You know that power move where someone you’ve already met introduces themselves again like they have no idea who you are? Russell Westbrook basically did that to Reggie Jackson, but times 1,000.
Reggie Jackson was Russell Westbrook’s back up for 3.5 years. Yet, a little over half a year after they parted ways, Westbrook was asked about Jackson and simply responded, “Who?”
I can think of no colder response.
Now, that’s not to say Reggie Jackson was totally innocent in this beef. While teammates, he found ways to prod Westbrook. As opponents, he prodded even harder in the form of gratuitous celebrating.
The beef between Russell Westbrook and Reggie Jackson stemmed from the classic friction between a starter and his back up-- only it escalated quickly because both players have a unique variety of aggressive confidence.
