**Corrections & Updates** YT user Dean Kim kindly pointed out that that the E15hp2 is actually 900w RMS. I mistakenly assumed based on the amplifier name HX1000 that it was a 1000w.

I am a DIY guy, so I appreciate that Rhythmik actually sell their drivers with amplifiers, so you can design your own enclosure and finish. I modelled the 15" drivers (I think the one in the E15 should be either the DS1502 or DS1510). I have to say, just from the specs they seem very nice. Nearly as good as it gets. Very efficient due to relatively light cones, so it has plenty midbass headroom but still able to play low with about 1,2" peak - to - peak excursion. 103dB@20Hz in a sealed box (anechoically). That's pretty impressive. Sadly, it is quite difficult to get their products here in Europe

Because, what else can you say that expresses it? Haha. For the subs, I want to see you review a G25HP and the F18, then cross compare with the E15HP2. Hey Luke, the KF92 is fantastic in it's own right but much like the little brother KC62 a lot of the KF92 magic is the incredible extension you get for the size as the KF92 is still a small subwoofer while the E15 is medium sized but if you can accommodate the larger e15 you will have a lot more headroom and consistent extension at louder volumes.

absolutely love your reviews. Would love your advice. Room is 19x14x9. currently have 4 B&W CTSW12, powered by 2 CTSA1000 amps. 2 hang above the seating area, 2 are in a cabinet in the front. But I just got DIRAC live bass for my Arcam receiver and need 4 discreet subwoofers. I was either 1. buy 2 more B&W 1,000 w amps (but they don't go that low). or replace the front 2 subwoofers, and keep the rear 2 each running their own amp. My limitation is size of the cabinet, 18" wide, 18.5" deep 28" high. Do you know if the E15 amp can be rack mounted away from the subwoofer? My rack is upstairs 45 ft away, so this would be the easiest and I don't have enough depth for any breathing room behind the sub. Would you do 2 F12SE up front? or try to figure out how to get 2 E15's up front with a custom cabinet? SVS SB3000 should fit, KEF KF92 would fit (but dual firing, the subs would be firing against the cabinet doors). I can get 2 18" deep sea subwoofers custom built to fit as well ($5,700). Budget is ideally closer to $4k but would go higher. Just want the absolute best theater sound given some of my constraints of the cabinet. since it's already wired to have a remote amp I'd prefer that, otherwise I gotta hire someone to run 2 45ft rca cable which isn't the end of the world. all my other speakers are B&W diamond series in walls.

I could use another opinion: I have a 20x25x7 ft room (3500 ft3). I will mostly use for music, but do you think the E15 600w would be enough power in a HT situation? I am trying not to justify the High Powered version to save a little money if I can help it.

I think the 600w will be enough for a lot of people but how much bass is enough is so personal. If you're worried it won't be enough just spring for the 1000w version, no audiophile ever regrets having too much power.

@nemo Great review. Love your videos! Would love your advice on my situation.. I have been researching various Subs. Tried REL, SVS sealed as well as ported. I would like to go for 4 subs in 4 corners. My room is 19x14x8. 70% Movies, 30% Music. My Anthem AVM 70 is coming tomorrow (excited!!). I am comfortable with REW; have miniDSP HD. I somehow didn't like ported ones.. and since I am going with 4 subs, don't really need extra output of ported equivalents. So want to go Sealed that do a good job at movies.. hence just ordered 2 REL 1508 Predators for the fronts. For the rear ones, I was going to go with SVS SB 3000s. But now contemplating either Rythmik E22 or E15HP2. E22 is termed as hybrid sub where as E15 geared towards Music (?). Any advice on my approach of 4 sealed? And any recommendations on Rythmik E22 , E15 models or SVS SB 3000? Thanks in advance! Update: Just watched your vid of FVX12. Although ported, maybe that's also a contender??
@NemoPropaganda

When a large sub such as the E15 is advertised as good for music that does not mean it's not also great for HT. It means it's so good it can also be used for music which is far more demanding of fidelity than HT is. I have not heard the predator or E22 so it's really hard for me to comment here but I believe those are all fantastic options. I'd start with the pair of predators and see how you like them and for OCD sake I'd just add a pair of HT-1205 at the rear. I don't see any reason to mix brands in this scenario but if you're looking for extremely strong tactile bass of course the larger & more powerful SB3000 will give you even more of that.

Subwoofers, for me, add the foundation and background on which the rest of the music is built and etched against. Even in pieces with no discernable low end, a subwoofer will make your music spring forward because, unless it's removed, there is always ambience in the performance that that anchors it in real life, spatial cues if you will. If you just want loud monoprice will do that, if you want loud with excellent sound quality that's what Rythmik is for. Nemo, did you find that the 15" sounds deeper than the 12's? I'm not talking about extension here though. I've found during my testing of many different subs that the larger ones have a deeper tone to them. People on AVSForum will shoot it down saying "a 30hz tone is a 30hz tone, should always sound the same" but in my testing that's not the case. I would also say in my opinion 15" is the perfect sweet spot for speed, tightness and sounding deep.
@NemoPropaganda

I know exactly what you are referring to and yes. In fact when I say the word deeper I am usually referring to your definition of it and not simply extension. The F12 still has plenty of that, much more than your average 12 but the larger E15 steps it up for sure.

here is a clip from my discord, it summarizes all my thoughts between the two subs and I don't have anything additional to say on the topic aside fromthis: Predator 1510 vs Rythmik E15hp2: I think it's important to keep in mind Rythmik is only available in a few countries while REL is available globally so if Rythmik is not available in your region just buy the 1510. The E15hp2 has a few options including a painted finish and has a narrower look while the 1510 comes in vinyl (with a painted top) and is much wider but looks much shorter in the room. As far as bass quantity these are both bigger subs and both capable of tremendous output however the Rythmik does extend a few hertz lower. As far as sound goes the Rythmik is the classic SQ subwoofer with audiophile bass that comes from an ink black background, bass that never draws attention to itself, and excellent handling of delicate passages. Rythmik is a great example of how going manufacturer direct can get you more bang for your buck (for US customers at least). The 1510 is also very capable of many of these SQ characteristics with the primary difference being a tone that is a touch heavier than the Rythmik. The 1510 doesn't draw attention to itself but it's bass is heavier handed (kind of like JL though nowhere near as heavy handed) and your attention may be drawn to the bass region of the movie or music in a way that makes you go "holy shit". Both subwoofers blend seamlessly and integrate perfectly. In short the E15hp2 is SQ 100% while the Predator 1510 is 95% SQ with 5% of that SPL style heaviness. For context if JL Audio is a 10 on a 1-10 scale of SPL heaviness and Rythmik is 1 out of 10 on that scale of SPL heaviness the Predator 1510 is like 3 out of 10 for SPL heaviness. Personal taste will be a big factor here. Both subwoofers are non-DSP purist pieces so no surprise I love the hell out of both of them.

@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda Жыл бұрын
the F12 is among the best 12" subwoofers you can buy however the larger E15 will have a much fuller sound and a much larger sense of scale and a more effortless presentation simply due to the larger size and will not give up any speed or transient response. As far as versus an old Velodyne, the E15 should be a very big upgrade. Grab the E15hp2 and don't even look back. Conversly the F15 should be identical and offer up .5dB more headroom

that's a logical assumption but in this case no. The E15hp2 builds on the F12SE in every way, same fidelity but more effortless, better at lower volumes, larger sense of scale, more extension, more force, the list goes on. If your room won't look silly with the larger E15hp2 I say go for it! If it's too big then go for the F12SE which is still absolutely outstanding. Rythmik is crazy good at making a large sub without any of the downsides large subs usually have so as you move up to their larger models you're not really giving up anything. Technically the smaller subs can be crossed over a a few hertz higher but I feel that's a moot point.

Nemo, someone in a forum said that it’s better to go Rythmik ported instead of sealed, in the same line, because the little bit you lose in accuracy will be made up 10 fold in output. What are your thoughts? Also, did your FVX12 have a lot more output than than the E15HP2?
@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda Жыл бұрын
E15hp2 has more output than the FVX12. While the FVX12 is physically a bit larger it is a 12" vs a 15" on the E15hp2. What that guy on the forum was saying was most likely for the same size subwoofer. Like yes for sure the FVX15 has more output than the E15hp2. Personally I love Rythmik ported subs as they are the best I have ever heard but ported subs are larger. If you can fit them for sure go for it, you will not regret it but the sealed versions still offer absolutely amazing performance in a much smaller package. Either way you're winning.

Hey Nemo, loved the review. I am currently auditioning an Arendal 1961S. It's pretty much like you described it, it doesn't care about how much bass the song calls for. It wants to make bass and lots of it. Tried an SVS sb3000, didn't care for the tone of the bass. Just didn't seem natural, and actually caused my ears to ring a bit( pressure I guess), but didn't experience it with the Arendal. We have an L22 in our living room and gotta say the Rythmik just tells it like it is. Had an fv15hp before in a different house,but it was just so damn big. Hard to accommodate moving it around to get the best positioning. Now I'm kind of gravitating back towards Rythmik, they are just so clean and precise. My quam is F-12, FVX-12 or stretch way beyond my budget and try to grab the E-15? My listening room is small, less than 1600 cubic ft. I am definitely an SQ over Spl guy. Finally got a pair of bookshelve speakers that are clean, and quick with little distortion ( even with metal) Gotta tell ya, CSS Criton 1tdx speakers fricking rock. I listen to jazz, all kinds of metal, hard industrial, pop and some dub step. But definitely trying to get a second b I can stick with for a long time. I think F12 will be the best option because it can blend the highest while still offering up great extension. It sounds like you have quite a collection of subs that you bought with your own money. If the E15HP2 was available before you bought the others and money wasn't an issue do you regret buying all the REL's.KEF92, and FVX12? I too have a lot of audio gear that certain pieces just make all the rest obsolete.
@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda 2 жыл бұрын
Sooo, most of what you mentioned are review samples but I get what you mean. The answer is mostly no from a technical standpoint but from a personal taste perspective of course I personally like some gear more than others and I will always have a Rythmik and a REL because they both fit my personal taste but the strong attack of JL Audio or SVS will always impress me, the crazy extension of the small KEF KF92 will always impress me, and the price to performance ratio of the RSL Speedwoofer will always impress me. So no it doesn't make gear obsolete. As far as a feeling of regret that's just not an emotion I feel too often. I can't remember the last time I felt regret towards anything. My father died when I was in my 20's and I do regret that sometimes I suppose, it would be cool to sometimes shoot the shit with him even though he was kind of an ass. I regret not having the opportunity to build a relationship with him as a grown man but that's out of my hands so I don't really think of it too often. Longer answer than you hoped for perhaps but the answer is no, I don't regret any of this. I view every purchase as a learning opportunity about my personal taste and the price of the gear is the price of learning more about myself if that makes sense.

Hey Nemo, trying to upgrade my T/9x not so much in terms of output but I can’t help but think the difference between -6db at 27hz and -2db at 14 hz leaves a lot of information out when my music has LFE type effects (soundtracks etc.) I know the F12 goes low but I believe you commented the T Series was possibly more dynamic (which I want) but I’m thinking the E15 improves upon that from the F12, not just in terms of overall output. Is there anything with the E15 that I will sit back and think huh, the T/9x was a little better at this or that? @NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda 10 ай бұрын
That's a tough question to answer, the F12 is badass, it's plenty dynamic on it's own and at that absolute limits of output it's actually more dynamic than the T9X so how loud you listen is also a factor. I think you're at the stage where you just have to order and try it out in your home. The E15hp2 and the T9X are both god tier subwoofers in terms of bass fidelity. The larger E15hp2 kicks that up tremendously with it's output potential, sense of scale, and extension that the smaller T9X can't be expected to match.

The E15 follows the same trend as most rythmik subwoofers being highly composed, staying in the background, enhancing the experience with incredible note to note distinction, fidelity, and extension. Conversely the Predator 1510 shares many of the same characteristics as both brands are obsessive with bass fidelity however the primary difference is the where the E15 is producing bass from an ink black background the Predator is a touch more aggressive with its bass delivery. If you want the ultimate SQ experience the E15 is like a bigger and more powerful version of the REL T9X sound where the Predator 1510 is more for people that might find those subwoofers a touch too composed and want there bass to be a little more noticeable. WOW!!! You almost seem at a loss for words as to just good this sub is. My eye is now on this prize for sure. It's no longer if but just a matter of when I'm getting an E15. I have had the FV15HP ported ported version of this sub in my dedicated HT room since 2011 and still works like a charm. This sealed E15 will go in a 2nd room I use for mainly for 2-channel stereo music. It's true as you say, Rythmik makes some of the best subwoofers in the world! Great review... why not just keep climbing up the ladder to the 18 inch subs from Rythmik next, I can only imagine what your reaction will be then... Great job and thanks alot for another insightful fantastic review!

Any thoughts on E15HP2 vs Predator 1510?
@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda Жыл бұрын
I posted this in the discord awhile ago: Predator 1510 vs Rythmik E15hp2: I think it's important to keep in mind Rythmik is only available in a few countries while REL is available globally so if Rythmik is not available in your region just buy the 1510.

Of what you remember from the F18 and G25, how would you compare it to the E15HP2? I talked to Enrico and he recommended a pair of the F18 over a pair of the the E15HP2 for my room size (4K cubic ft). I told him I don’t listen to music loud and he said it’s not about volume, it’s about room size. He said ideally I should have dual G25HPs, but those are huge and I don’t have the room, but they are actually what I want.
@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda 2 жыл бұрын
You're not the first person to feel that Enrico's recommendation might be too much for you. I think his recommendations come from years of experience and are designed for maximum customer satisfaction. Of course some customers will be just as happy with smaller subs but as a business owner you want to make sure your customer is 100% happy so it's best to recommend a little too much vs not enough because for sure people will be unhappy if their subwoofer is too small. Your room is about the size of the average car garage in my area which is 20x20 with 10ft ceilings. Anyone wanting reference theater levels of bass should go as large as they can fit. For the rest of us who are not hunting for maximum output we can go smaller. My guess is you will be extremely happy with a pair of e15hp2. However if you want a pair of G25hp but cannot fit them how about a pair of G22? I have one right now and it's extremely good and one of the most precise subwoofers I've had here.
@deankim6687
@deankim6687 2 жыл бұрын
@@NemoPropaganda Ya he said the G22 was the most accurate sub they have. But it has zero tactile response, which i don’t think is ideal for me. I told him that I watch your videos and he said before I decide on the E15HP2, wait for your G22 review. Regarding the bigger subs, even if I could fit the big subs in my room, do I want huge boxes in my living room? I also think the ability to place subs is important. Hard to have a couple of G25s disappear visually in your room. It might be better to have 3 or 4 E15HP2s rather than 2 G25s. Enrico said that 2 E15HP2s are basically equivalent to a G25HP. It’s a tough choice because these things aren’t exactly cheap.
@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda 2 жыл бұрын
@@deankim6687 okay so I'll give you a sneak peak bro, both subs are crazy good, extension, output, texture, nuance detail, handling of delicate passages, are all outstanding. The primary difference is the G22 is the more precise. The E15hp2 is also very precise but when I listen to the G22 I think "damn this thing has some precision" and when I listen to the E15hp2 I think "damn this just sounds amazing!" so both are incredibly good but unless the customer is obsessed with precision I personally like the E15hp2 more, but of course that is just my personal taste and I think the subs are both so equally good I wouldn't blame anyone for choosing based on physical looks or simply flipping a coin. My advice: pick the one you think will look better in the room. The sound from each is absolutely fantastic and more similar than different.

I have an E15HP in my home theater (the 600W RMS version). Best subwoofer I ever bought, both for music and movies. I used to have two, but when I moved to another house, I sold one because I created a small dedicated HT in which one sub was sufficient. For music in my living room I swapped it out for a smaller sub. I very much regret selling it.... If I ever want to go back to combining my living room for music and movies, I'd really want to go dual sub again (because of the size of the room and the amount of seats). I live in the Netherlands and shipping it in from the US is not as easy and cheap as it used to be. Best choice ever in going with Rythmik subs. Poor choice in selling one of them 😒

The pantry door was one of the big offenders but then I found that my fireplace chimney conduit is rattling like crazy. Well, was thinking about replacing the fireplace anyway. When certain notes are hit it sounds like every picture frame and door is rattling. It’s going to take me a lot of time to make the house compatible with this puppy. @@NemoPropaganda I figured. Well pair of FVX 12 is around $900 cheaper, I'd never push either to full volume (currently), and I like the idea of having low end without the sacrifice.
