Its crazy that the black stuff is coming off. I like that the R on the bolster is gone. Imo the R makes it looks really cheap. I like that its carbon steel.

I brushed all the loose black stuff off with a toothbrush and soapy water. Don't want whatever that stuff is getting in my food

Wow! For the price, that looks like an awesome knife. I will def get that one, if it shows up here in Europe.

As far as the black coloring rubbing off with Cinnamon Bone Stag I have solved that by using masking tape to cover up all metal parts plus the shield on all mine then giving the scales a couple light applications of Testor’s clear coat. Testor’s makes two varieties, one called Dullcote and the other is Glosscote. A single coating of either dries super fast, say in about 20-30 minutes and then you can spray over it again. I’ll do two passes per scale with Dullcote then follow up with a very light pass with Glosscote to restore the original shine and voila the knife is good to go! Looks brand new. As long as you use light coats it won’t dry feeling tacky at all, feels smooth just like the natural handle material and the black stuff will no longer rub off on anything! With used knives where some of the black may have already rubbed off just touch it up first with a marker, paint pen or an art pencil before clear coating. After that you can EDC or food prep with it no worries!

Love the long pull on that clippoint. Too bad they won't fix the issue with the black paint, if it's even paint at all. Should be an easy fix, you'd think. Anyway, cool knife. Does the tang of the closed blade poke your hand in a regular grip? That's my issue with trappers.

I haven't noticed it poking me, but I'm not 100% sure

Just a thought if ya may be so inclined - bone seems to take Sharpie very well in my experiments. Black Sharpie could add some character if ya wanna give it a try. I have used red Sharpie to fill in on a couple red bone knives and had very good results. Blended right in and ya can’t tell. Thank you for the show and tell

Tobias said he heard RR are getting rid of matchstick pulls. Definitely the way to go. So many RR would be great with regular pulls and no R bolster.
