I agree, and as a seriously avid Karate Kid fan, and have been since the original in 1984 (I was 13 then), my biggest confusion with this whole Cobra Kai thing is..... If at the beginning of Karate Kid II in 1986, the opening parking lot scene after the tournament, Kreese sulks around and is basically a serious prick to everyone, bc Johnny lost and Cobra Kai was defeated. Then he walks over to his students, confronts Johnny about losing, kicks him off the team, breaks his 2nd place trophy, calls him a loser, then proceeds to choke him while the other students try to fend off Kreese, who proceeds to slap all his students away, and continues to choke Johnny until Mr. Miyagi comes and intervenes, as he should've. Now, my confusion with the new Cobra Kai is (and all be it it's a cool nostalgic nod to my karate kid generation) why in the hell would Johnny want to re-open/re-start a karate school under the same Cobra Kai banner, where he had realized after Karate Kid tournament and in the parking lot in KK2, the error he had been taught everything wrong and evil of the bad side of karate? Yes, maybe his initial intentions were innocent, since he saw what's his name being bullied outside of the store in the first season of Cobra Kai, and decided to train him and be his sensei; however, even in the tournament in Cobra Kai, he was still teaching his kids the disrespectful and dirty ways of Cobra Kai, bc the last match his student had with his own son (whom is a Miyagi Do student) he told him to have no mercy and keep on him. After which, you could tell Johnny felt bad and remorseful for what happend. Now, I did see clips in this trailer where Johnny and Kreese butt heads, and a growing conflict within Cobra Kai ensues, but again, I never have understood why Johnny would want to return to a way of karate that was ultimately defeated in Karate Kid? Maybe I'm looking way too much into this, but to me, especially being such an avid Karate Kid fan for decades, the plot and story HAS to make sense, and this angle of Cobra Kai doesn't to me. Anyway....just my rant lol

@@brents.8972 I think they're going to explain why Johnny would even give Kreese the time of day. Honestly, until he lost, Kreese was probably the most influential father figure Johnny had, and felt he owed alot to Kreese. Now, why Johnny would want to use the Cobra Kai name and alot of the same methods...we see Johnny still believes in it but is not as bloodthirsty as Kreese was. I think the opening episodes of Season 2 are going to be great to see how Kreese gets Johnny not to just write him off forever.

Paul Frost I was a wide eyed 12 year old watching this in the theater. I believe I saw it 4 times while it was in our small town theater. I always cheered for Johnny. Daniel is too whiny and annoying in my opinion. I resist watching cobra Kai until just this weekend afraid of what they were going to do to the original. I really thought they did a amazing job with it. Like you said they blended the new and the old. The flashbacks were really well-done too. I can’t wait for season two.

Him and Daniel need to get it all out of their system and then just talk it out and realise Kreese is the real enemy, the real poison, they need to unite and finish the real issue once and for all.

@@j.rbrooks300 After that brutal school brawl? It's a given. There's likely to be a few courtroom episodes down the line. One will concern Robby. Another will concern Hawk and Tory. And the most important one will concern ownership of the Cobra Kai name and / or its current furnishings. More than that, a new fighting style is likely to emerge out of all this. Combine the powerful offense of Cobra Kai with the astonishing defense of Miyagi-do (or the glass cannon with the stone wall) and its practitioners will become nigh unstoppable. Which brings us into the ultimate showdown of the series: Johnny and Kreese, for absolutely everything. A fight that no one wants but they all know is the one and only way to settle the matter once and for all. Johnny is definitely going to earn his happy ending.

It be a more climatic and emotionally sound resolution if Johnny actually defeats Daniel, is about to "finish him" and then realizes he'd be following Kreese's path/his former errors or demons if he does, extends his hand to him and they unite to take down Kreese instead of blaming/fighting each other...but too bad I'm not a writer,of I had my way that's where I'd take it though

I heard he actually WILL be appearing in this series though it's not confirmed when or if it'll be at all in this season

Demetrius is attacked by his old friend Eli (Hawk) after Demetrius had been a good friend. Hawk has totally gone to the Dark Side. I am glad that Demetrius will be joining Miyagi Do is Season 2. I hope that Demetrius becomes more than than just the Jokester/Clown like he was in Season 1. I hope he becomes a really Kick Ass Warrrior beating up the Evil Cobra Kais while giving them Comic Quips.

I don't think Johnny will reconcile with Kreese. Kreese lost his respect a long time ago. Kreese mistreated Johnny even when he was his most loyal student.

@@sammydavidjr Anything is possible. The creators said that they would begin to explore Kreese's other sides and his backstory, instead of just making him a one dimensional villain. And Kreese looks like he's going to be with Johnny for a while, they got plenty of time to work things out.

I doubt she'd be on the side of a guy that kicked her in the gut, broke the pots she labored to make and even threatend to drop her off a cliff!
