“The person you can best serve, is the person you used to be” 😮 wow. I have to let that settle in. Love this discussion. Thank you to both of you. 😊

When I saw the headline I was excited to watch. Ultimately I got nothing from it. Sadly, this is the difference in my generation and younger generations. I’m 57. Born and raised in the south. I’m a child of the 70s. Went to high school and college in the 80s. Everything he said was taught to me by my parents. And I was reading the books he talked about back in the 1980s. Not sure where he gets this woo woo in the south nonsense. It’s an individual thing. It’s how you’re raised. It shows you how far society has fallen when what was common sense in the 70s and 80s now passes for some type of hidden knowledge or wisdom. But that’s what happens when forces destroy family and faith.

I agree, I got very little from this interview. Once he started talking about his guidance in the universe, it just wasn't for me. I turned it off at the 30 minute mark.

I lost my 21-yr old son to suicide in 2008. He was a beautiful soul and an extremely deep thinker. I often wish the internet platforms that are available today were more available to him so that he could engage with others like himself. When I come across people like your current guest, it reminds me of him and I appreciate their capacity to think for themselves and think outside of the box. Very much enjoyed listening to you guys and wish you both all the success, fulfillment and challenges that your hearts desire.

Thanks to the Internet and social media mental illness, unhappiness, suicide, especially among teenagers and young people, poor, mental health, and anxiety, all at all-time highs and getting worse every year. Social media is a scourge on society. All of this transgender stuff going on so many of the other social issues were dealing with. They all coincide with social media and the smart phone in 2012. Search KZfaq for Jonathan Haidt. He wrote an excellent book called the coddling of the American mind that goes into great detail explaining all of this.

We live on a family farm. I've always worked outside the home to provide a steady income and health insurance. Unfortunately, I also assumed a lot about my hubby's fiscal responsibility that I found misguided. He passed away 3 years ago -our property taxes were in arrears to the point of foreclosure. He had no life insurance. I found myself in a deep hole of debt. My first thought was "sell it all" but after the initial shock, I realized that would not make me happy. Luckily, I had some inheritance that built us a house, so it's paid for. Now i'm managing to work my way out of that debt and live a quiet life. I still struggle some days, but am getting there. Most days are spent working and coming home to my dog, followed by a bit of time decluttering my home. It took us 30 years to acquire all the things here and will take a while to pare them down to a manageable, useful home.

The mindset that "life happens to us" and we are victim of our circumstances is extremely pervasive. "It was/wasn't meant to be" "God has a plan" "Thank god" "A gift from God" "Trust god's plan" I know it's mostly "God" aka theistic positions but God is life. So every time someone mentions "God", you can replace it with "Life" "Life has a plan" "Thank my position in Life" "A gift from Life" They say God created the world with a total plan and has total control. Yet they claim free will and person autonomy. Cognitive Dissonance. 15:13 "That it wasn't meant for me" See what I mean? Who "Meant" it? I mean.... What is controlling your life to make something "For" or "Not for" you?

You’re inflating two things. Those people that feel sorry for themselves and feel like victims are actually not Christians and not saying God has a plan. Most Christians deal with hard circumstances pretty well. You will find that in polling over and over again conservatives and Christians are much happier than liberals and atheists. When we were a God-fearing, society and family was not under attack we were a much better country in every way. By every statistic, we have declined as a country over the last 40 years as the left has attacked family and faith.
