I just bought instrument looking slightly different, but some details (such as binding) are exactly the same, and label... hand-written label looks even elder than that at Neil Ta Music website. Handwritten letters are the same. I hope I am lucky ;) now need to wait for delivery...

An amazing instrument. It's candid, direct yet sonorous. It's like a premium fortified wine. Not even a slightest hint of nasal sounding, biting mids (as mediocre classical guitars often sound). It reveals all - if you are up to it, and dare to play really well. This guitar encourages you and enables you to play better.

Wow Zvonimir, what wonderful words. Are you a poet or a writer? Being able to describe sound is one of the most difficult things to do. Being able to hear and recognise the sonic beauty of a guitar is even more challenging. I applause you and thank you for the contribution.

[UPDATE] after some more research, I found few such guitars sold in recent years, one was No.3, another one No.2, and owners were just guessing “it is number 3” because previous owner told them so…. I cut specifically three letters in Kanji at bottom of label (image file) and uploaded it to Google Translate, and it translated it as… *Special Issue*!!! So image translated as “special issue”; but when I submitted text instead it of image, it was translated as “No. 1”. I found another site which translates it as “special version / number one” (dual meaning, depends on context). So, it is not number one ;) it is not same as “no. 10”, “no. 50” which we had two decades later. It is just “special”, custom made guitar, unique. In one instance I found seller was selling it as No.3 just because the same hand-written label had blue-ink stamp on it, “3”, which was put probably decades later. P.S. here is translation by Japanese person (not by a computer), 第壱号 - first number/original model. So, mistake in translation and associations with later numbering systems made it “No. 1 Special”. I’d translate it as “custom built” since all these first models are different.

Hi Neil .. I bought a Ryogi Matsouka M18 as a 19year boy then … I still have it wt me now. What more can I know of this model .. TQ bro

Hello Abraham, the 18 is very close to the 20, usually it differed in a small detail such as a cheap tuning head machine or a different batch of tone wood. So the retail price would have been 18,000 Japanese yarn rather than 20,000. It’s a laminate top guitar. Depending on the production year. It could be a very good guitar. Warm regards.

⁠@@NeilTaMusic Tq bro Neil for the reply. The top look more a solid wood.. still very good condition n very vibrant sound and today my tis guitar is 44yrs old. I’m 63yrs old. 35 yrs ago I bought a Alhambra Model 3C Senorita wt a attached Ribbon Transducer Interface pickup. Brilliant sound.

@@NeilTaMusic Hi Neil Ta, I got the M30 Marsuoka model. It sounds awesome. I got it when I traveled to Hanoi in 2014. There were 2 Japanese guitars but I chose the M30 because of it rich sounds.
