Abandoned Urbex Canada

Күн бұрын

This sad abandoned farmhouse sits on over 40 acres of land. The previous occupant of this house sadly passed away. He was a well respected veteran, friend, and family man. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones. Unfortunately the house will demolished soon for new industrial buildings. I'm glad I had a chance to document this abandoned place before its gone forever.

About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

One would think you have a channel that is 100% cool and fun. As a longtime follower I’m surprised how many of these videos are difficult to watch. It’s important to me that you always treat your exploration sites - and the people who lived there - with dignity and respect. Thanks for that.

This house was probably in disrepair and neglect for years before the owner passed away. Most pensioners cant afford big repairs like a roof etc, and will just live in the house as long as possible or until they pass away. Sad to see though. Thanks for for another great video Bret, I really like your flavor that you infuse into your videos. I'm not sure if its because we live in the same area and there is a certain familiarity with the locations that you cover but I really enjoy them.

Another nice explore Brent. I'm thinking this home has been abandoned for sometime, but squatters are now using it. Probably not in it now because the weather turned colder. Maybe put the plastic up to keep the bugs out. Enjoy watching, thanks!

Great Video Brent! Me and my wife ALWAYS watch your shows👏👏👏 Very sad… a thing of the past that a man can work hard. Gain and have that much land and a home that’s his. Sadly those days are disappearing if not gone entirely… Taken over by mega corporations that then sit and preach to poor people about Global warming and reducing your carbon footprint. Sad…

It's such a shame to see this home in this state. With a bit of cleaning and updating, it would've made a wonderful starter house for someone. Every time I see these abandoned homes I'm always touched by...something. I think of all the happy memories: holidays spent with friends and families, birthdays, the sounds of children laughing and playing, etc. It really gets me.

I actually visited twice. The mold in there is so overwhelming that I don't think squatters would even stay there. I drove by it quite a bit over the years. The old man was a biker possible Veteran. He was a large man with a funny sense of humor as a read his vision board in the kitchen. He also liked his pot. Lol. There was green Tupperware there that smelled of pot when I opened it. He also had a cute little dog I'd see outside from time to time. I found a picture on the wall. If anyone goes there be super careful because there is a septic tank pit near the house in the back just covered with a rotting board. I think he passed away or went to an old age home. Interesting explore. I didn't go into the basement as I was getting a headache from the mold. Oh and the power is still on in the main floor bedroom. Sad to see this beautiful heritage house go to waste. It's well over 120 years old. 😢 The old man lived there not that long ago. I know I saw people moving everything out last year at some point in the spring.

My thinking is the wife probably died first, and the husband lived there for years. That’s why it’s in disrepair. An observation is, it’s possibly been abandoned since April, the Tim Hortons cup in the sink is recent 🤷‍♀️ Great find once again 😊 Keep the videos coming! 😊

My dad built our rural home in the early 70's. After he came home from Vietnam. My Mom left in 1985, If I recall, and the state of the place became, " Sans womans touch" Just how it was/ is. Its DADS home. Boxes in the living room full of axe heads, pad locks, whatever. I'm not saying he is dirty, just not big on Decorating or upkeep. He died on Friday. Had his funeral today. My sister told me this evening she left his ashes sitting in " His" chair in the living room. At least for the night. It feels right, because the last 3 weeks in the hospital, with him being crazy sick and not getting better, he just wanted to go home and sit in his chair in his home with his beloved kitty cat ( who is an inch from feral, wont let anyone but dad touch her). He is connected to his home. It is forever his home. The way im taking it is, to others it might look messy and unkempt, but to him it made sense. He was a man of the land, always working on tractors, cars, or in the fields or woods, his home reflected that practical set of values. I enjoyed your comment.

I agree, wife died or left *long* ago. Place became a time capsule cuz husband didn’t care to update. Husband grew old and possibly smoked himself to death, sadly. The bedroom with rainbow wallpaper tells us there was probably at least one kid growing up here at one time. The mess looks like looters/vandals maybe.

I just want to say that you're my favorite explorer. I've tried to watch so many others, and a couple are ok. But they don't have the one thing I love most about you: you don't crap up the video with all kinds of yammering on, making up stories and saying stupid things. You also don't stop, 10 or 20 times in a video, to spend minutes telling us what we're about to see, instead of moving along and showing us. You don't stop in front of every mirror or swing your hand to cover the lens. You just explore, and bring us along. Thank you for making the buildings what your videos are about.

I’m surprised there weren’t critters living in that house. There was nothing stopping their entry. I take it the basement was inaccessible since you didn’t go back to it. Those upstairs bedrooms must have been really cold in the winter. At least they had fans for summertime. And I agree. This house was not abandoned six months ago. After dad died, the kids took whatever they wanted and just left everything else behind. Thanks for the tour!

I have to agree with some of the comments here. I think some squatters made it their shelter over the warmer months. That place looks like the former resident left it abandoned quite a while ago. It is heartbreaking 💔 that no one kept some of his memories. Very interesting place. Right you are, an extremely heavy smoker lived there. Thanks for taking us Brent.

Cool house. It’s a shame it will become a site for industrial buildings. It seems every older house is demolished these days and every farm becomes dense housing. What history will there be left. Houses don't seem to keep maintained when its just the man and the wife is gone. This happened with my dad. He didn't want to fix anything up. His house is in bad shape. We moved him to assisted living in August. But I went in and cleaned it best I could.but we keep it locked so people can't rummage through it like this. Just sad to see.

Great find! My best guess is, based on the garage sale type "for sale" sign, that the family may have, at one point, had an estate sale after the owner passed. Anything of value went, but the rest stayed and the place was ultimately sold to developers. Perhaps some local kids ransacked it a bit, and likely more recently, squatters stayed. They may still spend time there. I don't think it was rented out like some old farm houses, because often that's when you see a lot of wild paint colors and wallpapering jobs pop up... because renters are trying to personalize on the cheap, and don't have to think about resale values.
