So far so good! Another banger from Babymetal! I didn't say much in this video...that's usually because I'm enjoying the music. I don't think I mention it in the video, but I enjoyed the choreography too. It went really well with the music.

What I find most impressive and unusual about Karate is that it works really well as both a Metal and a Pop song at the same time. Every now and then I keep noticing one or the other. The "let us hear your voice" is one of my favourite moments, it always makes me a little teary-eyed. It's so sweet. The fact that she uses "voice" in singular makes it even better, even though I'm aware that it's probably just a language thing (as there is no numerus in Japanese). It feels like she addresses the crowd as The One.

In an interview after they seen it they said "we get it was worth the wait they where awesome " . BabyMetal toured with them after that in 2017 . 🤘🦊🤘

Since the early days in Japan, BABYMETAL has been performing at these music festivals as well as solo shows. In other words, they have been able to compete on stage with just their music, without any big production. The scene where Su- takes off her ear monitor and talks to the crowd, moved me. She was moved by the crowd who continues to listen even when they are in the rain.

Yui Yui Yui! THIS is the song that introduced me the the Amazing World of Japanese Music back in July/August 2016. I was at work and they had an alternative radio station playing (JJJ for those that know) and they played this song but I had missed the start so I had NO idea who it was, so when I got home I got onto YT for the first time and looked up Japanese Metal. Strangely the first band I came across was Wagakki Band (did not know at the time it was all in Katakana) then I found Band-Maid's Real Existence before finding KARATE. The rest is ....... yea we all know

Good reaction, thanks! It rained so hard during the festival that it was renamed as "Drownload". The picture of their producer moping the water off the stage before their performance is priceless! Yeah, when Su says she wants to hear their voice she really means it. After all, that audience was under the rain all the time so they deserve to get some attention.

Su may seem older on stage due to she says she takes on a whole new persona when she performs (paraphrasing her explanation). Off stage? She’s a 16ish-year old (at the time of this video) that just loves to sing 🎤 🎶

Drummer Hideki Aoyama is the son of a known drummer in Japan, Jun Aoyama, who passed away in 2013. He also lost his younger brother drummer Aoyama Yuk. Quote from Hideki Aoyama: I will be inheriting the will of Yuki and my father, who were both drummers and showed love for their work.

You need to check out their 1st festival in the west at Sonisphere 2014. They had not hit yet and were afraid no one would come see them as they could not see the crowd from backstage. In interviews Su said that a Sonisphere was their biggest moment. They ended the set with Ijime Dame Zettai, it is must watch to see the history of the band.

_How you feeling today?_ Imagine Korn waiting for you to perform on that rainy day? Well they did and enjoy that one of kind experience. With little interview included. Nice. Now you know the proper way to do the kitsune sign 🦊🤘 You should watch the official MV too. Our queen during that interlude always tearing my eyes, one of the very few times you'll see she's doing that sing along with the crowd. I like you noticed the difference on stage here, they not always relay on big productions, their beginning were with low budget production, but even after that in 2017 they did a series of live concerts called Five Fox Festival, going back to the roots and performing on "little" stages, more like a clubs, but with certain special requirements to attendee. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time, and now that you know, always put your kitsune up 🦊🤘 _LIVINLEGEND_ _10BABYMETALYEARS_

Nice reaction. That was the great downpour festival that year. They delayed their performance because of the rain. When Su starts to sing I still get chills all these years later. Su is a different person on stage. Su is 10' tall on stage and off stage she's 5'2". You would never know if you only saw her on stage. Check out how Boh the bass player totally got into it. The members of the Kamiband (the backing band for Babymetal) have changed over the years. But I think Boh has done the most performances with them. They all have their own music projects. On the last world tour many of them could not make it due to schedule conflicts. So they created the east and West Kamibands. They did get to do a show together in Japan. Yui and Moa being such pro's they even went down on that rain covered stage. When they started that show their producer Koba can be seen pushing the water off the stage with a broom. You can say what you want about producers but Koba has been with them through it all. Including the downpour festival.

Great to see that you now can enjoy Babymetal for what it is (music, vocals, crowd engagement). Did you notice that it was heavily raining at Donwload? Even Kobametal helped mopping the stage before the show to make it somewhat secure and the crowd didn’t disperse despite heavy rain. Su is an outstanding performer and singer probably because she is doing it since she was 6 years old lol. You are absolutely right Hideki on the drums always makes it look so relaxed and easy but the truth is, he is giving everything he can and even had to be carried off stage after one of the Tokyo Dome shows because he couldn’t walk anymore xd.

Wow. Tell us more. I've never heard that. I heard Moa and Yui cried after a performance because they felt their performance was sub par. Anyone know of this?
@Killem911
@Killem911 2 жыл бұрын
@@kilbridemeredith8742 I know that Yui and Moa had no idea how to preserve some of their stamina in the early shows and just went on stage giving 110% from the start which made it hard for them to keep up with their performance until the end of the show. Sometimes they felt like they are going to collapse on stage so they had to learn that the hard way lol. Another thing that comes to mind is that Su’s in ear monitors failed on several shows and she had to sing just based on the drums she was able to hear. You wouldn’t notice that in her performance at all which shows what an amazing and outstanding performer she is. Also, at the Budokan shows Yui fell of the stage (about 8 feets down, ouch) and was back for the next song whilst Moa slipped (or better face planted ) and cracked her ankle or knee during the run up for IDZ but completed the performance with clear pain in her face. What a bunch of professionals they truly are.

Karate (Babymetal song) "Karate" is a song by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal from their second studio album, Metal Resistance. The song was released to active rock radio as an airplay-only single in the United States on February 26, 2016. "Karate" •Single by: Babymetal. •Album: Metal Resistance. •Language: Japanese. •Released: February 26, 2016. •Genre: J-pop, nu metal, metalcore. •Length: 4:23. •Label:RAL, Sony Music. •Songwriter: Yuyoyuppe. •Producer: Kobametal. •Yuyoyuppe: (arrangement) Babymetal singles chronology:- •"Gimme Chocolate!!" (2015). •"Karate"(2016). •"Distortion" (2018). Background and release:- According to Suzuka Nakamoto, "Karate" is reminiscent of the song "Megitsune", which "is popular among international fans. [The song] has not only Babymetal vibes, but also has Japanese elements. Its lyrics portray a strong will to go on, no matter what happens in your life." The song is a nu metal song that contains elements of metalcore. Composed by Yuyoyuppe and arranged under the name Yuppemetal, "Karate" also features djent-like riffs, and a J-pop melody. Loudwire's Graham Hartmann described the song as "incredibly charming. Instrumentally, it’s also heavy as hell. The song’s main riff is way low on the sonic spectrum, chugging away in a no-nonsense djent fashion." Kikuchi explained that the lyrics are about never giving up and always moving forward, no matter what difficulties need to be endured. Furthermore, Yui Mizuno described how the dance moves were made to help express the message of the song, as most of the lyrics were in Japanese. Reception:- "Karate" received generally positive reviews from music critics. Lars Gotrich of NPR Music described the song as "catchy and grandiose" praising Nakamoto's vocal performance, comparing her to Evanescence lead vocalist Amy Lee. Jon Hadusek from Consequence of Sound called the song, as well as "From Dusk Till Dawn" essential tracks from the album. While reviewing Metal Resistance, Jordan Bassett of NME praised the song, describing it as "fast and furious until jangling, arpeggiated guitar alters the rhythm." Hartmann praised the song's chorus, calling it "one of the catchiest pieces [Babymetal] has crafted to date." "Karate" peaked at number two on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart on the issue dated March 19, 2016, spending fourteen weeks on the chart. The song debuted at number 24 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, for the week of March 12, 2016. After the release of the band's second album Metal Resistance, in the week of May 7, 2016, the song peaked at number 17, spending a total of twelve weeks on the chart. Live performances:- "Karate" premiered at Yokohama Arena on December 12, 2015, during the final dates of the Babymetal World Tour 2015, and was added to the setlist of the Babymetal World Tour 2016, performed on the first tour date at Wembley Arena. The song had its first televised performance at TV Asahi's Music Station on April 22, 2016. The song's choreography contained interpolations of karate moves, as shown in the music video. BABYMETAL WIN FIVE HONORS IN THE 6TH ANNUAL LOUDWIRE MUSIC AWARDS:- Japanese pop-metal sensation Babymetal are one of the 6th Annual Loudwire Music Awards’ biggest winners, as their fans voted them to victory in five separate categories. The teen trio and their phenomenal backing musicians have rocketed to the top of the metal world, and in many ways, the worlMd of music. Babymetal’s rabid fanbase filled the Tokyo Dome two nights in a row, so it’s no surprise the band won the Most Devoted Fans award for the second year in a row, this time edging out fellow Japanese act X Japan. Babymetal’s Metal Resistance album proved the group wouldn’t go out as a one hit wonder. It kicks in hard with “Road of Resistance” and keeps moving with anthemic cuts that are criminally catchy. Metal Resistance won Best Metal Album in our latest awards, while “Karate” took home the trophy for Best Metal Song. 2016 was Babymetal’s year for touring, playing Wembley early in the year, appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, taking over North America, playing the Tokyo Dome and finally supporting Red Hot Chili Peppers in the UK. For Babymetal’s accomplishments, they’ve been voted Best Live Act. Finally, frontwoman Su-metal claimed victory in our Rock Goddess of the Year category, beating out beloved singers like Amy Lee and Cristina Scabbia. Karate Romaji Lyrics - Seiya sessesse seiya. Ah, Karate at Download 2016.... This is my goto vid to show my friends what Babymetal is all about. Other people might show Headbanger, Road of Resistance, or Rondo of Nightmare..... Those are great performances, don't get me wrong, but this here is basic Babymetal. Su's Vocals, the Kamiband rocking out, Yui and Moa leading the crowd, and the Crowd participation. In some of their Japan mega concerts you'd expect the Japanese crowd to go bonkers, but to see the look of surprise on my friends faces, when they witness a sea of non-Japanese metal heads, singing along with 3 little Japanese girls... That is priceless. Babymetal brings everyone together.... Fun fact about this show. The year before this one the people who run Download said they would never allow Babymetal to play there. Well Herman and the boys from Dragonforce snuck the girls in and had them do a couple songs on the big stage with them. Which is what Su was referring to in the intro. There's footage of an interview floating around during that show of Herman being asked about the girls as they walk around in full costume checking out the sights.

Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。In a recent interview, Su said this Download 2016 was one of the most impressive festivals because of the heavy rain. The condition on the stage was so horrible and slippery that the 3 girls cautioned each other to watch their steps. (You can actually see Su slipping lightly at 03:04 in your video). They had to extremely concentrate on their performance and the team heartily got relieved after finishing it. But Su also said they were very happy to see the crowd waiting for them in such drenched condition. In addition, she thought the heavy rain worked as some kind of stage effects to make their performance look dramatic to the audiences in a fever. I love such a positive mindset of Su to accept any situation. Now in 2021, They performed this song in each and every concert of 10 BABYMETAL Budokan. Su hit the high note at the end flawlessly with matured voice and made audiences rejoice. I was there ヽ(^o^)丿

This is my favorite performance of Karate, you have the girls great as always, and the band on fire. With Su taking out her earpiece wanting to hear the crowd is great, but my favorite part of this is Boh...the way is he is going all out with his performance...I love it.

Su seems older because she transforms from a shy, awkward girl to a force of nature on stage. She been up there since she was what, 5? 7? Long enough that she obviously feels comfortable up there.

She started her career in entertainment at the age of 3 as a child model. The oldest video on KZfaq of little Suzuka is from when she was 5 modeling nail polish for kids made by the Bandai toy company. The video is called: Suzuka Nakamoto ☆ kids Collection 2003 【BABYMETAL】. So before Babymetal got started she already had almost 10 years of experience in entertainment, then with 10+ years of Babymetal she already has 20 years of experience standing in front of the spotlights.

Great reaction as always. In this performance Su-metal would have been 18 (turning 19 in Dec. she was born in Dec, 1997), the intro was from a couple of years before.

@@RyanMear He is correct about the age, but the intro was obviously from the same year, they wear the same dresses and it was also the first time they've performed at Download their own set. A year earlier they were denied a spot by a download promoter who tweeted "There's a time & a place for Baby Metal. Each to their own but Download Festival is not it", so Dragonforce invited them to perform a feature together during their set, Su talks about it in the intro, just politely ommits uncomfortable details ;)
