Really? I've only heard the Bravus 8/10 models and found them to be killer for their size/looks in a theater setting but only just "okay" for music only. But I guess if you match them with speakers that use heavy drivers & voice coils then it would actually be a pretty decent match. They just couldn't keep up with lighter speakers like Focal.

Subbed for sure. Finally a reviewer who was able to review rythmik! I've been talking about them for years on KZfaq to different reviewers and comment sections and I think your the first. I was most interested in the lvx12. I will watch your video on the L12 and F12 to see what difference there is between to have an idea of any potential differences. Atleast the lvx12 has the same amp, not the same as L12, so the driver is the only difference. I'm considering going diy now since buying 2 rythmik lvx 12s - $1700. I found a build for 2 ported 18s that fit in boxes disguised as end tables, with 900w per channel amp controlled with dsp for approx the same price as 1 lvx12. Just need to be able to fit in your space and system, but sounds ideal if you can. Meant for dual duty systems I would think

If you have the skills I'd say go for it, otherwise a pair of FVX12 is $1803 with the 5% dual sub discount. 18" is just way too big for me, even as an end table that's a big end table lol.

@@NemoPropaganda I have a large open floor plan, so lots of air to pressurize to get the low notes, probably not the best for dedicated listening rooms. I'll be sure to build a mock up out of cardboard first to see, but it's 21x26x31? Smaller than most people would thing for an 18. I seen the same build where they built the 2 boxes into the sides of their TV stand and it looked amazing. I always wanted to go rythmik, but once I decided I wanted dual ported subs, the price made me think twice. I'm from Canada, so the shipping, exchange, duty adds a lot.

Great video as always! Is the F12G ever a contender for review? I saw in the past you said you don’t have much interest in “exotic” subs, but there is one prebuilt by rythmik with the GR woofer, as I’m sure you’re well aware. There’s only 1 review video on that sub and it’s one of the diy versions, so there’s not a lot of secondhand info on that sub, in comparison to other brands or even other subs in the same brand. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the super-high crossover and detail/performance versus other rythmik subs.

Love the channel and honest reviews. I have been trying to solve this subwoofer puzzle for quite some time, and going down a big rabbit hole. Would you recommend one FVX12 or two 1619 1v's, room is 20x24, only one open doorway, but I do have slanted ceilings that go from 8 ft up to 13ft in the middle. This will be for my HT setup, and maybe 10% music, but I have a separate setup for 2 channel vinyl listening. The one big caveat to this is the subwoofer(s) have to be white per the wife's decor in the family room. I am really torn on getting one FVX12, and then potentially adding another subwoofer down the road, or just grabbing 2 1619's. I am leaning towards the FVX12. Thanks for help!

Rythmik makes the finest ported subwoofer I have ever heard. I continue to use mine daily in a music only system for whatever thats worth. That's how darn accurate it is. @@Venezuela305 2 12" driver has the same surface area of a single 17" driver so you will get more moving mass and double the motor force with the E22 along with a better voice coil to cone area ratio but the servo tech kind of makes it hard to interpret how much of a difference any of that will really make. I would decide based on the dimensions and visual aesthetic since they cost & weigh the same and based on my experience with Rythmik so far they are all excellent. One thing the E22 should have more of is sense of scale but I'm totally just guessing here based on my L12 vs L22 experience.

@@NemoPropaganda I asked Brian at Rythmik a similar question, and he said: "...E22 is faster and F15HP is more authoritative..." This response threw me off. Even their site claims the E22 has more output than the F15HP. I wonder if it has to do with the power difference. Their claims leans towards E15HP2, but my gut says E22. I absolutely loved the REL 1205. I tested it for 30 days. I never got closed to maxing it. If only would dig a little lower it would be perfect., hence de idea of E22 was born.
@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda 3 жыл бұрын
@@Venezuela305 I could see that actually, not to get too complicated but the 15" driver likely has a lower Fs (resonant frequency) so at the lowest octaves it could have an easier time reproducing something like 18hz so it would sound more authoritative and effortless in that region despite being 1db quieter than the E22. I think this is a situation where the two products will perform nearly identically to each other which is why I think it's best to make the purchasing decision more so on aesthetics, shape, etc... All rythmik subs have crazy low extension so I think you'll be super happy either way.

11:21 Constructive critique here if you don't mind. Every few weeks I find myself congratulating you on another 1000 subscriber milestone and you're also no slouch when it comes to reviewing new equipment that's hot off the production line. All this is to say that for the foreseeable future there is a high possibility that viewers of your content will not only be first time viewers of ANY of the content of your channel but also possibly gaining their first view of the equipment being reviewed. With that in mind I think it might be a great idea to burn the extra calories to do the direct comparison like the visual KC 62 size vs FVX12 that you decided to skip. Also I DEEPLY appreciate it every single time you compare speakers and subs that should NEVER be directly compared (as was done in this video) because it's very educational being able to understand how size and price point affects overall listening characteristics. Direct apples to apples comparisons can never achieve that. Just my $0.02 it's not really that important tbh lol.

(Think 2 dual opposing F12's) For the large space they are in and they are ridiculously great for stereo and great for articulated bass for movies. Saying that I kept my single SVS 13 PBUltra for the theatre experience (body pounding bass addition), but the pair of Rythmik G22's as well crossed over properly with my front left and right Focal Sopra 3's and placed in dual mode for LFE movie watching. My F12s were fantastic but a little shy of filling up the room, and my single REL s812 was fantastic but holy underpowered for the room. To be fair the Rythmik's place the much hyped REL into second place. The REL was more dynamic but it failed to integrate as well but was just as tonally accurate. (In my opinion as good as it is it costs too much for its performance... My wallet was bigger than my research that day) The Rythemik G22's are a huge step up for music from the F12'S and the REL S812... those dual opposing drivers are incredible.

@@mesonto Oh man I'm jealous! The G22 look awesome, they're just too heavy for me to play with and might be too much for my room. I stopped using the F12 pair as 2 in my small room was overkill so each sub was barely running off maybe a few watts and not really hitting it's stride. Switching to just 1 and making it work a little harder sounded way better. I think my room is best for 2 small subs or 1 bigger one but I can't have 2 12" subs in here, they just wont hit their sweet spot.

I purchased this sub two months ago and agree with your review 100%. Did you play with the PEQ setting? I have not measured my room response so not sure what frequency I would need to even boost. Since I’m 50% HT/music and using an AVR I used the 80hz crossover point and decreased by -3db. I haven’t noticed much difference just curious your thoughts? Anyone considering this sub do not hesitate it is a winner. I will emphasize on point you mentioned which I love and the sub just disappears to the point You wonder if it’s working. Turn it off and you know it is. Of course that’s at lower listening levels. Crank the volume and you are rewarded with authority And slam but you’ll still wonder is it working. That’s because the bass truly sounds like it’s coming from your front stage. Amazing.

@NemoPropaganda

Hey Phillip, "suffice" is very personal my friend. But here is the simple answer. Yes the F12 will not have any problems in a 1600 sqft room. The FVX12 on the other hand has bass more like a sealed 15". If you can fit the FVX12 I think you will be extremely happy with it but if room aesthetics are very important to you the F12 is also very capable. Basically the FVX12 will have more of that theater rumble than any sealed 12" but the F12 also rumbles, just not as much as the FVX.

I'm mostly after music but I dont like the sound of sealed subs. Currently my Polk HTS12 is a little boomy in my living room as its only partially furnished. So I play it at low volumes and it seems quite muddy then. I'm hoping the Rythmik will be a step up. I was edging towards the SVS because of the app and EQ but I figured I could always get a miniDSP to fine tune it and the direct servo sounds like the best way to go. Now if only Rythmik would make a passive radiator version of this sub. I love the extension a passive radiator design can provide minus the size of a ported design that my listening room just can't accommodate. Two sealed F12SE it is.
@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda 3 жыл бұрын
Rythmik will make a passive radiator sub the same day REL adds a DSP to their subwoofers which would be never. For Rythmik to do a passive radiator the cabinet would still be large as it would only shrink by the amount of volume the port takes up if you expect it to have the same extension. But I'm also guessing it may not pair well with their servo tech and could potentially undo all the goodness the servo brings to the table.

Thanks for the review. Did you set damping on low or high? I have seen Shane's review from Sparechange about the F18's. He set the damping on low and he said that there are better subs out there that are snappier than the F18's. Did he do something wrong? Because you would automatically think that servo tech is way better than the standard tech in a subwoofer.
@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda 2 жыл бұрын
My review is based on using all settings. Shane has an extremely challenging room so he has to set his to low to get the most rumble. Changing damping to medium or high will have the F18 play tighter and faster than most subs on the market so I would not worry about that so much. There is a user in my discord that also has a pair of F18 if you want to ask him his experience. Our discord is free and links are in all the newer videos.

Since the bulk of my reviews are subwoofers for 2ch stereo I do not test maximum output. As far as comparisons it's really simple, there is no other vented subwoofer that exists anywhere close the FVX12 in terms of price that has the sound quality & fidelity it has. The FVX12 stands apart, it's on it's own island, it has no competitor.

@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda Жыл бұрын
Hi Brian, I love REL and Rythmik but just to be clear I have not heard the S812 specifically but if you like the REL sound but want more output for your money Rythmik is the logical place to look or REL's own Predator 1510. Vented subs generally have twice the output of their sealed counterparts so yes you should gain a good amount of headroom by going from dual sealed to dual vented subs and since the vented subs you're considering are Rythmiks you can also expect to have very good extension & transient response also! Now if you're trying to play the intro of Edge of Tomorrow at 110dB without bottoming out you may want to consider something larger like their F18. Another way to look at the FVX12 is (and again this is generally speaking) a vented 12" has similar output to a sealed 15" so you're going in the right direction for sure.

@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Daniel, so I would definitely ask Rythmik their opinion on that but my opinion is this: It's good that size doesn't matter for you but at the same time contrary to the common saying of bigger is better, having too much headroom (big powerful sub) and not using it is not good either because the operation point will be below the optimal linear range. It's almost like having a Ferrari and not going over 3500rpm, the valves will get dirty because the car needs to be driven hard, (to a point). Now if your room is larger and you're looking to create a reference theater experience the FVX15 may certainly be for you. Rythmik will be able to answer that question better than I can though :).

I haven't heard the monolith 12 but it's a PB2000 ripoff, the FVX12 would most likely be better than the monolith in every category. I kind of view monoprice the same way I view Hyundai but at least Hyundai isn't copying anyone else...

@@Professor5180 most people don't have as many data points with respect to music as I do. This channel is for 2 ch music application. Most people singing high praise to the monolith are doing so with respect to its home theater performance. I'm not a HT guy, I'm a 2ch music guy and there is a huge difference in what I need from a subwoofer in a 2ch music system that 95% of large box ported subs simply can't do. Large box ported subs generally sacrifice everything to accomplish maximum low frequency extension and SPL as is required for HT. The FVX12 is an exception here, it's servo tech stops the trade off from happening and instead you get the best of both worlds. HT subs are like drag cars, they're 1 trick ponies while music subwoofers are more road race cars, they're still fast and can tear up a drag strip but they can do everything else the race track demands besides simply going straight as fast as possible.

Hi, Nemo. Need your opinion regarding choosing between FVX12 and F12. My HT size is 16 x 16.5 with a 10 feet ceiling. Space / Size of the subwoofer is not a constraint. My usage is 60:40 for HT : Music. I did demo the L12 (at the dealer's place) and found it to be quite good, although, I did not really feel that chest thumping or chair shaking experience. Need your opinion / advice in choosing between FVX12 and F12.

Hey Shankar, FVX12 for sure bro!!! The FVX12 has roughly double the output of it's sealed counterpart which is really important for theater and it' still killer for music. If you want chair shaking bass you might need a pair or something bigger than a 12" though :). With that said in my 2021 year end video I ranked the FVX12 as subwoofer of the year and I still stand behind that, it is the finest ported 12" subwoofer I have ever heard and I do not believe a better one exists at this price point nor do I know of a more expensive one that is better. But I can't and don't want a sub that stand out too much in my living room. Maybe F12 is the best compromise.... I am curious how and why these subs have so low wattage I mean they have around like 400 watts RMS ported or not and compared to other servo subs like Velodyne that have 1000 watt amps. I thought the servo almost required a lot of watts. Why can these subs have so "few" watts?
@NemoPropaganda

That's a great question and Rythmik can probably explain more but wattage is only 1 factor. My understanding is the old Velodyne servo models were very inefficient so required more power and it's important to remember they were also very expensive. Rythmik subwoofers are very efficient so your power goes a lot further. I would not worry about the wattage, even the 300w L12 had plenty of power and played plenty loud!

Do you think you'll get a chance to listen to any of the Rythmik 15's? I'd be curious to see how you feel about how they sound with all your experience with the Rythmik 12s. I have a fairly decent sized room (17x19, 10' ceilings and opens to the kitchen and living room). I feel like I have too many options to choose from (pair of 12's, dual 12s / opposed 12s, single 15, etc...). I'm probably 50/50 music / HT, but I'd really prefer to not sacrifice any speed.
@NemoPropaganda
@NemoPropaganda 2 жыл бұрын
At some point physics is just going to be a factor, even the larger REL's aren't as speedy as their smaller counterparts but it begs the question what is "fast enough". Rythmik will know their own subwoofers better but I would imagine the G22, E22, or pair of F12 may have a quicker response than something like the E15HP. But the E15HP is probably still a very quick subwoofer compared to other 15" models. I am thinking about reviewing one of their 15" subs but the weight is kind of a problem for me. It might be best you just ring rythmik and have a chat with them and see what they recommend.

@@NemoPropaganda I guess when I prioritize, SPL is not really as important as fast transients and overall SQ (might push me toward the 12's)...but I'll have to think about 1 vs 2 subs a bit. they're very different in overall size but based on your earlier comment of wanting a sub that could handle a larger room incase you move heres my 2 cents: the FVX12 is a vented sub, you'd need 2 1205 MK2's to compete with its output at all frequencies. These are both extremely high SQ subs so fidelity is not a concern on either. So you could either buy the larger FVX12 now and be set for a larger room or buy a single 1205 MK2 now and upgrade to dual 1205 MK2's later down the line if you move to a larger room.
