And if Pink Diamond's power, and its use in organic life, might be part of the answer. Perhaps Pink Diamond and Rose could see an alternative, but couldn't convince the other Diamonds to use it?

One of Cookie Cat's walkie talkies has a diamond for an eye as the character grins at you conspiratorially. The entire reason watermelons were the things Steven animated might have been because they have pink insides. Greg smashes his foot into the middle of a Watermelon Steven's stomach.. and ends up splashed with pink, with a pink diamond on his leg. The #1 gem is HUGE. Far, FAR more powerful than any of the other five on the gem door below it. It's hard to think of any gem other than a diamond that would have such an overwhelming difference in power level to the main Crystal Gems we know.

I spent two months researching Steven Universe. I watch it through once, formed my theory about Pink Diamond, then watched it a second time in a video editor, so I could pause, take screenshots and clips, etc. I was pleased to find several Pink Diamond/Cookie Cat easter eggs jumped out of the screen at me when I was looking for them :)

Well, I'm actually fascinated by Rocknaldo. Almost everything Ronaldo says has some twisted tint of truth to it. Even the "Steven's Pregnant!" thing feeds into my theory of Pink Diamond being in Steven's gem. And Ronaldo just talks about the Beach City water supply being contaminated, and having millions of tiny gem shards floating in his blood, crystallizing into a real gem in his heart. I've suspected for some time that the Beach City residents had some connection to the Gems, and weren't entirely human. Only they have the food-based mutations you don't see in people from Empire City. I think Onion might actually be a lot like Steven, except his mother Vidalia (who I totally believe is a gem in hiding) kept her gem instead of passing it to him. And now Ronaldo just dropped causually dropped another method by which this could happen. And carries a sword that's exactly the same green shade as the leaked "Bloodstone" image. There's more to that episode than we know.

Then the title worked as I intended ^_^

BlackfootFerret And then there's the part where Rose (with Pink in her) refusing Bismuth's Breaking Point that would've ended the war, and she didn't want to shatter the Diamonds, because they are possibly apart of her with Pink being absorbed in her gem. So what would happen to one Diamond if it were to shatter? Would it link to the others and they share the same fate?

I do think Rose wanted to find a diplomatic way to both save the Earth, and as many gems as possible. The Breaking Point would have been a powerful weapon.. but also an unforgivable one that would make the other side fight all the harder. Well, we know Pink got shattered, and the other three diamonds, while saddened, didn't self-destruct. I don't think there's anything too magical about the Breaking Point, it's mostly a spring-loaded one-shot jackhammer.

BlackfootFerret Oh yeah, I forgot, if she shattered her, she possibly swallowed all the pieces except for one that is in the chest in Lion's mane, that could possibly complete her body.

Another thing to say is I think the Crystal Gems and the Diamonds are the same. They both lost someone that was important in their life, and Steven is a huge part of Pink and Rose, what would happen if the Diamonds think he's Pink, like Jasper and Bismuth kept calling him Rose because they thought it was a disguise. This would possibly happen when Blue and Yellow see him or what he would say that would make them recognize what Pink would say just like Bismuth immediately remembering Rose said the exact same thing about the Breaking Point.

I did kinda cheer at that part, even if it might have been inverted :P

James Lol My own reading on Steven's uncontrolled crying during the Bomb was that Pink is still inside him, and she's crying at all the misery her Diamond sisters are going through. But Steven does have a powerful connection to the Diamonds

Is that episode supposed to symbolize Pink and Blue Diamond's sibling love?

Can't believe Love Like You was sung by Pink to Rose, also I think Rebecca Sugar will voice as her. The lyrics match up at how Pink feels.

James Lol Well, I got the report from another theory video here on KZfaq, that Rebecca singing "Love Like You" appeared on her father's channel marked as Pink Diamond singing, before it was quickly removed The moment I heard that report, the song "Love Like You" suddenly made complete sense to me. Pink, who has self doubts because of dark things she's done, is admiring someone as if they were her daughter. She talks about doing anything to help them... the song pauses.... then resumes talking about 'shaken by how long it took". It does sound like Pink did something to help Rose, then went away for a long time... before finally returning. I can't 100% verify the report, so I called it a rumor, but it seems pretty strong to me.

BlackfootFerret and then there were theories that Rose was the one who sang that song for Greg, or for Steven. Yet when I hear the voice again, I realized it wasn't her singing, but Pink Diamond, I believe Rebecca will voice as her, because if you think about it, Pink would kinda act like Amethyst if she is the smallest diamond and has a happy-go-lucky- attitude and having a funny personality than her other siblings, Rebecca would be perfect to play as an important character of this whole show, and does have a great voice and most certainly has a funny personality.

I developed the Dark Rose theory first, then realized it had problems and didn’t fit the tone of the show, so I looked deeper and realized Rose’s powers must have been a gift rather than being stolen. I refine the theory again in the Followup to this video. The recent reveal confirms some of my theories, while casting doubt on others. I’m formulating a response atm

Steven Universe does use cartoon logic to convey a lot of information to the watcher. Normally thinking that random TV shows the characters watch would somehow foreshadow and provide exposition on the main story would be bizarre.. but SU uses this trick all the time. Well, it was either "Pink Diamond Granted Rose Quartz Her Powers, Shattering Herself In The Process", or something more compact, flashier, and easier to put on a thumbnail, like "Rose Quartz Ate Pink Diamond!". I took a risk with this video to show how a single detail, realizing Rose wasn't a vampire, flips the entire story 180degress, and turns a Horror movie into a tale of love and sacrifice. I think the Cookie Cat song in particular is brilliant. The first time everyone saw it, they just thought it was a cute kid spaced out of his mind on sugar. But now I look at the pilot episode, and that song, as a brilliantly hidden roadmap to the rest of the series. And nobody knew for years ^_^ I'm going to be making a quick followup video to this soon. So far everything I've seen supports my theory that Pink Diamond's power is in Steven's gem, but there is one piece of the theory I need to update: I no longer think Pink Diamond was a vampire. In fact.. she's probably a tragic victim. Unless Diamonds somehow have the human capacity to grow over time, Pink was clearly off-color by how small Stevonnie was relative to Yellow Diamond in Jungle Moon. Yet from there to the flashback silhouette in Gemcation, Pink grew to the size of a regular Diamond. Somehow Pink got a massive power boost during that time. Pink's gem still does contain powers from many other gems. But I don't think Pink stole them herself.. I think the other Diamonds force-fused shattered gem shards on Pink's own gem in an attempt to "FIX" her, and turn her into a regular Diamond. Nightmare fuel.

Well, this is a view of Pink Diamond at a very early age. The first revealed part of her story. Other than being off-color, and a disappointment to the other Diamonds, one thing we can tell for sure is that Pink, cared for by Yellow, got to watch helplessly as the organic life planet below was systematically consumed and destroyed in the name of furthering the Gem Empire. Pink had this memory in the back of her mind when she came to Earth. It must have made quite an impression.

Plot twist, they were all Chaos Emeralds from the start.

Well, considering that the yellow gemtech veins in Peridot's ship suggest Yellow Diamond had a hand in its construction, the reddish pink veins inside the Crystal Gem Temple would suggest that Pink Diamond had a hand in its construction as well.

Yes, Pink Diamond probably made those veins/the "Crystal Heart" (as some people call it), but we can't really say for sure that means that the big circle above the door was made as Pink Diamond's access point. We already know that Rose served under Pink Diamond's court before becoming a rebel. Who's to say that Rose didn't already have access to/control of the Crystal Heart before rebelling? Or/and maybe the Crystal Heart was one of Pink's main bases of operation before the rebellion and it was taken over by the rebels and restructured/rebuilt into the temple? There are so many other ways that these veins could be explained that would still make sense, given the information that we have now. Also, if Pink Diamond had an access point to the temple door, wouldn't it make more sense for that point to be in the shape of her gemstone, *like the other gem's entry points?* TLDR: There are too many plausible explanations that can't be ruled out to definitively say one way or the other imo. Still a really cool theory though! :D

Lulzigi I took another look at the gem door today. All of the Gems are circles with lines that connect each of their points to the outside. If you look up at The One Gem, it has exactly one line attaching it to the outside, just like the others. It's definite a Crystal Gem, but one so HUGE that it dwarfs all the others

Well, a great detailed mystery is going to have a very detailed answer. I went with this because it matched the details I could find, and FELT right. I started out with the Vampire theory, then found myself scratching my head, thinking 'this is not what the show would actually do'. But when I tried the twist with Pink granting her power to Rose, everything became awesome, and emotional. When in doubt, I lean in the direction of what makes the best story.

It took me two months of studying the show, but after I had my Pink Diamond hypothesis after the first run, all sorts of Easter Eggs started jumping out of the screen at me on the second run. So I had hope I'd found something interesting :)

I think the show makes Jasper, Amethyst, and Rose all Quartzes to force a comparison between them. The recent Bomb shows an entire room of both regular Amethysts and Jaspers looking almost exactly the same other than coloration, there's even a little Jasper that looks like our little Amethyst. Peridot calls Jasper "The Ultimate Quartz", not "The Ultimate Jasper Quartz". The implication is that different types of Quartz are still very similiar. We don't have a frame of reference to compare Rose Quartz to any other Rose Quartz's as of yet, although I have a suspicion that rebel girl with the pink hair that Pearl bumped into might just give us the chance to see what a normal Rose Quartz is like.

Just to make sure you know if someone hasn't informed you already but the little Jasper is actually a Carnelian gem

Well, the Diamonds are sort of the mothers of the gems. Blue considered the Rose Quartz gems in the Zoo to be "all we have left of her". Perhaps the greatest power the Diamonds have is giving life to others?

How could Rose be Pink Diamond though? Both Rose and Pink Diamond have belly gems. Gem's bodies might shift, but their gems never do, and the gems always stay in the same place. We're not yet sure what happens when two gems with gems in the same place try to fuse.. but I'm betting this is impossible, and might result in BOTH gems shattering. We have eye-witness accounts that say Rose shattered Pink Diamond. This means both Rose and Pink were at the same place, at the same time. They are separate people.
