I have to admit I have become a kinda-sorta trigger snob. It's not that I can't shoot heavy, crunchy, or spongy trigger well it's just that over the years I have come to appreciate a nice crisp trigger. We love the CCI quiets here at the Buffalo Range. It was my son in the video. Thanks for the mention. Great update video, the 10-22 has to be the most customizable 22 rimfire rifle on the market. Check out Montana Slings, they make some nice yet simple leather slings.

Yeah I get the trigger thing, and I can certainly appreciate a nice trigger, just that I don’t immediately replace the trigger on guns I buy. Whatever the trigger is like on this rifle I haven’t noticed, which means it’s satisfactory in my book. Yes, I think the 10/22 is even more customizable than an AR isn’t it? Glad you guys like them cause you won’t see these much around here, I have a pellet gun I can use if I want something this anemic! Lol! Will definitely check out the slings, thanks for watching Buffalo! :)

Nice rifle as so many options and builds you can do with that platform that it is crazy....Good stuff...

Thanks, yeah the 10/22 is probably more customizable than an AR15! CRAZY! Thanks for watching brother!

“Need it for squirrels and such”. The ruger 10/22 is hard to beat. You could take a leather belt and some sling swivels and make you a “custom” sling.

It’s a classic rifle for sure! That sounds really interesting, might have to try that sometime, but right now I just don’t have the time. Sooo busy! Thanks for watching brother, appreciate it!

Nice looking 10-22. It is one of my favorites. CCI minimags seem to run the best out of it. Lighter power rounds tend to jam. On the reverse in my Ruger American Rifle 22 the minimag shell casings swell and don't eject.
@TheMagnumChannel
@TheMagnumChannel 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yeah, I knew these wouldn’t run, but wanted to test the recoil buffer quietness. Interesting that your Ruger American won’t eject the hot ones, must have a tight chamber?

I don't know, but that is the only ammo I've found it won't run well.

I just replace my bolt hold open with a volquartsen. Wanted to do the buffer and spring but maybe later. I have the take down version with the threaded barrel. Shoot great and put a rail on top with a Burris red dot on top
@TheMagnumChannel
@TheMagnumChannel 5 жыл бұрын
Nice, yeah I thought about the bolt hold open, but it won’t actually lock it back on the last shot, it just allows you to release the bolt slingshot style, so I don’t know if I wanna bother with it, I would definitely recommend the recoil buffer, it’s cheap, easy to place while cleaning, and definitely makes the gun quieter! I seriously considered the take down version, it’s a cool package! Thanks for checking me out! :) 👍🏻

Target grade triggers are not much of an issue UNLESS, YOU SHOOT BULL'S EYE MATCHES, then Big Difference.
@TheMagnumChannel
@TheMagnumChannel 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I could go along with that, especially in a handgun. In a 22 like this I don’t notice much difference, but triggers are more important for competition shooting. Thanks for watching brother!

That sure was a quiet shooting. Seems to be well suited for basement shooting, or if you have really bothersome neighbors. I'm old school (in case you haven't noticed), so: leather, off course. Nice, polished leather, perhaps with those, uhmn like, impressions in the leather. Not sure what it's called in english. Nothing posh or fancy, just to neat things up a bit.

Those almost have enough power to cycle the gun. You could lighten up that recoil spring and she'd run those. Right before dove season me and my wife went to get shotgun shells. I bought a flat 10 boxes. The line was long in the store and I ended up having to hold them for 10-15 minutes. It made me think of your video 2 guns for the Zombies. Where I said you need a wheelbarrow to carry shotgun shells.😂👍
@TheMagnumChannel
@TheMagnumChannel 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, if I cared I might, but to be honest I hate these rounds, just wanted to hear the gun not going ka-chunk on that steel recoil buffer it came with. If I wanted ammo this weak I could just use a pellet gun, mostly I shoot average and hotter than average 22lr. Lol, funny story about the shells, they are blasted heavy, but at least it would be a tactical wheelbarrow! 👍🏻🤣

My 10-22 will not cycle the low velocity stuff either. I put a Bull Barrel and Full Volquartzen kit on it also.

That's the best thing you did to improve your 10/22 for the money bro. Next all you need to do is get more magazines for it. Well done video Sir and keep up the great content.

Thanks! Like I said I’m not one to do a million things to my guns but a few small changes are ok, in this case a performance upgrade. I have some extra mags, but I hate those big ol banana magazines hanging out of the gun...maybe I’ll get some more 10 rounders for it. Thanks for watching brother!

Do a braided paracord sling. Check out how to do it on KZfaq. Can do it yourself and could match the grey stock

Sometimes my 10/22 does a lot of stovepipes in one outing and sometimes none. Have no idea why.
@TheMagnumChannel

Could be the ammo and or the magazine. The magazine on the 10/22 is the feed ramp as well. I put a little piece of tape on the back of mine to make them snap into the mag well tighter, which helps a lot

Trigger snobs make me laugh. Nice 10/22, unfortunately high velocity ammo is the only thing that will cycle a 10/22
@TheMagnumChannel

I know, most times the trigger is fine! This rifle cycles normal 22 ammo fine, just wanted to test the quiets for the sake of the recoil buffer

The 10/22 is a sweetie for sure! Will do, I hardly ever shoot such weak stuff, so I actually did test them before the video to make sure they would safely penetrate a bowling pin. Thanks! 👍🏻

Those railroad ties stop bullets pretty good? .. I'm trying to build up my range and have been thinking of using them..
@TheMagnumChannel
@TheMagnumChannel 6 жыл бұрын
They definitely do! Did some testing before I built mine, these were grade two from a local rail yard where they had been replaced by newer ties, but a single tie stooped a 30-06 soft point cold! My berm is about 4 ties deep for insurance and wear, but they work VERY well at stopping bullets, but if you use them, prepare for a really good workout cause these were about 9 feet long and weigh about 250 a piece!

@TheMagnumChannel
@TheMagnumChannel 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, yeah I absolutely love the looks of this gun and the laminate stock. Not sure, they’re advertised at around 750, maybe I’ll do that sometime, but I really don’t care about them because if I wanted something that underpowered I’d just grab a pellet gun. This was just for the sake of testing the quietness of the recoil buffer. Thanks for watching brother!

Freak out about triggers? Well every aspect of a shooter should be improved irrespective as to equipment, but triggers are 100% important. Ruger's own BX trigger for the 10/22 should be STOCK fare in the gun, not an upgrade. It's impossible to get a precision shot when the trigger is gritty, inconsistent, heavy, and creepy. Just the facts. A crisp, consistent trigger is better and brings better results. Freaking out? That's pretty broadly put.
@TheMagnumChannel
@TheMagnumChannel 5 жыл бұрын
It is broadly put...triggers are important as you say, but a lot of people think most any stock trigger is junk when they really need to blame themselves. I have taken several rabbits with this rifle already as well as hit much smaller targets at longer distances. The stock trigger on this rifle is just fine IMHO, and I find that to be true of many firearms that people gripe about...most times people need to learn how to shoot better before going for a fancy trigger, with a few exceptions where the trigger is truly bad. My two cents on it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@exothermal.sprocket
@exothermal.sprocket 5 жыл бұрын
That's true, assuming the majority of shooters are hoping their dollars will buy them talent and skills. Better spent on professional instruction, quickly identifying and eliminating problems before investing in better hardware. It's nice to grow into a precision piece, but having the precision piece doesn't equate to better talent. Perhaps that's a detailed way of putting what you meant in the video.
@TheMagnumChannel
@TheMagnumChannel 5 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Hand a good shooter a stock gun and they will do things with it most folks can’t with their fancy expensive equipment. You said it well, you can’t buy skills, that’s exactly my point. when you’re talking in front of the camera you don’t always have time to think out exactly what you mean...thanks for being a rational viewer in a sea of fools here on YT! 👍🏻
