Zane Wv Thirty drawbar, sixty flywheel. Although Rumely always underrated their engines, its probably more like 35-70.

Zane Wv They would probably be considered an advancement on the design, although they would commonly run side by side. These engines where fairly advanced for their day, they used fly ball governed throttles and had fairly advanced mixers, the predecessor to the carburetor. Very smooth runners, great for threshing. The engine would automatically adjust it's throttle according to load, all the driver had to do was input the RPM he wished it to run at, the fly balls did the rest.

They still hold fuel efficiency records, so at least theres that😆

Loaded on a flat deck low boy she does it in about 55 seconds.

We only used the belt starting to get it going since it hadn't run in over a decade. Now that it's properly tuned up we can start it up with the crank.

It was having troubles that day, they decided to swap it out and go work on it.

You are right, some models had a different rotation direction. It would seem when the company switched to engine designs with 90 degree crank profiles they also decided to reverse the rotation of the engine, maybe to bring them inline with most other manufacturers. Good eye.

Some of the big Case tractors did, they tapped power off the engine and used it to operate the chain steering shaft via set of clutches operated by the steersman.
