11:41 Rukia's bankai is stated as the most beautiful while Toshiro the strongest ice type bankai. What was tought to be Toshiro's bankai was his immature form since Toshiro himself didn't reach maturity. Rukia's bankai freezes anything it touches to absolute zero (an amplified Some no mai (her shikai's ability) while Toshiro ice bankai is similar to Yamamoto's shikai in surrounding area of impact they're kinda opposite yet similar that is why when fighting Aizen, Toshiro's immature bankai was melting and couldn't use it. Toshiro's bankai affects weather or the water in the air while Rukia has to first lower her own body temperature to sub zero in order for whatever she touches to become absolute zero. Toshiro mature bankai can freeze objects and surroundings without or with touch (convection and conduction without preparation like lowering his temperature) while Rukia is by touch only after lowering her temperature ( only instant freezes at a specific core temprature ( 0 Kelvin or absolute zero) via conduction)). So in terms of power and efficiency Toshiro's mature bankai is a cheat and was only limited because of Toshiro's lack of training while Rukia's Bankai is like an ultimate resort in the battlefield that is why if Byakuya did not intervene she would have lost the fight (by failing to return to her core temperature slowly without breaking herself which she wouldn't have been able to do without the help of Byakuya lol). Definitely the prettiest bankai tho.

Not really. His acknowledgement happened first when he helped Rukia with the Hueco Mundo excursion, and when Rukia became a VC. We knew, explicitly, the reason that didn't happen before was cause of Byakuya's fear, grief, and guilt and he coped by being overbearing towards her. Some things are not meant to be said out loud in stories. Not only is Rukia's one and only *decisive* solo win against a non-jobber (as in, she's not effectively left to die after the fact like vs Aaroniero and has to be resuscitated and saved), has her being rescued again, but the conversation before Bankai is redundant, and made actively worse by the post-bankai exchange that feels more like a peer-to-peer and brotherly advice and praise, that already implies he acknowledges her independence. You know, like the other two events I mentioned before already did for people able to read. Again, not everything has to be spelled out.

Also cool to see more clearly that the ice extensions to her clothing are partially see-through. I was worried the pure white would look too much like an arrangers outfit rather than ice, but they did a really good job!

It's also nice to imagine how she can improve on it as she gets more experience. Imagine her being able to gradually extend the durations of her lower temperature Shikai or shorten the time it takes to cool down and warm back up, further refining her reishi control until she can finally move and fight even in her Bankai state.

Yes, Rukia is the most beautiful Ice Zanpacto. And Shiro has the strongest of the Ice Zanpacto . His can literally control the e weather, and have a bigger range of damage. And remember that his power has not Matured yet. So he still has more to come with his powers as he, and it matures. Rukia, She will get hers stronger also. But Tochiro Shiro, has the Strongest Ice Zanpacto, no matter what.

@@Artisjjj Yeah dude you're off your rocker and seemed to have completely missed the entire point of Rukia saying that Sode no controls temperature, not ice or snow. I'd argue Rukia, who flash froze As Nodt when using her bankai, is a lot more dangerous. Her potential for growth especially so compared to Toshiro at the moment.

The main difference between Rukia and Hitsugaya is that Rukia's power is related to temperature whereas Toshiro controls ice itself as the element. Rukia's sword allows her to lower her own body temperature and then the sword is a vehicle to extend that temperature outwards whereas Hyorinmaru controls the water in the atmosphere and turns it into ice. That's why we see Toshiro shooting ice projectiles while Rukia mostly cuts or creates stagnant pieces of ice.

@kollie79Rukia can’t heat up the temperature, she only can lower it. On the surface they seem like similar zanpakutos, but when you get to essence, it becomes apparent they control different things. Rukia lower temperature, Toshiro stops all movement. Rukia can only interact with material world, while Toshiro can freeze reishi. Which means, Toshiro is the opposite of Yamamoto, who accelerates and heats up reishi. Also, as a side note, Toshiro (adult) can just freeze Rukia in her bankai state and have a personal absolute zero statue.

I love when byakuya held her hand when she was in bankai. She was at absolute zero temperature (-273°) but he still held her together to make sure she doesn’t fall apart. At the cost of his own safety. A true big brother

Rukua's bankai looks very similar to the design of her Zampakto when it manifested in the Zampakto rebellion filler arc. It's a nice touch that they kept the characteristics similar. Ichigo also looked more like Zangetsu when he used tensa zangetsu.

This was such a beautiful moment for Rukia and Byakuya especially when you compare their dynamic in the Soul Society arc. Also she is not a captain or vice captain but 3rd seat and she beat an Espada and a Sternritter that’s unheard of show her some damn respect Belz 😂😂😂

true, but just like Renji and Ikkaku who meets the criteria to be a captain, Rukia was recommended to be a vice captain but Byakuya prevented that from happening to keep her "safe"

Seeing Rukia's full power was one of my favorite things when reading the manga, and the anime absolutely delivered. From Byakuya’s intervention, Jugram’s executions, Ichigo’s urgency and confidence in his return, RUKIA’S BANKAI. This was an amazing episode!

This episode of bleach is peak anime, the voice actors killed it, the animation was amazing, the story telling with as nodt and then rukia and byakuyas relationship and witnessing the character development between the two. The amazing reveal with rukia bankai and I just loved how creepy as nodt was, it was such a perfect opponent for her. Just such an amazing episode

As someone who read the manga as it was coming out over a decade ago, the anime has blown me away. I’m already ready to say Bleach TYBW is one of the best anime ever made. The animation, the art style, the music, the voice acting, everything. It just keeps getting better. It doesn’t pull any punches, waste any time or apologize to those who haven’t watched or read the series up to this point. Rukia’s Hakka no Togame is one of the most anticipated moments from the arc and it delivered. The most beautiful Bankai ever. 10/10

the last Squad Zero member we didnt get to really see much of didnt train Ichigo she provides the special clothes to everyone. thats why her room looks like it was made of different elegant fabrics. Byakuya guiding/mentoring Rukia through her Bankai was so touching. I love how everything came full circle for them 2. Byakuya came in to wipe away all of Rukias doubts and fear ontop of finally acknowledging her is so powerful man. What a masterpiece of an episode. from the INSANE voice acting from As Nodt to the music to the art. *chefs Kiss* Bleach is a hall of fame anime.

I've been waiting years for this to finally get animated and they did not disappoint. It was mentioned back in one of the earlier arcs that Rukia's shikai is known as one of the most beautiful zanpakutos in all of Soul Society and they transferred that well into her bankai.

11:52 It's not that Toshiro uses ice as well. He is the only one with an ice Zanpakuto that we know. Rukia has a temperature based Zanpakuto. She can lower and rise her body temperature as she wants.

They did Rukia vs As Nodt so much justice! He was scary and creepy, the voice actors popped off, and Rukia got to shine, and the Bankai is so beautiful! Also an important note about Rukia's sword is that it isn't necessarily ice powers, but the power of cold or technically the removal of heat, and that ice is a by-product of her powers, whereas Toshiro's powers are control over ice specifically and cold is the by-product. Her Shikai removes the heat from herself (Heat death) and anything she or her sword touches, and her bankai is a removal of heat in an AOE/in what looks like a blast to where she points her sword, like her old shikai powers. Together her and Toshiro are pretty much the polar opposite of Old Man Yama and his powers of fire and heat.

Great video! Funny that you guys mention Rukia's Bankai making her look like an Ice Princess. The Author of Bleach has gone on record saying that Rukia's Zanpakuto was designed to be reminiscent of a Yuuki-Onna from Japanese Yokai folklore, being impossibly beautiful women that would lure people in with their looks before freezing them to death.

There's a big difference between Toshiro and Rukia, because while both of them use ice, they do different things. Toshiro's ability pulls moisture of the atmosphere to make a glacier's worth of ice, either to trap his opponents or mold it into different shapes. Rukia's power doesn't produce its own ice, it drains the temperature out of everything around her, which is horrifying in of itself. They both do unique approaches to ice. Toshiro ability is significantly more versatile, and it has no risk to himself, but he has trouble finishing fights with an equally powerful enemy. Rukia's ability is one of the deadliest in the series, but she dances on razor's edge by using it.

Fun little detail: Rukia's bankai is the exact opposite of Ichigo's bankai. Tensa Zangetsu causes Ichigo's power to compress, enshrouding him in black and improving his speed and mobility. Hakke no Togame cause Rukia's power to expand, draping her in white and making her completely immobile.

Rukia is even more impressive being that she started out giving all of her powers to ichigo, and after that her spirit power was sealed off leading up to her execution, she has had to claw her way all the way to where she is now, she will be deadly once she learns to control her bankai more.

Let’s go! I have been waiting to see Äs Nödt’s Vollständig be animated and it did not disappoint. It was great to see Rukia’s beautiful Bankai as well as the return of Byakuya. They got me hype with Ichigo being officially on his way and saying how he’ll take care of things 🤘🏽Seeing the panel of Yachiru punching the Sternritter at the end was awesome to see and I want Kenpachi to show up and get to work already! I love Byakuya's response to her bankai. You can tell from his fight with Ichigo that to him, bankai is a right of passage, especially from the noble houses and the gotei 13. Theres a level of expectation with a bankai as far as hes concerned. Not only does he acknowledge her strength. But recognizes the beauty and power of that bankai. It doesnt surprise me what happened with her career later on.

Byakuya was there to encourage Rukia and that interaction and dynamic between Byakuya and Rukia is one of the best things in Bleach. Just remember how was their relationship in SS Arc. Rukia did 90% of everything herself and + she also defeated one of the Espada Alone. Both her fights are written beautifully. The irony of fear losing is also great. Kubo is unmatched when it comes to fights writing

i really loved rukia's bankai..my fave one ever since i read it hw mny years ago..she was always been my fave woman in bleach..and im so happy to see her bankai being animated.. now, the danger is not her being frozen, bcuz she is already frozen in that state..thats the power..the danger is her being shattered into pieces bcuz she is frozen.. the difference between toshiro's and rukia's is toshiro is purely ICE..rukia is snow and freezing..

Amidst the herculean physical strength of many of the cast his creepy, insidious, primal aspects to his power add a different dimension to his scenes. As someone who read the manga they nailed him. I do encourage anybody to read the TYBW arc purely for the different artistic experience. His panels/pages alone make it worth it. I truly feel the dichotomy of his central power being fear because of spending his life in constant agony/fear created a humanistic element to him. Yhwach gave As Nodt meaning to his suffering, Yhwach's motivation being both pragmatic and his guiding purpose/morality. (Which has been slowly unveiling) Another 10/10 episode. Kubo's direct involvement in the anime has been sublime

This is one of the episodes where both headphones are necessary they did some cool audio effects with as nodt … maybe rewatch with surround sound speakers or both headphones to really feel the fear 😂

They killed it this episode, its pretty 50/50 when it comes to horror scenes in anime wether it turns out good or cheesy, but the combination of the voice actor and the production made it legit worthy of the manga, as well as the beautiful portrayal of Rukia's Bankai

Yes, what Äs Nödt does here is called Quincy "Vollständig". That is indeed German for "Whole" or "Complete". His Vollständig is called "Tatar Foras" which roughly translates to "Fear of God".

The last member of Squad Zero Made the Clothes that everyone who was at the Soul Palace was wearing to get to past the barrier in the Soul Society. So her "training" was doing their measurements to make clothes that would fit them perfectly. She became a member because she made the uniforms that the soul Reapers wear.
