Also worth noting that paper straws are safer then plastic straws! Whenever possible a hitter or tool designed just for this purpose is ideal, but I know that they aren’t accessible to everyone.

love this video it was definitely a question i had while in active addiction, i definitely still did it but when i was getting sober i got my nostrils pierced so i couldn’t do anything

also even if you dont have a nose piercing its a good idea to wash with saline after using

What an excellent idea for a video, harm reduction is so important. Also I’m looking forward to the other videos in this series. I would be interested to see a video about jewelry options for dermal punches. I could find a lot of info about getting them done but not about jewelry options once they are healed, and I find a lot of jewelry meant for lobes is too long to be very comfy

It’s definitely a tricky subject and I understand peoples hesitancy to discuss it but I think it’s really important information and can keep many people safe. That’s my hope anyway!

Thank you! I am 12 years in recovery and I have worked in harm reduction for the last few years. It is something near and dear to me, as are the ones we are trying to keep alive and as healthy as possible. I did always try to use a cut down straw with my nostril piercing. Those of us in active use have enough potential for infection thank you for addressing this. And THANK YOU for mentioning narcan and fentanyl!! Fentanyl is in so many substances today we have seen it more and more in cocaine and people are very surprised to hear that.

I love this, I don't have any need for it myself, but harm reduction and safe substance use is important and I'm all for education over simply banning something or acting like it doesn't exist, thank you for providing a safe space to talk about these things

🙌🙌🙌🫶 Thanks for putting this information out there. Harm reduction is so important. Unfortunately its just now becoming “popular” this wasnt around when i was in active addiction. Ive been clean for 5+ years & life is so beautiful!!
