I'm just about to go visit a friend overseas. She loves hiking and nature and suchlike. Though I've not been up to FNQ for 30+ years (camping) I still have fond memories of one or two scenic spots involving freshwater creeks, though I'm not a "nature-lover" and I loathe crocs. I am going to send her this link. I'm sure she'll love it.

Very thorough Jason. Have you considered doing a similar video for those that only have their iPhones to photograph with?
@australianbiotopes4563
@australianbiotopes4563 4 күн бұрын
You can try burst mode holding the camera up to the glass, iPhones are amazing at taking photos and film but with photos of fast moving fish I still think the burst of the flash guns with a high speed camera setting can't be beaten unfortunately, I will do a video on filming down the track with a phone and some of the ideas I've used with it as it's a great tool that you can then screen shot off the video, but if it's fast moving like a sparing Rainbow you still need a lot of luck for it to be crisp.

Thank you! if you have plants growing in it they will absorb it, you don't need to do water changes, just top it up as it evaporates, the fish waste helps feed the plants and in turn gives your fish cover, Honey Blue-eye are one fish that don't really like the aquarium situation so I always suggest to breed them up in a pond and fish a few out once you have a good colony to put in your tank.

They are still patchy but they are slowly spreading unfortunately, they don't readily take bait like most fish being that they are sand sifters, still they do occasionally get caught.

I think Australian Environmental Departments and Fisheries have to step up and start banning the sale of harmful non-endemic species to save our own wildlife, repair damaged habitat. The list of noxious fish and plant species is just growing bigger, from Gambusia to Tilapia and on and on. You can't sell Queensland as a pristine natural wilderness anymore; that is a joke.
