Check out the Ryobi 18V Bolt Cutter Review on model P592, which is tool only. The battery I'm using is a 6AH, 18v One+, which is capable of running over 100 other Ryobi tools. I tested this bolt cutter out on some thick hardened steel as well as thin wire. I did learn that the cutters are replaceable and adjustable, so it could cut very small things, if needed. If you have any questions about this bold cutter, please let me know as well as your comments. This bolt cutter runs about $99 for the tool only. I'll provide links below, so you can check out all the specs.

Question of the day: What would you like to see this tested out on? What steel item do you cut the most often, where this would come in handy?
This tool is provided as part of the ProSpective Program with The Home Depot. I just want to say thank you to them as well as Ryobi Tools for providing this bolt cutter and sponsoring this video.

You need to hold the button down not let go as soon as it stops. It’ll keep cutting through.

FYI, page 6 of the instructions tells you how to adjust the jaws to close the gap. Mine, too, came with the gap. But it's easy to adjust so that they close all the way. Just takes a couple 13mm wrenches, then you turn an eccentric bolt to adjust the gap between the jaws.

After testing it, would you recommend this over the Ryobi Angle Grinder for cutting? Seems the A/G could be used in many more situations, and still be used to cut bolts too.. And appreciate that if you needed ONLY a bolt-cutter, or delicate areas where you don't want sparks flying, this might be great.. But....just seems an angle grinder with a cut-off wheel would get more use.. Glad you did the video though.. Informative! Thank you..

I would like a battery powered angle grinder. I'm sure I would use it more often than my electric Milwaukee A/G. The bolt cutters are quick, neat and clean though. If I were installing wire shelves often, I would want the bolt cutters. Hope that helps!

When working with any power tools always wear safety goggles. You can't replace a penetrated eyeball. Thick welders gloves may also give your hands and fingers a chance if you ever slip or stuff bounces or shoots out the wrong way.💥😮💨😜💨😋💨🤖💨😎

Thank you for the review! That padlock’s shackle may claim to be hardened, but speaking from experience it is quite soft. For a padlock with a truely hardened shackle, without spending too much, try a Master model M930. It isn’t dirt cheap, but you won’t find a shackle that tough for less money. For something many tradies cut quite often, try cutting some rebar.

I would like to see the cutter, cut through the cages of a tapered roller bearing, multiple sizes ( 2" up to 8") I need to break down a lot of bearings to get the rollers and cages off of them. Down to the naked cone.

If you keep pushing the button it will keep cutting in increments till it goes all the way thru. Just hold it till it stops, let go, press again and again till its thru. I have one and it has cut everything I can fit in the jaws!
