I would love to see your maintenance budget. Did you set aside money from the beginning? Do you save a certain amount each month since you started vanlife? What were the financial reasons you picked your vehicle? What are you monthly expenses roughly? Do you budget your food, maintenance, utilities cost etc? Have you run into any unexpected costs? What surprised you the most about vanlife? Sorry I could ask you a million questions!

This is very inspirational. Currently working so much. Hearing her say she worked her ass off for 7 years to get to where she is really got to be. Simply because I have so many dreams and I feel like im so far away from them but, freedom has a price and we have to work for it 💕🙌🏻

You are an inspiration. 1.9% APR is sweet. I converted a small bedroom in my house (8x12) into a creative "sandbox" for the time when I can purchase a large van, so I'm already doing the van-build in that bedroom, using the real van dimensions. For example, the floor-to-ceiling wall units can eventually be moved right into the van I purchase.

Oooh btw my daughter and I have a new car game....whenever we go to Walmart or any big box store and see a Sprinter Van, we try to see if it's a van lifer or delivery person! Good for you!! I really don’t mind the ads now that I understand how people making these videos are getting monetized for there time making them. My daughter does them also for her channel and I know now that people only get paid if the person watching the ad watches the whole ad to completion. Your videos are done very well and keep up the good work. I have seen a couple channels i liked fizzle out after a while so I hope you find satisfaction in making the videos for years to come weigh a channel that keeps growing :) Take it easy and safe travels!!

I have been researching van life for 6 months now. I can’t afford a sprinter, and have decided on a Promaster. Of course, if your expenses/maintenance costs video (my pick) is informative, that may change. My ??’s: how many miles do you travel monthly, what is cost of diesel, what is your MPG, how often do you car wash the van & costs/time for that, What do you pay for parking monthly(when you can’t find free) What about what you do to service your van: check air in tires, cost to rotate tires, how often you rotate, add DEF fluid, check radiator, etc. how often do you clean solar panels for optimum efficiency. What did your research lead you to as pros/cons of different Sprinters - did you entertain a different van as a choice than Sprinter?

Liz, wisdom from one of my mentors, John Woodall, comes to mind in response to your comments about social media-influenced changes to your life and "seasons". Firstly, there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. It's also important to recognize that we don't sow and reap in the same season. Secondly, we all live life either by default or by design. It sounds as though social media is influencing some uncomfortable changes to the life you designed. While I fully realize that no development occurs in our comfort zone, I'd encourage you to embrace only the discomfort that's in alignment with the life you've designed...while remaining open to new experiences to enhance life and the future. All the best...

Oh I was laughing with you when you said "probably more deep seeded issues there." I totally get you! I really like your videos. You are thorough, honest, and genuine. I'm glad you pointed out that you have to have all of your ducks in a row in order to make the leap. I'm trying to do that now. Downsize, pay off bills and researching my options. Please come to Dallas at some point spring is nice and there is a lot do see and do. I'd love a meet up! As for the next video, I vote Safety. You meet a lot of people when you are exploring and traveling. How do you handle yourself if you run across a creepy weirdo? What have you learned to say and not say in conversation pertaining to Van life. If you're out hiking or walking around how do you protect yourself or plan to protect yourself if anything were to happen? Happen as in falling and getting hurt, animal attack, humid attack Etc.

OMG - you look so hot in those shorts I can't stand it!! Love the details on transitioning and "ripping the band-aid off" because ultimately that's what it comes down to - at some point we all have to jump. Congrats on getting your student loans paid off so quickly and managing your money so well. That's a HUGE issue for many but once that's done, it's much cheaper to live life the way you want. Safety seems to be a big issue for many so that's my vote...that and more shorts! haha Take care, stay safe and keep up the great work!

Thanks for the tips!! Always insightful!! Would like to learn about steps to be safe. How is it parking and sleeping? Do you go to a different spot every night especially while you’re in San Diego? Would it be necessary to have more than just the regular car alarm system or would you recommend getting cameras? Have you ever had an intruder in the middle of the night? Has anyone snooped inside your van in day light while your doors are open?

brian reardon I agree! And ‘ad’ your stuff with Amazon links in the description. I’m going there anyway to buy stuff! Work/life balance! Any of us would agree, no van lifer is doing this for the $$. If someone really wants to watch your content though, they will not complain about the ads.
