop the sample recording using a pedal ? Or do you have to trim the sample every time ?

Hi Sam, I have a question about the SPD-SX: Has the SPD-SX any mode to launch its internal samples as Ableton does (one sample begins not when you hit the pad, but after the end of the actual pattern)??. My idea is to connect my Korg Electribe MX, with my Roland SPD-30 (in phrase loop mode, with record and quantize active) and the SPD-SX.... all of them running in sync via MIDI with the Korg's midi clock and tempo, in order to have a perfectly syncronized electronic set. Is it possible?. Tks.

Great video!!! My question is: Is any problems with overlaping sounds(cuts) because just 20 polyphony? I had some problems on spd-s , 8 polyphony, when I expanded thru the TMC-6 controler and I played as a full drum set.That is my biggest concern , I'm not sure should I buy dtx 12 multi (64 polyphony) ? just because that? Any experience, Advice? Thanks!!!
