Indeed. They were the pioneers who have planted what can never be replicated. Just one of those things. I mean I’d play in any trio band of just one bass player, one guitarist and one drummer, but none will do justice to Rush.

@vinaymulukutla3582 жыл бұрын
They were so unbelievably professional yet never spared a charismatic stage presence. Despite being a multi-instrumentalist, Geddy never allowed stand ins or backing musicians to play his instruments and playing everything as best as he could himself. That is one of the most admirable things about Rush, you got only the three guys on stage given that they were that proficient on their instruments.
@samwoodward38927 жыл бұрын
People give Geddy stick due to his ageing voice, but you have to appreciate the fact it is still in rather good condition for a 62 year old

I will sign today if i am offered to get to 64 ( he will be 65 on 7/28/18) IN THAT SHAPE!
@entelechy20205 жыл бұрын
His voice certainly isn't what it used to be but he works with it the best he can. He sings much more melodically utilizing his lower register on this tour than the last couple tours. Ged can still sing, but anything in his usual higher register he lost between the end of the Snakes & Arrows tour & Time Machine (thankfully he didn't pull a Paul Stanley and shit the bed totally). Though I think Rush and touring kept him young, he's aged quite a bit since Rush ended, still looks great for his age but seems it's catching up.
@mycroft165 жыл бұрын
It's actually kind of amazing how well he sounded on R40 given the decades of insane touring schedules he put that voice through. They were playing on tour like 2/3 - 3/4 of a year in their earlier years. That has to take a toll. So, seriously, no complaints from me.
@PedroLeo1164 жыл бұрын
I don't know about you but I like the way his voice aged and how he sings now, not that It is better than when he were young, but I've come to like it much more than compared to other singers.

Absolutely goes back to their roots. Bass, guitar, drums, playing all the notes, at once, seamlessly. There will NEVER be a band this good. Anywhere.

Saw Rush 12 times, first pre-GUP tour 9/19/83 at Radio City Music Hall, last ironically at Radio City in 2004 for R30. After watching vids from the Snakes tour I said I won't see them in concert anymore; Ged's voice was shot during the MP 30th anniversary tour, and many shows this tour he was straining and sounds nasal, felt sorry for him trying to hit notes that he once owned (sadly reminds me of Neil's lyrics in "Losing It"). I was a fan since 1981 and can honestly say they should have hung it up in 2008.
