The third of our exclusive reviews of this awesome thermal Spotter/Add-on/Scope...
Bruce explains the pros and cons of the HIKMicro Thunder TQ50C as a front-end add-on, against his existing add-on, the Pulsar Krypton FXG50. Then we later tested them side-by-side and everyone preferred the image from the TQ50C, so the FXG50 was only better in that it was quicker to swap between spotter and add-on.
Including lots of varied paddock footage of rabbits and horses (NO SHOOTING INVOLVED)

Very good video, as always. One of the most interessting parts is the view through the scope. It is very rare on KZfaq to see through a scope with a clip on attached. Thanks.

@@fagin216 Hi Daz, the previous parts of this review included spotter footage, so the pest control is with the TQ50C in the dedicated riflescope mode, as a TQ50; better quality image that way using the full sensor & display. Cheers. Russ

Looks a great set up. But I'd leave it on the scope and use a separate monocular. Wouldn't be doing that in the dark, when a fox is ready to bolt.

Bought the TQ50S on the back of this review, great piece of kit, really impressed. Don't like not being able to zoom in when zeroing and the click values are too high, read comments that could be as much as 0.75 to 1.0 moa, have been told by the Hikmicro FB group that a firmware update will be available, probably in January, that will address these issues. Out on the foxes with it tonight.

Hi there, nice one. 👍 Bruce reported the click values on the TQ50C we reviewed (& he now owns) were 0.5MOA in scope mode and 1MOA in front add-on mode. I have been watching your video about the Pard SA and here the HICMicro Thunder TQ50. I want to invest I a Thermal scope, but witch scope would you recommend, the Pard SA50 LRF or the HICMicro Thunder TQ50. The Hik has no LRF, unfortunately. Hope you can give me an advice. Thanks.

Hi Peter, well there's also a HIKMICRO Panther coming out sometime soon (which I'm hoping we can also review ASAP), which is basically a Thunder TQ50 spec' scope + LRF (with 18650 batteries). You should get Bruce to look through the back of his Krypton as he states in his TQ50C review that the Kryton uses the complete display. He's wrong. It only uses 960x720 resolution (which is clearly seen when looking through the rear of the device) if it was to use the complete screen there would be no way to adjust the internal collimination. No clipon uses the complete screen for this reason

Does this happen with the th35c, in add on mode it loses pixel density? And with the eye piece on its high pixel density? Thanx

Sorry I don't know without reviewing (or at least trying) the TH35C. 🤷🏻‍♂️

There's not a clip on the market that uses the whole screen, they can't because of the way the collimimation needs to be set up. Even the krypton only uses 960x720 resolution of its high resolution screen. The pixelation isn't coming from the screen size is coming from the convertor. The convertor has a very small aperture lens in it causing the issue. It's the same for the TH35.

The pulsar krypton is shit fullstop… it’s green in colour when looking through it nothing like normal thermal rip off.

I should mention some user prefer the greenish tinge that comes with some NV or thermal, as they find it easier on the eyes. But the clarity of the view through the HIKMICRO TQ50 is outstanding. Cheers. Russ

I've used my krypton in a load of hunting situations. And mine isn't green! Got some rat footage to upload on to my KZfaq channel when I get back home from work. (Keith Rowley pard007)
