Rollingstone Creek is situated about 40 minutes drive north of Townsville, it has a beautiful creek running along side the park and is a popular swimming hole for most travellers that stop at the camping grounds right next to it,
I first stopped at this place on the way up north but there didn't seem to be many fish so I left, on the way back down south I stopped to get some scenery shots and explored further down stream only to find there was plenty of fish life and a good variation from the shallows to the deeper parts of the creek, it is then when I stopped and thought with the brackish water fish there could be Crocodiles, still in the shallows it's a beautiful place to stop and rest, but be careful further down stream.
The fish species in the shallows mainly consisted of:
Eastern Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia splendida splendida), Empire Gudgeon (Hypseleotris compressa), Unspecked Hardyhead (Craterocephalus fulvus), Southern Purple Spotted Gudgeon (Mogurnda adspersa).
In the deeper water as well as above, a few other species:
Mangrove Jack (Lutjanus argentimaculatus), Threadfin Silverbiddy (Gerres filamentosus), Spangled perch (Leiopotherapon unicolor).
And only one noxious species:
Mozambique tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus).
Aquatic Plant species:
Blyxa aubertii, Water Snowflake (Nymphoides indica).

Thank you! and thanks for letting me know how good it is, I do them on my lap top so very rarely see them on the bigger screen my self unless one of my friends are watching it, I film it all in 5K but I think KZfaq reduces it to 4K for some reason, but the resolution should still be better.

@@australianbiotopes4563 I usual watch most of my KZfaq on my iPhone but watching your vid on the bigger Telly was great. I was up close seeing all the details of the little fish near the substrate, rainbows near the surface & the jacks just looked awesome close up.

Thank you! I try and spend a bit of time getting the proper lighting on the creek so it is somewhat planed but worth it.

These are some tankviews I´d like to have. All of it is difficult to replicate. I guess the only way to really do it is to build a tank and put it at those places and then put myself into the tank so I can watch the fish right there. If I travel half the world to reach Australia, will you help me with this project? 😂😂😂

All I can say is you will want a large strong tank to feel safe at some of these places as the crocodiles will think you are food 🤣

@@australianbiotopes4563 Ah, yes, the crocodiles. I need thicker glass. Then the coastland taipan, brownsnakes, some funnelwebs and the friendly big monitor lizard. And some bluebottles and bluerings when I run for the safety of the ocean. Do you have anything in Australia that doesn´t want to kill you? :D But honestly, I would like to visit some day. It is an amazing country. 😘

@@jokervienna6433 To be honest growing up here as kids we went everywhere bare foot in the bush and swimming and nothing really happened to us, it's like anything and everywhere, there are always dangers but if you live life normally and are aware of them, you are pretty safe, it's just unlucky for some that they come into contact and maybe go to far past the safety line and don't read the signs when they are there.

@@australianbiotopes4563 I know. We did the same in Sweden. Not that we have many dangerous animals, but nature can still be a deadly place. I realized this when me and my girlfriend (from Austria) went back to where I grew up. She does not know about the old mining holes, the swamps where you will drown, the places were you will get stuck and the plants that will give you a bad day. If one grows up there, fine. You´ll find out, the old folks will tell you. With me in Australia - I´d make sure to listen to the locals!
