About 2 months ago I had a new Vengeance Twin Disc clutch installed on my 2013 Mustang GT which required 1,000 Miles of break in before any hard pulls. Today we were able to go out and do some test hits with my S197 Mustang and see if it could handle some hard pulls on the new clutch!

I couldn't agree more. The S197 is a great mustang and the one most should start with for a coyote. I moved from a S197 coyote to a S197 Shelby and am loving it. Keep cranking that content before the big chill comes. I hate that I switched to the Shelby so late in the year. The car will go into storage in the next month or so.

Blucifer is a straight up beast!!! To answer one of the topics you mentioned in the video, I always understood that centrifugal blowers typically run cooler because they are sitting away from the engine and positive displacement blowers run hotter because they sit on top of the engine. Could be wrong though.

Maaaaaan S197's do just hit different, I love my S550 but the S197 stuff is really hard to resist sometimes. Edit: IIRC, the Centri blowers are the most efficient of the blower types, PD blowers really suffer with heat being so compact and crammed in there.

S197 all day, every day. Only thing the s550s have that I'm interested in is the gen 2 coyote. If/when my gen 1 blows it'll either get a gen 2 or otherwise built motor.

S197's are the best body style to me. Love them. Why I have one. The S550 and now 650 are wearing on me butif I'm go naked get an S550 it's gonna have to be a Mach or Gt500. I hate when people get in front of me and drive slow. I blow by them like you did.

Mustangs are drag cars in my heart, always have always will, the SRA is better for that, I'd personally go for s197, however if you want a track car mustangs are insane at that and the IRS in the s550 is worth.

Traditionally the centris AI temps are about 5-12 degrees cooler. I’m surprised you’re seeing higher temps. It may be because your intercooler isn’t as efficient as others. The other thing that helps is cooler lines for the oil feed into the blower of it has a crossover line into the motor. The prochargers can’t because they are self contained I’m not sure about the Paxton’s

@@DerekBaranProductions I would look into efficiencies within the intercooler and look into creating air routing for the blower then. I run a Anderson charge pipe for that reason. It creates a little air restriction compared to s turbo guard but it keeps intake temps lower since the filter is placed and routed in a “fresh air” pocket

A good number to keep a stock Gen1 @ is around 700whp. You’ll still be fine around 720-730whp, as long as you have good fuel, and don’t excessively race it. On pump gas, it’s safe to stay around 650whp. The weak link of the Gen1 is the connecting rods. And you do not need OPGs/CS unless you’re consistently on the rev limiter (such as when launching the car). If you’re just cruising or doing roll racing, you don’t need to upgrade OPGs/CS, but if you absolutely want the peace of mind, then go ahead.
