The only way to win, is not to play. Discard the ideology of racial identity and the social hierarchy collapses. The whole system is built on the backs of the participating lower class. No more acquiecence. Our ancestral roots were in matriarchal (not feminist) heterarchies. Return to the system of our ancestors, no more divisions in the human race.

I've just bought a new Yamaha NCX1, it has a very fine grittines on parts of the back of the neck, the texture is not perfectly smooth as you would expect, considering it has a satin finish how can i fix it?
@NeilTaMusic
@NeilTaMusic 2 ай бұрын
You have two options: 1. Make the whole back of the neck satin finish by gently rubbing it with 0000 grit steel wool, or 2. Polish it with super fine sand paper starting from 2000 grit and making your way gradually to 10000 grit or polishing compound. Many professional players ask me to make their guitar necks satin finish as this has less friction and allows them to move their hands faster.
@JimmySlacksack
@JimmySlacksack 2 ай бұрын
@@NeilTaMusic I did get some 0000 wire wool which did the job, strangely tho the finish on the back of the neck now seems closer to gloss than to a matte finish which is what I would prefer, is there an easy way to make it matte/satin again? a more course wool perhaps?

@NeilTaMusic
@NeilTaMusic 2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words. The CG182S is a great guitar, almost indistinguishable from the 192. We call it the teacher’s guitar, because it has a decent sound and you’re not afraid it may get (accidentally) damaged by students. I still have one for that same purpose. The 220 is a wonderful guitar, it was produced for the local Japanese market. Depending on the production year and the batch number you may be able to get one with full solid timber. The 220 was replaced by a the 240, 245, 250 and 255 which were the export models. Best wishes.

Yes, my advice is always buy another guitar if you want to install a pick on. It. Don’t do it in your concert guitar. However there are people who insist on having a pick up installed onto their guitars. I’ve done hundreds of pick installs and my advice again and again, it to buy a cheaper guitar for gigs and non-classical performances.

While there are general tendencies regarding the tonal qualities of different woods used in guitar construction, it's important to note that individual preferences can vary greatly among guitarists. Some may indeed prefer the warm and resonant qualities of rosewood for accompanying singing, while others may find that mahogany guitars suit their vocal accompaniment needs just fine. In the end, the choice of wood for a guitar's sides and back is just one factor among many that contribute to its overall sound and playability. Factors such as the guitar's construction quality, setup, and the player's technique all play significant roles in determining how suitable a guitar is for singing and playing.
@NeilTaMusic
@NeilTaMusic 3 ай бұрын
Well said. It’s a matter of preference and on the intended purpose among all the good points you’ve mentioned above. Ultimately, the common elements of what makes a good guitar is ease of playability ie whether it’s setup up properly to suit a player’s technique and allows the him/her to express themselves. That’s the one thing every player wants when they bring me their guitars to customise.

Great demo and great guitar upgrades, well done! I have an A 553 from the Matsumoku Factory era, very old. Really good sounding and comfortable to play, I like her very much. But she could indeed ring out a little louder and a bit brighter... and you showed me what to do! Thank you very much 😊 I had 5 others of the same model in the past, made by different manufacturers for Aria, this model is appreciated by many people, not only for classical and Flamenco style - for example if you like to play Latin or Jazz or Gypsy Jazz on a nylon guitar, it sounds just right. I met aleeady two guys who were educated classical players and owned several expensive high-end guitars, but still kept and liked their first guitar - an A 553.
